Wheel Nuts

Featured Replies

I want to do a really deep clean of my alloys tomorrow. However I have the 19" Extreme's and they come with black wheel nuts / bolts

Am I likely to damage them with a normal socket?

Is there anything you can do to avoid it, I was thinking of trying to put an old t-shirt that's quite thin into the socket to give it some padding.

Do you not have plastic covers over the bolts and the security bolt that you will remove using the tweezers?

Must admit I haven't even checked. Hopefully that is the case!

Always sensible to check that if you have to change  wheel you have the tools and get undo the bolts.

Normally protective caps are on the bolts, special tool to remove them without damaging them is located next to your spare tyre.

Never had these on my car, not sure the tool is in the back. Don't know why that would be gone. Guess at some point a garage never bothered puttin them on, for the previous owner.

Might buy some, would look better.

When I collected my Octavia the tool was in the front centre armrest!

I'll try look tonight, was too dark last night to rummage.

For sure it should't be there, there is exact place in boot where it fits among the other tools.I use it a lot because if I let tyre garage remove them they use ordinary pliers and that in not nice.

Everything was there, nice and simple to remove and replace.

On a side note. Wheels are now gleaming B)
