  1. I’ve been using the blind spot fuse to piggy back for my dash cam for a few years now, no issues at all I’m sure you’ll be fine 🙂
  2. Thanks, I’ll email them and ask for it all. I’ve got the MySkoda app but I suppose if I were to sell the car it’d be better to have it all on paper. Glad you found a repair shop, sounds similar to Volkservice. You don’t get a coffee and a paper if you decide to wait but it’s cheeeap!
  3. Best of luck finding a good one, the only thing I haven’t worked out yet is how to get a copy of all the “digital” service records... I don’t have a book or any physical copy of the cars history as Simpsons Skoda do it all electronically
  4. 2 things that might be of interest: I have a 220 petrol Superb and my engine makes a similar noise at similar revs, always has done, I thought it just sounded like the air intake or something changing pressure...? My fuel lines buzz like hell at about 2000rpm sometimes, it’s because of vibration - they aren’t clipped in place they just run inside a metal channel under the car. I used some strong metallic tape to fix them in place but the sound has recently returned - gonna try some expanding foam or something
  5. I use Volkservice in Blackpool, they use genuine parts / follow VAG service instruction, just their labour is about half the price of Skoda My car is a 16 plate so it’s out of warranty
  6. If it’s not leaking, it sounds like the same problem on my old car. There was only one pump and when you switched from front/rear all it did was activate a little mechanism that blocked one pipe and opened the other. I fixed it by emptying the tank (just keep spraying) and then put hot water in from the kettle and keep switching between front and back. It was just a bit stuck and it was fine after that 👍
  7. I bought it like that from Rieger, I think they do gloss black and matte (bare plastic). They do 4 versions in each I think: 1) 220bhp version like mine with no visible tailpipes; sensor holes and new sensor brackets included. 2) same as above but with tow bar hole precut 3) Same as 1) but 4x4 (visible tailpipes) version 4) Same as 2) but 4x4 (visible tailpipes) version
  8. It’s actually moon white metallic to match the car (not that it matters, basic white would look good I guess) but Superskoda sell them in most paint codes 😊 http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-original-Skoda-emblem-INT-version-FRONT
  9. Revo stage 1 was done couple of years ago now, and lockdown means I need a project so thought I’d make my Superb a bit more fun. The other day I fitted the R600 intake with foam filter option. I wasn’t expecting much but it sounds meatier and whilst I’m not too sure about power it certainly feels smoother at least, especially whilst going through the gears which feels much much better to drive. As you know the 220 comes with terribly designed bent tipped hidden exhausts for no apparent reason, but since the intake upgrade the car is producing some nice muted DSG farts which aren’t loud or stupid...but the exhausts are hidden so it’s all wrong in my head lol So I’ve also ordered the Rieger rear skirt in gloss black, bolts and washers, 2 exhaust connectors (similar to the VAG ones that clamp the Superb exhaust together between cat and mid-silencer) and a couple of black oval Scirrocco R style exhaust tips. My plan is to get rid of the bent down tips and fit the exhaust tips, neatly tucked into the Rieger skirt, not hanging down or sticking out. I saw the exhausts thread that someone had lowered their back boxes by an inch or 2 with longer bolts, then fitted tips. It’s a really simple idea and once I know it all works for the 220 I will post all the parts I used, measurements and everything. For now I’ve just ordered everything I need, but the 2 main components are pictured....let me know what you think
  10. I hope you & your families are safe and well. I'm working from home and we're all good here 👍 Update on my Superb whilst it's resting on the driveway until (insert coronavirus end date here). As you may know I had a REVO stage 1 applied about 2 years ago now, which brought the 220 up to "300+" according to REVO, but it's never been rolling road tested. It accelerates much faster and has better overtaking power, etc etc. No official figures so I'm not claiming anything 🙂 Eventually I familiarised myself with the new characteristics, but lost confidence in the brakes so I fitted OE replacement brembo drilled discs and their brembo max pads (or something). These are much, much better with no corrosion. Did the same on the back, not drilled. Much more brake dust unfortunately, but at least I won't die. I replaced the elbow air inlet with a smooth metal one from MTC along with the silicone hose. This made a surprisingly huge difference, so I got carried away and replaced the airbox with a Pipercross Viper intake..... Earlier last year the car was going very well indeed, until in the word of Richard Hammond, "it developed a misfire" and I took it to ADS in Preston, where the REVO map was done. Turned out to be self-inflicted. The chavvy Viper intake was just too open I think. It was filtered but in-line and the airflow was causing issues, with standard turbo/exhaust etc. ADS replaced the spark plugs with "RS7" ones, and replaced the PCV - some breather/egr thing on top of the engine as there was a newer version. They also changed the oil/filter. I replaced the stupid intake with standard airbox, with snow guard out and a Ramair panel filter. Since ownership I've had Dunlop SportMaxx RT2, Michelin PS4S, and now Michelin PS4 fitted. PS4S are the best, but PS4 are a good balance with comfort for the Superb. More recently I've had a few issues... A chipped NS headlight led to it filling with moisture. Skoda extended warranty did not cover it or help at all, fair enough... I bought a "like-new" replacement from eBay and had the local garage (Volkservice, Blackpool) fit it for £80. Whilst in with Volkservice, they showed me that both of my front shocks are leaking - he said eventually it'll fail MOT and his quote was £750 😒 They also found the leak, which was coming from the coolant regulator pump, I asked them to replace it which cost £610 😒 The coolant regulator pump was a surprise - I didn't know the Superb had no "water pump" driven by the cambelt like usual. Saved me some money I guess as my car's around 65k miles now. I've neglected the car a bit for the past year or so as I had "head problems" due to a big change in circumstances. I'm getting there and the car is healthy so I'm going to use all this time self-isolating at home to give it a proper detail. When I've got the money I'll get the front shocks replaced and then hopefully nothing else will pop up 🙂 Stay safe everyone and thanks to anyone who's working in the NHS / volunteering orgs
  11. Hi, Off on holiday this week with our 2 dogs. I am constantly worried about the stupid tailgate button - pressing it by accident at traffic lights etc and the dogs would jump out. Tried looking for a fuse but the manual says the same fuse is required for washer jets... Anyone know another way of deactivating it? I would unplug the switch but I have no idea how to remove the gloss black panel around the gear selector. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I don’t get anywhere they’ll be going on the back seats. Thanks
