  1. Thanks guys. No doubt it will be back in a similar state in no time... And yes it smells much better now.
  2. Today I washed my father in laws ashtray on wheels. I could of spent another 3-4 hours on it.
  3. I have a strong feeling that Ogier will reign supreme again this year. The C3 just wasn't right for him. Toyota line up looks as impressive as Hyundais in my opinion. Rovenpera making the step up from The Skoda Fabia R5 in WRC2 will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the full WRC.
  4. First wash of the year ahead of Tuesdays Service and MOT.
  5. Pick up the new bike today. All set to go.
  6. I can confirm that this cycle carrier does not fit on the hatchback rapid.
  7. I cycle to work, it's only 1.75 mile and takes under 9 minutes to get there. Quite a few hills on the way to work so coming home is quicker, more like 7 minutes.
  8. Would something like this work? Summit SUM-613 Rear Bike Cycle Carrier https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XJV558S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EhpIDbJQ5CNRG
  9. The bike weights around 15kg. Helicopter tape isn't something I've used before but looks like a good idea.
  10. Is there a rear bike rack that fits the rapid or does rear window cause issues. I don't have a tow bar so those ones aren't an option. The roof rack ones are too expensive for the rare occasion I need a bike rack. What's the best solution?
  11. I've been cycling to work since we moved a new yard further away from my house earlier this year. Been using my old Diamondback Topanga which I've had since I was 15. That's 20 years ago. It's served well and done many hundreds of miles. Probably thousands actually. It's being retired after one more week at work. I've ordered a new bike through my employers cycle to work scheme, a Voodoo Aizan 29er. Seems to fit my needs pretty well and a decent upgrade on my old bike. Its saving me from adding up to a 1000 miles on the clock on my Rapid per year. Improving my fitness level too.
  12. So today I was tasked with cleaning my father in laws Toyota Yaris. Unfortunately he doesn't look after his car like I do and had my work cut out. He pretty much uses the door buckets as an ash tray and the drink holders and the floor and door sills... You get the idea. Cleaning the car is almost an alien concept to him. I cleared out all the litter and started with vacuuming, I used various interior cleaners throughout and upholstery cleaner. Inside was definitely worse than outside although the exterior hadn't seen shampoo and water (other than rain in months. The paintwork was quite dirty, road salt/grit, bird droppings, tar spots etc... It got a good clean wirh with pH neutral shampoo, removed the tar spots. Then dried off and applied a coat of paint sealant. After the paint sealant was done I applied a good detailing spray.
  13. Not too unlike Škodas quartz grey, a little darker maybe.
  14. The results of Ultra Clean- Ultra Fast Detailer.
  15. The updated Fabia R5 being unveiled at this weekends Geneva International Motor Show. http://www.skoda-auto.com/news/news-detail/fabia-r5
  16. The results of Mondays wash. I did wash it on Saturday also but it got real messy again and I just couldn't leave it that way...
  17. Today I bought bought a quick detailer spray from a local detailing company who has their own range of products. This one will probably only really interest those who live in the North East of Scotland. (a few Aberdonians on here) The product - Ultra Clean- Ultra Quick Detailer. It's a new product in the range. https://www.ultraclean.uk.com/product-page/quick-detailer It's easy to use with a microfibre cloth. They say you can use it while the car is wet, however I did dry mine off first. It has left a very nice shine on my rapid. It remains to be seen how well it beads, however its Scotland so won't be long before it rains again..
  18. Here's the link to my old car, the dealer must of picked it up at auction as that's where it was heading after I traded it in at Specialist Cars. - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201902074707388?advertising-location=at_cars&year-from=2013&postcode=ab315jf&model=RAPID&page=4&make=SKODA&year-to=2013&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used
  19. A dealer in Edinburgh is selling my old Rapid 1.2 86 greentech. They were selling it for a whole £19 less than I paid for it 2 years ago! They have just dropped it by near £500. It's on auto trader. It is in very good condition abide a small in dint in front passenger door. Only 25k on clock. (63 plate) I paid only few more pounds on my current 65 plate Rapid with less than half the miles on clock and better infotainment system....
  20. I'm on my second Rapid just now. To me it's a reliable, quite spacious and well priced motor. The boot is great for this class of car. Can hold all the familys cases etc for holidays. Much bigger boot than that of a focus. Hope you get some good weather to enjoy the convertible.
  21. It's rained tonight on my freshly cleaned Rapid. Beads out!
  22. Oooh, nice and clean. I also use AG Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner on mine.
  23. A decent shine and reflection after today's wash.
