This is exactly what I thought, pay Ed the profit they earn for his labour and they would just about break even everytime
-
Do you think he is a good mechanic?? One thing you can always say about him is that he does things properly and is very thorough.

Turned on my car this morning to a beap telling me my car needs servicing, despite the fact that last night I looked at the computer and it said I had 2000 miles left... I can't afford to get it serviced at the minute due to paying out for 4 new tyres, and probably won't be able to afford for at least 6 weeks because of living expenses!! Why has it done this early?? And will it be ok to run for 6 weeks without servicing it?? Thank you

thanks to all that contributed to this thread

I didn't intend to get V, I just wanted to know as I had 2 different lots of tyres, thank you for helping me

So if I can't find the label in the boot and haven't got a service book, I'll be safe and legal if I have a crash with V rated as they are highly rated?
-
current tyre sizes they are 205/60r15 - fronts are 91h rears are 91v
-
I can't find the code in the boot and I didn't get a service book with the car

I have been trawling through all my documents for my car - it says the cam-belt kit and water pump was last changed in December 2013 at 88,000miles I am now on 115,000miles and wondering what are the signs that it's on the way out??, I will be changing it in June but am hoping it will hold out until then! (fingers crossed) Will it randomly snap?, or will there be things that happen to the car indicating I should get it done ASAP.. Thanks

225/45R17 W 91 (Fitted to both the front and rear of the vehicle) 205/55R16 V 91 (Fitted to both the front and rear of the vehicle) 205/60R15 H 91 (Fitted to both the front and rear of the vehicle) These are the options I have been given

So get 91h or 91v on all four tyres? I am meant to be getting them fitted Tuesday and am still non the wiser!!
-
I wouldn't know how to check if they are an adequate load rating, do you recommend keeping them all the same when I change them or keep the front 2 different to the back 2?
-
Yes will be getting four new ones eventually, Backs will be done next week and fronts have a little longer on them - so maybe 4-6 weeks.
-
Thanks for recommending this website, exact same tyre but £16 a tyre cheaper!! http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/hankook/kinergy-eco-k425/205/60/R15/H/91/f?tyre=27530046 https://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/basket.php?update

I was on the verge of ordering new tyres but noticed that my fronts are 91h and backs are 91v, do I stick with this or change them all to the same? Thanks
-

do the same brands still apply now that I have stated my tyre size?
-
how much are we talking to buy from skoda compared to buying from ebay (I would prefer to pay a little extra and get it right)? I feel it is definitely worth buying a spare seeing as I haven't got 1
-
I have just looked at my tyres, they are 205/60r15, can now at least get more accurate pricing from you all!!
-
W ould prefer not to pay monthly and my budget is £70 a corner, but will be getting them fitted at a local shop which means variables..Would you class £70 a corner as medium price? I know some on here spend a lot of money (to me) for tyres but each to their own.

I am due new tyres soon, I don't want to break the bank but also don't want to do it cheap which medium priced brand do you recommend for Octavia estate?? Thanks
