This Left Hand Drive Superb is in outstanding condition and is probably the cheapest in Europe at £14,449 ONO....Leather/auto/15K miles/Columbus/New MOT/ This car is different in a number of ways. Primarily it has the rare and powerful VAG 3.6L 260 hp engine that really eats up the miles in a refined and luxurious way with decent fuel economy relative to the size of the engine. Secondly it has what VAG called a twin door which means that the rear door can function as a hatchback or a normal boot.I can send you a photo of this if you would like These cars are unusual with the bigger engines and the DSG permanent 4 wheel drive. One recently for sale was an undercover CID car...which tells you something about its performance! It is a spacious and very comfortable car with most luxury accessories fitted such as leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic transmission, VAG Columbus navigation. It is a real pleasure to drive. I recently did a 8 hour trip in it and it was faultless. There are other extras fitted such as a boot and roof spoiler.wind deflectors, mud flaps etc but the 2 most significant changes made to it have been the updated LED lights which are super bright as can be seen in the photos and the wheel colour that was changed from the , more traditional silver, to black.The rear windows were tinted to give added privacy and reduce sun glare etc.Its a bit like a Christmas tree with all the extras even Skoda puddle lights! The car has FSSH and was most recently serviced by Skoda in Germany (November 2016) and the mileage (shown in KMS) can also be verified with Skoda. It has a private number S16SUP that will stay on the car and the car will come with a new MOT If you are looking for a car to use in Europe you will not find the equivalent model cheaper with such low mileage and extras etc. In Germany where these cars are used more extensively you will not find one for less that Eur 20,000 with probably 3 times the mileage. It is an unusual car in this condition and does create surprise with its good looks and outstanding performance.   4. I can confirm that You are correct that it is from China. I have the same unit fitted in a Dodge Ram SRT-10 that replaced the original outdated unit.Mine works ok but I did need to buy an aerial booster/amplifier to get good radio (FM) reception. Mine does not link with sensors but you can fit a rear view camera in it which does work very well if ,indeed, you need one.
  5. I am surprised that the administrator has not toned down some of the needlessly aggressive comments from forum members? We all have different levels of expertise and understanding so seek differing views and experiences.I find this a good and helpful forum and it would be a pity if it became less effective/helpful.

  7. Personally I would leave it until just before Easter so stretch it a few months and probably look for another dealer as the one you use does not seem competent.I am sure a forum member can recommend someone good local to you?
  8. I suppose it depends on what you want to get from the replacement unit? If you buy a used unit , as above, you may need a radio unlock code...maybe the seller has it but these can also be obtained online for 10-20. Also I wonder if the used unit comes with the map dvd? Just my 10 cents worth
  9. Some things I forgot. Keep the yellow breakdown vests in the car and easily accessible as the Austrian Police sometimes fine you if they are not "easily accessible"! You need a vignette/ sticker to drive on Austrian motorways...its only Euros 8 which is for 10 days i think. You might also be able to take snow chains in lieu of winter tyres but best to check.
  10. Brussels/Bonn/Frankfurt/Nuremberg has worked well. This takes you on faster German autobahn and also avoids any tolls that the French will try and squeeze out of you at the start! You will probably, legally, have to have winter tyres in Vienna and Germany. In Vienna the car parking can be really quite expensive...40-50 Euros a day in the centre by the Opera House....there is great underground parking at Karlsplatz.. a short walk away that is (or was) a third of this price. All my cars have uneconomical large engines that slurp up petrol so can't help you on that one.Although in Germany it is always better to go off the motorway to an Autohof where the fuel is usually a bit cheaper.Apologies if I am telling you stuff you already know.

  12. Thanks very much for your helpful, and clear reply. I think that the problem (unfortunately) may be me and my lack of understanding of how the lights actually work with the cornering lights etc! When I checked the lights ,post installation, the car was in a different position than when I checked them later so this may explain it as all the bulbs etc work. I will keep my eye on them today and if necessary will disconnect the battery as advised.Thanks again
  13. Update....if I move the light switch with to the left the DRLs work...is this normal as I assumed they worked with the "Auto function" too? With the DRLs only the front lights illuminate? Now one of the fog lights does not work (UK passenger side) swapped bulbs over and nothing..so not a problem with the bulb so a wiring or fuse fault. Is there a separate fuse for the passenger side foglight ? In my defense it is a Left hand drive car with the owners manual in a language I don't understand...so yes that will be my next purchase :|
  14. After reading a number of article on this forum I decided to upgrade my DRLs for these http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT . I watched a video on youtube on how to change them and it was a satisfyingly easy job for someone with (ahem) limited technical ability.Straight change over ...everything fine. Looked very nice...brighter and cleaner.This afternoon I go to move the car and the DRLs are not functioning but there is no warning light either? I double checked that the drl option is enabled and then even replaced one bulb with the original but still nothing? I checked all the normal fuses(not the very large ones) and they were all ok..so a bit frustrated really and welcome any advice from the less inept! Many thanks
