  1. I have found the Navgate evolution for £795! I am tempted but not sure if the price is good! Would you know if its plug play for sure? Just remove the existing factory unit and reconnect everything to new unit and whooooooosshhhhh it will work?
  2. That would be fantastic if you would be able to find a stockist in Manchester!!!
  3. The video illustration is spot on! Looks like just what I want without loosing any of the existing features. I called a few companies in Manchester but none stock it!!! :-( proper disappointed
  4. Hey Jaco thats brilliant info! It's a shame it's so expensive to retrofit the unit. I'll look into the pioneer unit you mentioned. By the sound of things, plug and play is the best option, would you know if you lose stalk controls? Its a a real shame manufacturers don't design the systems to be easier to change for newer models! ill do some research and let you know what the outcome is! cheers bud
  5. Hi Guys, I am not sure if this has been covered or not. I apologise if it has. I have an octavia 2015 DSG Elegance with build it Sat nav amundsen unit. Its nice, I like it but I want to replace it with smart link as I have seen in the newer Skoda cars. Its fantastic, I have used it in test drives, just love how it interacts with my mobile. (I have checked my system and there is no option to enter an activation code to enable it) Is it possible to buy this unit and do a retrofit? Swap out the old unit and install the new unit? Will I lose features from the dashboard? Such as Audio view, Nav view? etc? If it isn't possible to do a direct swap out do you think I should look into aftermarket systems? I don't really fancy doing this as I have to find fascias to fit etc but if i have to I will? Is there a unit anyone can recommend if they have done this before? Will I lose stalk controls??? Any help or advice, I would really appreciate it guys. Thank you very much
  6. After the test drives I did today... and spending nearly 4 hours at the dealer I decided on an Octavia 1.6 diesel DSG elegance. The drive was smoother, better MPG and better features. The Yeti drove well but the mpg and insurance, including road tax kinda put me off a little.
  7. Ryeman what do you mean by heavy work to justify the diesel? Do you mean if motorway miles are not on a daily basis is not worth it?

  9. Paul52 thanks for the reply, what is you average mpg?? I have read the yeti 1.2 does around 39mpg.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I will get much more info tomorrow and will compare some aftermarket APC systems. Maybe look into stalk control adapters too... This might prove a challenge. Thanks again
  11. After having the carista app and the odb2 connected to the car I can seriously say it is not worth it!! Even while testing the beta version of the app, you cannot do much with the customisations. There is not even auto lock on the app. So if you have a new vehicle I would hold out. If you have a before 2016 model you might find the carista useful.
  12. hey, sorry I am on GMT time here ( Greek Maybe Time) I am close to Protaras...!
  13. Hey guys I am in a debate with myself as to which Yeti to go for. There is the option of a 1.2 TSI DSG or 2.0 TDI DSG both 2011 plates. Both have under 40k miles. My main trips are short to work and back but 3 times a week I will drive on the motorway and do around 50miles and everyday milage of a return journey of 15miles. A few times a year I do long distance driving each trip around 300+ miles. The TSI version is an SE and the TDI is the elegance. I will test drive both tomorrow but at the minute i am more inclined towards the TDI (I do understand as its diesel it will required a good run on the motorway to clear the filter) Any experience or opinions or advice welcomed to help make my decision. Cheers Andreas
  14. Hi Great Yeti! I am swapping over my fabia for a yeti which has a standard bolero system. Can your user guide help install an aftermarket apple car play system? Will the steering wheel controls still work?? Thanks forgot to mention the yeti I will be getting will either be a 1.2 TSI auto 2012 or a 2.0 TDI elegance auto hope this helps
  15. haha well spotted! i am Cypriot myself.... its off topic but which part of Cyprus are your parents roots?
  16. It is just the customisations that have not been worked out as the diagnostic and service work just fine
