Retrofit heated steering wheel
I bought the following parts now: - Steering wheel: OEM 3V0419091ADBGW [cars-equipment.com - 727 EUR] - Clock spring: OEM 5Q0953569C (Valeo part number: 251714) [eBay.de - 200 EUR] - Kufatec adapter: 43696-1 [kufatec.com - 50 EUR] I plan to reuse my airbag as I've confirmed it's the same. The steering wheel is with perforated lether, DSG controls, white stitching, flat bottom, white LEDs and obviously, has heating. The reason I went with that clock spring and not the ones ending in 549C was that I found someone with factory fitted heated steering wheel and they had this part number. All that's left is to find a fuse adapter and a VCDS to code all of this. Waiting on a nice sunny weekend to spend the day with this.

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
Actually, the 3rd smaller Cruze control stalk has can adjust the ACC distance... Would this be impacted by the change?

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
I got the initial tip from a danish page: https://vagcars.dk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=120516&start=210#p1474985 And then someone I asked if they can help with coding (who has done them a few times) pointed towards the same issue... Not sure what to believe now because all these posts point to Octavias being updated to this, not Superbs. As you said, I don't have any front assist or ACC controls on the stalks... and I have 3 of them.

I'm sorry I meant the wiper/turn stalks

Heated Steering Wheel RESTROFIT
Hey - did you get it done afterall? Any problems with the front assist after that? I'm researching and it looks like the wiper arms may need changing too

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
Thanks for confirming! Another one I just came across from someone else is potentially having to change the wiper arms as well... I am a bit disappointed by this since it seems to grow into something much bigger than anticipated... Anyone with front assist that had this retrofit done can confirm?

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
Okay so I'm at a stage where I'm waiting for the following parts to arrive: Steering wheel with heat and DSG paddles from the same generation car (O3, S3) Slip ring Valeo 251714 OE 5Q0953569C Kufatec wiring loom 43696 I decided to go with the same generation steering wheel to avoid needing the 200EUR LIN adapter that's needed on the new generation ones (will have to sell the already purchased O4 steering wheel) Now this O3/S3 steering wheel comes without switches, airbag and trim. The vendor confirmed my airbag and trim will fit but claims I need to change my switches (because my current wheel has no flappy paddles. Would anyone know if that's really true? Anyone who already took those apart who knows how they each connect and why I might need new switches (supposedly because the new steering wheel has DSG paddles)?

New look heated steering wheel retrofit
Found anything here after all? I am in the process of researching this. Already ordered steering wheel and kufatec cable.

MFSW with Heating & Gear Shift Paddles Retrofitting to a late 2018 Skoda Superb III DSG Estate)
Can you elaborate a bit on this? Also I do see yours has a lank button on the top right. I'm researching this upgrade for my superb but I see more and more ways it can go wrong...

So I should be going for 549 like @Purpletom suggests. Please note the 4. Where are you checking these?

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
So I just got two different suggestions for a clock spring. The 569C is almost double the price and can't find anything lower than 240EUR while the others can be found for less than 100EUR. If the sellers have true pictures, both of these have 14 pins with 2 being slightly larger. Which one do you think I should go for? Have you guys used both of those succesfully? @ApertureS - have you?

How To: Retrofit a heated steering wheel to a mk3 Octavia
Awesome post! I am researching a way to do it on my 2019 Superb and I find this very useful! 1. In an attempt to anticipate all possible issues, any idea if the clock spring would be the same on cars like my superb which has a 3rd stalk for cruise control? 2. Is the Kufatec loom the same for LHD? 3. I suppose there's no need to tear down the console and glove box on a european car since the fusebox is on the left...? I'm considering this steering wheel now: https://www.ebay.de/itm/403800674571?hash=item5e0465510b:g:NQMAAOSww9Vi4Xu3&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0D1ElG7KPbNRg6dWAzW09h7VV16CrmnF%2B6m99cDZHfVCvYbpocl4SnVovyCY8QpRyHPVGjgpPUZFyYkWKOM8FYo0HpxgVayJx5R10lWRBnsvPGjRWG9TALqbT9TNrPSCRE3zH4WU6bvPZkv2pupniZc1nB14d1IdS5IhASgnt0LBodzUSrzWNIsWG1gBFzlFY%2BR80EQx5xjB8W99r6YJ92DCyMkE2gGsIkLfDwCzDspOT9iQuqsk1wAt3q%2FlWqyOZx8XqrUKMh18ZVlVazclxOA%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4Skg9-lYw Would I have to give up my current 3-stalk setup?

Retrofit heated steering wheel
I can't find a thread about retrofitting a heated steering wheel. I just came across this video and while I am not crazy about the alcantara wheel, I really want to get the same version on leather just for the heating. Would anyone know some part numbers and potentially adaptations required to enable this in the infotainment? I'm a fresh owner of a 2019 Superb with loads of equipment 💪

Retrofit reverse camera
I used the supplied cables. I only made some of my own wires to ensure they can all reach the relay location at the back of the taillight. I don't remember... But I used slightly thicker wires than you would see on the camera power wire just to be sure.

I can confirm that with my setup, I get no interference - regardless of headlights or if the rear wiper is being used.

Key won't turn anymore...
It sits with Skoda right now and they intend to change the steering lock. Will get a quote soon but the intention is to order it from the factory and have it custom made to my key via the VIN number.

Ignition key won't turn
Reviving this one a bit if I may... Wiilydog, I'm facing the exact same behavior now. Was there any coding involved when you changed the barrel and the lock? Does the car unlock with the new key now or how does it work?

Key won't turn anymore...
Haven't thought about brake cleaner 🤔 i could give that a try. The key does go in all the way. It just won't turn... Only slightly till the radio turns on but not the dash or anything else.

Key won't turn anymore...
Tried that too. No luck

Key won't turn anymore...
Went shopping earlier today and upon reaching the store, i could not turn off the engine (key was stuck)... After w bit of wiggling I eventually managed to turn it off. Hop back in and drove home, the key needed a bit of wiggling to get it to the ignition on position... However started and drove home... Got home and thought I'd try it out a few more times and now i can't turn they key at all. Won't even go to acc position... Also, the steering lock isn't engaged and now the wheels can turn even if the key is not in... - tried both keys, same behavior - tried spraying in electrical spray, no help So I'm guessing either the key lock is faulty or the steering lock cylinder? Any experience with this?

Retrofit reverse camera
Sounds good! Și basically you ran it all to the front of the car where there's plenty of 12v and grounding places but how did you figure out that one cable was 12v while in reverse only?

Retrofit reverse camera
Finally this project is over after 3 months away from my car I managed to tap into the 12V feed for the rear wiper. You can find that in the beige connector just above the left wheel arch. It's the purple/black wire. For convenience, the connector can be removed from the bracket by pulling it upwards. Then, for the relay - I managed used its built-in bracket to screw it on one of the taillight unit bolts like in the picture below - nice and snug Overall I think this location for the relay is much better than inside the boot lid because it can be easily serviced (should you ever need to). It's much harder to remove the inner boot lid plastic cover and fit it back in without replacing some metal clips. I went for the relay solution to prevent the camera from being on all the time. I could have directly tapped into the wiper cable and have it on all the time.... but I'd rather not burn through all its lifecycle every time I drive forward just so it's ready for the few seconds of use going backwards. Works as a charm. The relay engages when I'm sticking it in reverse so the camera is only on when in reverse but feeding off the rear wiper circuit. Hope this helps future enthusiasts. PS: Prepare at least 5-6 new metal clips for the boot lid inner cover to go back in properly or at least use something to make sure they sit straight and snug when attempting to fit it back in. (I learned it the hard way)
