  1. Just checked, and I joined in 2006, when I bought my first Skoda. I was never a very active poster and even less so now, but I did manage to go on a couple of briski trips (Prague & Nürburgring). Wishing that could be done again, but it would be more costly now.
  2. I took the switch out, and although clicking it wasn't making contact. I also found I could actuate the boot by using a wire to bypass the switch. I didn't want to wait for one from China so ordered this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165140806387 which came a couple of days later. Put it in yesterday and now have a working boot switch again.
  3. I just came on to see if there was any advice for this. Same age of car, and the boot switch no longer working. I've been blaming it sitting outside in torrential rain a few weeks ago. It did the same about a year ago, but you could eventually get it to work if you tried enough. This time it's just not working and I'm having to use the button on the key to open it. I did wonder about the wiring, because if you open the tailgate with the car still running, the rear wiper comes on ( which I'm pretty sure it shouldn't!-) but it's been doing that for a long time which is why I'm thinking it's maybe just the switch, or at least it was last time.
  4. In case someone else finds it useful, I've just disconnected and changed the battery without any alarms/horns sounding when disconnecting the old one, or connecting the new one. I could have sworn it did at some point last time, but my memory may have been playing tricks (again),
  5. I'm about to change the battery in my car. The last time I did it was 8.5 years ago (so can't really complain too much!-) If I remember correctly, after disconnecting the battery last time, the horn (might have been the alarm, but it was a while ago) started beeping. I guess it must have some sort of backup battery, but is there a way to prevent it going off? I don't remember what I did last time, maybe just annoyed the neighbours until the new battery was connected. I guess the usual things to try like locking & unlocking the car won't work without a battery connected.
  6. I might be able to come to this. I won't put my name down yet though. How much (if any) notice do you need if I do come?
  7. Without maxidot, it looks like 3C8 isn't an option http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285082-3c8035730c-bluetooth-module-bolero-and-no-maxidot-help/?p=3377942 so you've (hwl100) probably got the right kit and hopefully you won't have any phone book on bolero issues. I'm not sure how much of an issue it is. I just thought I'd try the 3C8 because it might avoid it.
  8. I was just going by http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/268469-oem-bluetooth-teething-probs/?p=3190913 http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/273790-bolero-head-unit-1z0-035-156f-blaupunkt-with-code/?p=3237867 My bolero is 1Z0 035 156F so decided to try the 3C8 option.
  9. I would have been, but bit the bullet and already ordered one (which I am told will work with maxidot and wiper stalk controls).I didn't go for the 7P6... option because a few people on here have had problems with the phone book not showing correctly on the bolero and my bolero seems to be the older type this can happen with.
  10. I'm interested in this as well (2010 octavia with bolero & maxidot but no MFSW). I've noticed that some sellers say that you must have maxidot and MFSW to pair the phone if using the 3C8035730C option. Is this really true, or can the stalk buttons be used instead? I'm really wondering if its worth going for the premium/rsap option.
  11. Just keep going towards the clearing. You have my thoughts and best wishes.
  12. It was good to put some names to faces, even if I did forget them 2 seconds later.
  13. I said the car has an "Up to 61AH" battery because it did until it was about 2.5 years old. After leaving it for a fortnight it was a bit slow to start, but it then got a run of 140 miles, so I expected that to sort it out. In the following days I heard strange "boing" sounds from the car which I now believe was it warning me the battery was low. A few days later it was completely flat. Even charging it for several hours wasn't enough let the starter motor turn the engine over, so I replaced the battery with a 70AH one. It's been fine since.
  14. Mine was delivered on Thursday but I didn't have time to do anything with it. I've now unpacked it and tested that it works, which it does! I might have time tomorrow to see about mounting it in the car. Thanks to Richard for organising everything.
