  1. Thanks for the help. Did not get the chance to try any of these things as the owner decided to take it back to the shop. Turns out it was a dvd recorder for analogue only! He now has exchanged it for a digital one which should hopefully be ok. Will bear in mind all above advice if there are any problems with it but im expecting this one to be ok. Cheers.
  2. Hi, after a little help again please if anyone can. A relative has just got a dvd recorder (phillips) and I am having problems setting it up with his television. I have connected all leads correctly but cannot get the channels to tune in. The instructions state how to connect a cable/sattelite box inbetween the dvdrecorder and the tele and i am doing this all correctly but as he does not have cable/sattelite I am trying to connect a "digi box" in this way. Are dvd recorders compatible with digi boxes (ones that convert the analogue ariel signal to get more channels) or does it have to be either a Cable or sattelite box? I am usually quite good with stuff like this and the only thing i can think of is that these things dont work with digi boxes. Any help greatly appreciated cheers.
  3. Ok im doing quite well now, itunes seems to be ok after all, and the videora program is great for converting the video files thanks for everyones advice. One problem i have come across though. In itunes I cannot get the files I have as tv episodes to go into the tv programs part. They automatically default to movie files and just go into the movies folder. I would prefer to choose what goes in Movies and what goes in tv programs. Any way I can do this? Cheers.
  4. Cheers for all the extra ideas. Experimenting with it now. Love the idea of putting tv programs and films on it just trying to search for decent sources now.
  5. worked it out now thanks. delete this thread if possible ws just having a useless moment.
  6. I have just got an ipod classic 80GB and I am unsure how to put music on it. Is there a way to drag and drop music files onto it? Do they need to be converted somehow first? Surely I dont have to buy everything from itunes? Any help greatly appreciated thanks.
  7. Ok applied mine today and there is definately a noticeable difference. Very smooth idle and smooth power delivery like others have said. I didnt think I had any problems before trying it but there is a definate improvement. No way is this just in the mind.
  8. Got some of this stuff and gona try it soon. To those who have done it - did you think your car was running a little sluggish anyway before trying it and is it a noticeable improvement? Did you think it was running ok in the first place and tried it anyway? if so, any noticed change or not? Hope thats understandable - cheers..
  9. Check out this thread for the location of the blocked drain holes http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/water-leak-behind-glove-box/61301/ Hopefully unblocking them will sort it.
  10. Going to give this a try too I think. Interested in the results of those who try it...
  11. Brefore pulling anything apart check your drain holes are not blocked with mud and leaves. They can be found from the pics on page 2 of this thread:- http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/water-leak-behind-glove-box/61301/ Thats what mine was - saved a load of hassle.
  12. My golf has a leak which sounds similar to this and I was stumped for ages trying to find out how the water was getting in until I read this link from seat:- Water leak into footwell - dodgy seal info and DIY repair guide - SEAT Cupra.net Thats exactly how the water gets in on my golf. Worth a look - I couldnt really confirm it unitl I took off the door card and left it for a bit with newspapers between the closed door and the door seals which ended up soaked in the rain but kept the carpets dry. My leak is below the front passenger side speaker but the water ran along the sill and into the car and pooled in the rear footwell. Hope that helps a little.
  13. Excellent info on this site! Cheers - The GF just came in complaining of a water leak just like this and was going to take it straight to a garage!!!! Sorted in a matter of seconds with this info. Thanks again.
  14. On reading this thread I have removed AVG from my system and installed avast. Maybe its just me, but I do think it has speeded up general web browsing.
  15. 7zip seems to do the same for me for now and works ok. Sorted thanks.
  16. I have downloaded 7 zip will see if it works. pittVRS-I have no idea where to look but some advice (maybe PM?) would be helpful.
  17. No matter how low you get what you want on the site, ring them when your happy with it and Im sure you will be able to get it less. Also set your price and you may be able to haggle a better spec. I couldnt believe the guy I spoke to had so much time for me and I was asking to change this and that constantly. I needed to check things up too away from the phone (advice from mates etc) and he was only to happy to ring me back. I did stress that I was going to purchase that day at the beginning of the call and if they could do better than what I had already been offered they would have the sale.
  18. I used to have winrar for unpacking stuff but now it seems to have disappeared!!!! Maybe it was a trial - anyway are there any free programs out there which will do exactly the same thing or will I have to shell out to get it again?? Any advice appreciated thanks.
  19. Like i say, only had mine for about a week and its my first ever laptop but the noisiest it seems to get is when the cd drive spins over when you put a disc in.
  20. I went halfway in between and got the 2yrs worth of warranty. I plan on taking good care of it too. Could do with knowing someone who is able to fix these things if it goes wrong - they are so much different from desktop machines which are fun to pull apart and sort out yourself! Although its my first laptop and ive only had it for a week im quite happy so far.
  21. Donkey - Haha hope you got a good deal and happy with it as I am with mine! Doesnt half come with a load of tripe installed on it though. Gradually working out whats what and getting rid of it. loads of pop ups for various broadband companies and anti virus trials. Fluffmiester - the K2 must be very snug fit - I got hold of a K1 and it was rather tight! gone for the K3 after reading I have a few more cm! Should be here by the weekend! Love the backpack style look of them.
  22. Got it now and busy messing about setting it up. First impressions are its great. FLUFFMIESTER - Which pakuma akara bag have you got for the snuggest fit? K1, K2, or K3? Im presuming a K1? And where do you find them for around
  23. Wow thanks for the pics! looking forward to it more now! Dont think I have ever seen one in the flesh but im told they are supposed to be very reliable and solidly constructed!
