  1. Digital? Nah. It's hands-free!
  2. As an alternative, has anyone considered playing vintage Hoagy LPs on a portable turntable connected via the Usb port and aux input?
  3. The back doors are about 1/4 inch out of line with the rear panel, spoiling the smooth lines of the car. Or is it just my vehicle?
  4. Ouch. Hope you're Ok. Get treatment for that neck as soon as you can.
  5. On a Mac, I dragged tracks from iTunes collection onto a desktop folder, and thence onto the SD card. Album artwork appears on the Amundsen unit just fine.
  6. I had mine retro fitted last month. Hortons did it for £220. As well as the wheel, there is a jack, wheel brace and various bits all neatly fitted into moulded polystyrene shapes that utilises the space around the wheel and helps hold it in place. The kit also comes with a lower fitting floor carpet for the boot storage space. i thought of buying just a spare wheel online but being a first-time Yeti owner, I was afraid I would stuff something up. there have been other recent posts on this, and one kind chap offering some spare wheel kit.

    Roof bars

Agreed. But are the official Skoda bars, well worth the money at the Skoda dealer's price, or only when picked up second-hand for £70?

    Roof bars

Thanks. Do these lock only into the Skoda's bars slots, or can they be locked onto any part of the bars?
  9. My Yeti was built in January 2017. I have read conflicting accounts as to whether or not the Maxdot can be reconfigured to Australian via the VCDS on latest models. My concern, if mine could be so configured, is how a Skoda dealer would regard this, as I have taken out a PCP. Would I likely be allowed to do this under the PCP agreement? Would I need to reconfigure back to British before handing the car in?

    Roof bars

Can anyone recommend cost-effective roof bars to go with the Yeti Outdoor. Skoda's own make retail at £100-plus? Plenty of alternative online, but are they any good?
  11. Last month, I was in a similar situation. I didn't order my new Yeti with a spare wheel. I looked on ebay etc for a spare wheel, but, following insights of Briskodians, I decided to do things properly (I have, after all, invested a lot of hard-earned on a first-rate vehicle) and got Horton's to retro fit the spare wheel kit. This weekend, I took my first proper look. The kit comes with moulded spacers, in which there are storage nooks and crannies, that helps hold the wheel and maximises space. Also included are the jack, brace and bits to be able to expedite a wheel change. Although I kicked myself for not pre-ordering (it would have been cheaper), I consider the retro-fit wheel kit by Horton's to be a very good investment.... especially if I never need to use it.
  12. Good point. On my previous car, Nissan Note, I could easily toggle up and down in units of 1mph without having to reset the CC. The speed was also shown digitally on the dashboard display. My new Yeti is much less flexible CC wise. I don't the Yeti speedo.Being measured in units of 20 mph, I have to look down carefully to ensure I am keeping to 30 or 70 mph. The only digital speed display on the Maxdot is in kph. Is it possible to change it to mph?
  13. Yeti arrived yesterday. Share the joy! Relieved to discover, the colours work for me. Have also worked out how to toggle the SatNav directions onto the Maxidot. Phew!
  14. Three days after taking delivery of my new Yeti Outdoor 1.2 manual, I took it for a maiden voyage. Having found out how to set the MaxDot, and discovering the cruise control, I recorded the following. 150 miles (about 130 on A roads and motorways) average speed 58mph (never going above 70) and 38 mpg. I have just moved from a Nissan Note, where the same journey would work out about 48mpg. I know there are variables and that car brochures dont give real world mph figures, but am worried that I have a car thats going to be costlier than I thought to run. Can somebody please assure me that the Yeti mpg will improve once it has run in and perhaps, give me some indication as to how many miles I will need to do before that happens.

    Phone numbers

Thanks, the list in the above link was last updated in 2010, which means there's a whole host of phones not listed. There is a more recent list here http://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com Choosing the Yeti was much easier than picking a connectable 'smart' phone from which I am only wanting to make calls and not play games, surf the tinternet etc!
  16. Outdoor SE L Drive 1.2Tsi with added rear-view camera and retro-fit spare wheel took 12 weeks from emailed order form in November to home delivery last week.

    Phone numbers

I'm thinking so too, now. Discovered Yeti uses Bluetooth 4. Nokia on Bluetooth 3. Looks like I'll have to take the plunge and get a 'smart' phone.
  18. Our SE L Drive came yesterday. Today, it went to the bodyshop to be Autoglym waxed and the windows water repellanted. (Much cheaper than getting Skoda to do it.) It looks shinier than new. Enjoy yours.
  19. Yeti arrived yesterday. Share the joy! Relieved to discover, the colours work for me. Have also worked out how to toggle the SatNav directions onto the Maxidot. Phew!
  20. When I sync my contacts on my Nokia non-smart phone with the Amudsen infotainment centre on my new Yeti Outdoors, I can see a list of numbers, but not the names that belong to those numbers. Have tried re-importing a couple of times without success. Ia there a menu setting I have missed?
