  1. From my own experience I would say a sensor is duff. I had 4 of these in the space of 18 months - fortunately covered under extended warranty.
  2. NO - that is not the complaint I quoted in my original post. The fourth line in my original post makes it quite clear. My complaint is that I had to phone Allams to ask why I had been refunded - why did Allams not contact me (they had 2x Telephone numbers for me) and explain - I would call that Customer Service? I already knew that this part (Headlamp Protectors for an Elegance) was no longer available from Skoda - from my own MAIN DEALER. Allams were advertising this exact part on their website so I ordered it believing they had one from old stock. If Allams were relying on Skoda to fill the order it would have taken 30secs to check on a PC - as my Main Dealer did NOT 4 days. I also note that Allams are still advertising this part on their website??? Another interesting point is that Allams only refunded AFTER I had chased for a despatch time and tracking info. That was my complaint.
  3. Ordered part on Thursday 2nd June and money taken from Paypal immediately. Chased order yesterday by email asking when it would be despatched and tracking info. The only communication I had was from Paypal this morning telling me a refund had been made from Allams? Phoned Allams and told Skoda no longer supply - would have been nice ( Customer Service ) had Allams taken the trouble to email or phone me to tell me!! I will not order anything else from them.
  4. I totally agree - I also have a main dealer warranty on my 2.5 V6 no problems with claims. Mine costs £350 per year and includes Skoda Assist so in my opinion much better than Warranty Direct.
  5. Did you remove the two bungs under the battery tray/brake servo when the mod was done. If so I cant see why water would collect there?
  6. I'm not so sure it is automatically the dreaded pollen filter causing this. I have had issues with this for some time when the weather temp changes over night. I seem to remember somewhere on this site someone said that leaving the vents open so that cool air can enter the car overnight can cause this. However how do you turn theser off or is it you just close them up?
  7. I agree with skodanut - take a Dealer warranty out. Mine cost £350 for the year and included Skoda assist. Good value in my opinion. You can negotiate the price to a certain extent.
  8. I believe you need to rermove the side trim in the boot and you will see some sort of release lever to open the flap manually.
  9. I have the 2.5 V6 and I would not have bought any other model (not even the so called best buy 1.9) - it is great and def worth any additional cost of maintenance. I do not do high miles the car is Nov 05 and has 36k on the clock.
  10. Sounds like the Manufacturer ext warranty as I have - inc Skoda assist.
  11. make sure you have the mod on the Pollen Filter carried out as per the sticky "Water ingress solved" - not that expensive and well worth the prevention better than cure scenario.
  12. I couldn't agree more - "Smooth" or "bag of nails" really.
  13. Just replacing the pollen filter does NOT cure the water ingress problem. Check out the "sticky" about water Ingress solved in the main Superb 1 menu.
  14. Same with me - I always have to input the code.
  15. If it is just the chrome bit then super glue it back on - I asked the cost of replacement and was told around £80. I then used super glue as the edge was lifting - job done.
  16. I agree with all Fred's comments - I love the car.
  17. Thanks ap0gee I thought that if the fault was in the brakes circuit the warning was "Brake Lights failure" ?? Have checked pushing brake pedal on and off for what seemed an hour? - and all worked fine? Regards
