  1. Hi all Due to my health I’m probably going to have to part with my much loved Superb. I bought the car for commuting but I’m now on long term sick leave and doubt I’ll be going back. This is just an FYI thread for now, but feel free to contact me if there’s anything you have your eye on so that if the time comes I can be fair with ppl Just thought I’d let you all know it’s a possibility so if you’re interested in anything I’ve added over the years or indeed the whole car, please let me know. Unmarked 19” wheels with PS4S all round will be available to SWAP Eibach 15mm spacers x4 Steering wheel with paddles to SWAP Dynamic sweeping mirror indicators R600 intake MTC intake hose & turbo elbow Racingline turbo muffler delete Rear bumper conversion (Rieger skirt with Scirrocco R tips) Rear spoiler if it comes off in one piece Front fog frames if they come off ok Mudflaps Travall rubber boot liner Travall car specific dog guard Loads and loads and loads of bits from Superskoda e.g. tinted rear reflectors, boot lights, puddle lights, pedals... As you know my car has been looked after very well indeed and I’ll be sorry to see it go but it may as well go to someone else who can enjoy it rather than sitting around.. Car has stage 1 Revo remap and all the L&K goodies plus sunroof It also has a Pandora system fitted which works with KESSY and includes secure remote engine start from upto a mile away. All the best
  2. Not sure, I would have thought any products bought with MasterCard are protected, regardless of the mechanism ie Sagepay / PayPal / tillpoint Similarly, buying anything through PayPal is protected by their resolution centre regardless of the type of card you pay with ie visa / debit / MasterCard / Amex
  3. Bear in mind that even if Superskoda site is not secure your payment will be, because PayPal uses proper encryption. PayPal in my opinion is the safest way to pay online. Pay via PayPal with a MasterCard and you’re backed up to the hilt 👍
  4. My memory seats were wiped/disabled twice by valeters. I looked it up online and fixed it fine by doing this: Move seat base all way forward, then press a few times once it’s stopped to make sure it’s gone all the way. Move seat base all way backward, then do the same. That’s it - I didn’t touch any other switches for height/angle/anything Edit: before you try storing positions again, switch off ignition and lock the car for 2 mins. I can’t remember if the ignition was on or off for resetting the seat memory but try both
  5. Appreciate it isn’t even Skoda related never mind Superb III but to conclude the thread... Today we put a deposit down on a Benimar Mileo 231. 20 plate, just registered on Thursday! It’s a Fiat Ducato cab with proper 9 speed auto box (new model without the horrid robotised “comfortmatic” gearbox). 2.3 litre Diesel engine, 150bhp 💨 There was 4K off in the “sale” but negotiated down another 2K plus them fitting a roll-out side awning included. The infotainment system looks pretty basic/cheap compared to ours in terms of GUI but it has European camper van sat nav which is cool - you can dial in your dimensions and any onboard hazards (flammable gas etc) and it’ll plot your route making sure you’ll fit / are allowed etc. Looking at some YouTube vids it also looks like it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too which will be a nice bonus if it’s standard. Full alarm/tracker plus a solar panel that can run the electrics for about 5 days from full before the battery gets low. So we can do a bit of off gridding but I’ve got my 4G router so I can still annoy you all with my posts 😉 Thanks again for the advice
  6. I guess anything is doable but the cost is sometimes the barrier. Hope someone comes along with a useful answer, but I’m interested - are there no car thefts in Finland?!
  7. What did you order? The lights themselves aren’t on that site posted above, unless they’ve now sold out
  8. How can it be a straight swap? There is no indicator wiring to the middle lights on pre-facelift...
  9. For the record I’m interested in this and willing to pay many monies if someone can bodge together a wiring harness 👍 I don’t have RVC
  10. As VAG like to share, I’m sure it’s probably similar to the Golf GTE that my friend had a couple of yrs ago. With that, I believe you had to select B each time, it wouldn’t remember it
  11. Renault does this and it is a nice feature, but the trade off is....well, having a Renault Touching the door handle isn’t really hassle, and I believe you can do something with VCDS and even Carista where once the engine is switched off and all doors are closed the car locks itself immediately. Useful for some but useless for me because then I have to unlock it all again to get the dogs / shopping out, unless you leave your door open until finished.
  12. Thanks for all the advice it is greatly appreciated. We went to Preston Caravans yesterday, unfortunately it being our first “look round” one of these places we were disappointed with the lack of help and strange lack of courtesy So we went to Marquis instead, and have ended up falling in love with a new small MH. We haven’t committed or anything but after seeing the size of some caravans and the whole weight thing - plus my lack of any towing experience - I don’t think touring caravans are for us. For those who do tow a caravan, you’ve got some balls. The size and width of some of them is absolutely stupid! 😆😂
  13. I won’t buy a diesel again - DPF issues on my last car, good mpg but buying a car for its mpg is ridiculous. Buy the car you want, you’ll find the money to run it unless it’s a V8... I do around 20k miles a year in my TSI and get around 38mpg commuting on the motorway, 31mpg mixed. I spend upto £400 a month on petrol but it makes me smile. I can start the car quietly and get warm quickly, without the tractor sound ruining the peace and making everything rattle. Petrol smells nice too 👍 Edit: I may have to buy a diesel camper van, can’t find a TSI! 😆
  14. I passed in 2009 I haven’t towed anything at all before Yes 1430 was what I found too I think the GVW is 2050KG? MTPLM of the smaller Swift we like is around 1500KG which I guess is far too heavy 😞 MH option is looking more attractive at this point!
  15. The MH we were looking at was ~£52K new but we’d definitely rent one for a week or 2 to see whether we like it Tbh if we went for it we’d probably look for something similar but used under £45K. Saw this tonight which has the layout we like: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202002067031164?atmobcid=soc4 We’re off to Preston Caravans & Motorhomes on Thursday to have a look at each option. Whatever we go for it’ll be sub-3500KG and if it’s a caravan I’d rather stay close to 85% but I reckon that’ll be a challenge.. Thanks for the satellite info and Spain situation, hadn’t thought of that.
  16. Thanks for that, I’ve been reading a lot today! It turns out that instead of us just wanting the biggest caravan available, the Swift Sprite Major 4 EB is plenty big enough. Weight (MTPLM): 1476kg which seems much more sensible. Going to go have a look some point soon and see what the options are all about - satellite TV is not at the top of our list but for some reason it’s around £2000! Air con is £1500 but that might ruin the weight situation.
  17. Hi, So after a pretty difficult year which was then followed by this Covid nightmare, I’ve decided to make a few changes in life. I’m quitting my job in IT to start a vehicle wrapping business amongst other things! We also started looking at camper vans, with a view to touring around the UK and Europe as far as the Spanish coast. I quickly realised that it’d be necessary to have another vehicle to get around in once set up. The total cost of a new, posh 2 berth camper van (e.g. Autotrail Tribute) PLUS something like a Citigo etc would be around £60,000.... We looked at cheaper options like the Autotrail Adventure which is cool but doesn’t have the floor space for us and 2 little dogs really, and I doubt you can tow anything with a van like that. Now we’ve had a look at a few caravans, and we really like the 2020 Swift Elegance Grande 850 which is around £35,000. It has absolutely tonnes of space for us. Plus, all the rattling nick-nacks will be in the caravan, and not in the same vehicle as me, making me rage. Can my Superb 220 tow a caravan like this? Including a tow bar and all the other bits we’d need would still be well under £40k. Just hoping I don’t need to buy a better tow car - in that case the Camper van and Citigo would be cheaper! I don’t really understand the towing limits, braked vs unbraked, and whether you can even get a ‘braked’ caravan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
  18. Exactly this! A long burst of full beam AFS Xenons to the face usually helps them realise they look ridiculous Fog light w*nkers could be put to a stop, by having ONE switch for “all fog lights.” I bet they wouldn’t want to be seen driving in normal conditions with rear fogs on, people might think they’re clueless & uncool...
  19. I’ve had a Revo stage 1 done on my 220. I’ve been roasted on here in the past for quoting Revo’s figures and my new 0-60 times, so all I will say is It’s worth it, get it done
  20. I had Skoda on the left with the Revo plus badges underneath, and Superb on the right with TSI underneath. It looked a bit busy, and I think it’s classier to keep people guessing 😆
  21. i went for black and white to match the rest but would like to see a white car with devilish details 👹 I reckon it’d look good
  22. No prob, I have one of these wired in which is very neat with no obvious camera on display: https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/series-1-dash-cams/rear-view-mirror-dash-cam/ The downsides are that the mirror no longer dims (but it’s tinted, so minimal glare anyway), and also it’s quite a bit bigger than the standard mirror - but I always thought the Superb’s rvm was too small anyway 🙂 I will get a photo of it installed today in case you’re interested
