  1. Thanks for your reply,I have a regular unit fitted as standard in my 2018 Kodiaq, the download I used was in post 1 of the update thread for Tiguan, I never looked to see if there was more than one version, as the Skoda portal kept falling a short way into the download
  2. I don’t quite understand, you see I get the error that it can’t find anything on the card, but it doesn’t ask if I want to proceed, is there just meant to be 2 files on the card MIB1 & MIB2 as there’s a third file which isn’t in a folder & does it make a difference if I didn’t lock the Ed card so it’s read only when inserrting it into the card reader in the car ?
  3. I've downloaded the map update from the vw link, extracted it using 7 zip to a 64gb sd card which i formatted to fat32 with the raspberry pi tool, but the nav unit won't find the files on he sd card it just comes up with an error saying no files found etc,i've followed the instructions below on a different post about the menu system, below but all i get is a service menu which looks like the photo below, this so frustrating this is what i get when pressing the menu button for 10 sec I've got alternate instructions on how to update via SD card. I've just tried it and I got to #5 where it says the update takes 60 minutes, but unlike the normal update you need to leave it going with the car not running. I'll be updating myself tomorrow. 1. Press and Hold Menu Button for approx. 10 sec until you will see: Green Menu / Test & Erprobung / SWDL / Picture Viewer ....... please select Green Menu. 2. In the Green Menu select rcc >> swdl >> tick "User Defined SDWL" 3. From the Green Menu Press and Hold again Menu Button for approx.10 sec until you will see: "Green Menu / Test & Erprobung / SWDL / Picture Viewer ......." please select SWDL . and tick "Software Download Manual Download" and press Start Download. 4. Insert SD Card with latest Maps then press Update select "SD card" and press "MIB2 navigation database" 5. Press "Select all" and then press "Start"
  4. I've tried the menu button thing below, but i get a totally different screen, which looks like the car's service menu for software I've got alternate instructions on how to update via SD card. 5. Ihave the Columbus navigation & downloaded the maps from the OP link to the vw portal after the skoda portal kept failing, i extracted the files with 7zip to a 64gb sd card which i formatted to fat32 using the Raspbery Pi tool, i put the card into slot on the unit ion the glove box, but it searches the card, then comes back with an error message saying nothing found or words to that effect, iam i doing something wrong? i found it easier to update the older slow Amundsen unit which had it's own sd card
  6. Been trying to download the updated maps file for the columbus, but after 5-10 mins the update fails, i'm using firefox browser on win 7 & turned the adblocker off, in the past updating the amundsen on the octavia i used to own i never encountered this problem Tried internet explorer also, it stalls at 13%
  7. I have the same issue, just changed my car & the Columbus doesn’t switch from dab to fm,I first found this out when I was going through the Tyne tunnel, last week,I usually listen to radio 2 in the morning so it should switch when it loses the dab signal call me boring if you like) the Octavia I owned had the amundsen & it switched automatically.
  8. It surprises me that they told that you weren’t allowed in the workshop for safety reasons,I’ve been in there a couple of times when they were doing an mot on my car, both times to show me my tires which had a problem ( mot failure) the prices are silly,I was quoted £225 for front & the same for back for replacing the brake pads& discs which they said were wearing thin, I declined & an independent garage which mot”d my car this year said the front pads needed replacing, but discs & rears were fine, cost me £82
  9. I can highly recommend this dealership,i've used them for servicing my previous Octavia & they are aslways helpful & friendly make you feel valued,i've just this week bought a 2018 Kodiaq from them & Ashley on sales was so helpful, from trade in value on the Oxctavia to handover of the Kodiaq, even though they're now part of Pulman the service certainly hasn't suffered
