When I start the engine up first thing in the morning the rev needle reads 1000rpm and sounds like it is struggling at idle, then after about 3 minutes of warming up it drops down to 900, is this normal?? The needle doesn't flicker it remains on either 10 or 9 Thanks

When I put the car into reverse one of the sensors stays on (red) on the screen as if something is behind me, I done it again an hour later and it worked fine, could someone of knocked the sensor on the bumper??

When I bought my car it didn't come with a spare tyre, where is best to buy 1 and how much am I looking at? Thanks

Yellow oil light (not flashing) has just come on - checked and it is low... Octavia 1.9tdi This subject has been done a thousand time I know..but what is a medium priced brand to use (isn't it all the same!!??) and what amount would you buy?? I'm guessing I'll need to use it again in the future so is it worth buying a 5L?

Sounds slightly similar to mine. Only rattles on start up in the morning and when I drop the clutch the noise seems to stop...

Spoke to soon!! I just found some CD albums that I must of saved to my laptop years ago - just tried putting them on my memory card and they are showing as MPEG-4 Audio!! AHHH !!

I've only noticed it on start up first thing in the morning, a rattling sound - as soon as I put the clutch to the floor it stops..Is it more than likely thrust bearing?? What signs shall I keep an eye out for regarding the clutch going?? This is my main concern as I dont want it to just give up on me... Also regarding prices for a new clutch, what seems reasonable?? After some time playing around with it I managed to get the songs on to the card and it works in my car aswell!!! Next step is how to organise them by artist/alphabetical order...

I've bought a 32GB/Kingston and I'm trying to get songs from my iPod to the card, I haven't got any songs in my itunes library or saved on my computer as I've always used a youtubetomp3 converter to convert the songs. All my songs are currently on 'my device' and it wont even let me drag and drop them....Any help please

Where is the best place to buy them? Halfords, or avoid them totally? I have a passenger side out and 3 of the tiny ones on top of the boot door..

If I'm having trouble finding a 1.9 diesel (mk2), what would the next best diesel engine to buy be?? the 1.6 (engine to small and sluggish?) or 2.0?? I really dont want to have to sway from buying a 1.9 but I might just have to if nothing comes up....

So frustrating looking for a new car, sometimes they may have everything your after (engine size, trim, colour etc...) then you read the ad further and it hasn't been looked after (service history)!!

Is the weight of the car a factor in the MPG of the estate or hatchback (Assuming the estate is heavier)? All I can seem to find on autotrader is estates but I dont need the extra room....

I doubt I'll ever find the model and year that I'm looking for with a budget of £4000 max..if im spending that much buying it - I dont want to be spending more money on cambelts, waterpumps and clutches. All the other cars coming up in my search results are all estates (would prefer a hatchback due to parking)..Does the hatchback and estate differ much in MPG as the estate is heavier??

Major service with a cambelt change, makes sense to change water pump aswell??...What about a new clutch??
