  1. Thanks guy's for all the suggestions. I eventually used the cable recommended by Mark Miscock https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075M4CQHZ but in conjunction with the left angle cable from this set https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072B821VV I simply used a piece of heatshrink over the connector to prevent them coming apart and then hid it under the headliner. I'll upload a few pictures when I get home but it looks very tidy and professional looking. My only concern is that the battery life in the Nextbase is cr@p and I doubt it would last a night in standby mode. Anyway, many thanks again to everyone especially Mark Hiscock. John
  2. I ordered my Octavia VRS 1.4 PHEV in May and it was registered at the dealer today. Picking it up on Friday. John
  3. Hi, My Octavia iV VRS finally arrived and has 1804. They said this is the latest update available but from what I've seen here I suspect I may end up with the same issues everyone else is having. John
  4. Hi folks, Can someone recommend a good steering wheel lock for my new Octavia Mk4 iV VRS. When I look on Amazon I see a banner at the top that say's "Amazon confirmed fit ! This does not fit Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI IV VRS See similar products that fit this vehicle". When I click the link it just say no products found. I've been recommended to fit one since I have on street parking and Kessy. Others are saying to use one of those wee key wallets that block the signal but then others say they are cr@p and just drain the battery. Please can someone help. Thanks in advance. You are all great. John
  5. Hard to make out clearly. It could be Blind spot monitor or side assist malfunction indicators. Have a wee look here https://dashboardsymbols.com/2020/09/skoda-warning-lights-and-symbols/ John
  6. Thanks for sharing. I have ordered one
  7. Thanks guy's. That's great. I'll use the cable that it came with and one of those adaptors. John
  8. Hi Folks, Does anyone know where I can buy a left angle mini USB to right angle USB C cable around 30cm in length. It's to fit into the Nextbase window hub and then into the USB C port on the mirror mount. Would have been better if the USB C connector was on the left for UK cars. I do have the hardwire kit as it came as a bundle but think the USB C port would be the easiest and quickest way to install (providing I can source a cable). Any help would be great. If I cannot find a suitable one I may make a custom cable. Why Nextbase chose mini USB these day's I don't know. Thanks everyone. John
  9. That's good news. My dealer has also called to say mine should be here by the end of the week, happy days 😀. Ordered an Octavia Vrs iV in May with all options. John
  10. You know when you've been Tango'ed 😂🤣 Nice colour that just screams Look at me 😁 Unfortunately mine is meant to be Brilliant Silver but know knows what it will be when I get it. John
  11. Sorry to hear about all these issues on the Octavia. I pick mine up in around 2 weeks. What should I be looking for when doing the handover at the dealers. What is the latest version out there that we know of. Many thanks, John
  12. Hi Folks, A wee update on my Octavia VRS iV. Ordered in May and the dealer just called to say it's now in the UK and all being well I should have it in around two weeks. Can't wait. Hopefully all the software glitches are fixed. John
  13. Yeah it was an iV and was meant to be ready for 1st Sept. Was only told last week that it may be March 2022 so today's call surprised me.
  14. Hi, I ordered my Octavia VRS iV in May and the dealer just called to say it's left the factory and is on it's way to the UK. Expected delivery in 4-5 weeks. Can't wait for it although having read all the comments about the Octavia MK 4 with regards to reliability and software issues I hope I am one of the lucky ones and get a car that has been updated. John
  15. More delays.... Skoda To Halt Czech Plants For A Week Due To Chip Shortage I think my new car will be a 22 plate the way things are going. Ordered a VRS Ocy iV in May. John
  16. Hi folks, Does anyone know if the Octavia iV uses LGE batteries. Been reading a lot recently about other car brands catching fire and the reports are pointing to LGE cells. Thanks, John
  17. Hi, I ordered mine in May and was told that it would be ready mid August. I said to hold it till Sept 1st so I got a 71 plate however mid August and it's the same story as you guy's. Delayed due to lack of chips. Called Skoda UK customer services today who are as useful as a chocolate fireguard and basically said contact your dealer for updates and not them. I know part of the problem is down to the massive fire at the Renesas factory earlier this year. They produce around 60% of the specialist chips and systems used in modern cars for sensors, cameras etc. They have restarted manufacturing however latest is that it could be mid June 2022 before they are back to the pre-fire rates of production. If you Google it you will see how serious the fire was. Place was gutted. I hope VAG are using this time to sort all the software bugs (sorry, features) that plagues the Octavia and others. John
  18. Broke it already Cameron 🤪
  19. Hi, Does anyone have any updates for my 2016 Octavia 3 Amundsen MIB2. Having random reboots especially if trying to use my Android phone (LG-V30). Thanks, John
  20. Thanks folks, Yes the metal does look a bit thin. The dealer said they only keep the drivers side in stock and it's a common issue. Got a new one and the 3 screws for £18 so if it's dry at the weekend then I'll get it swapped over. Once again, thanks for the feedback. John
  21. Hi Folks, I have a 2016 Octavia MK III pre FL 1.4 petrol. Driving home today I heard a rattling noise from the front drivers side wheel which got louder the slower I went. When I got home I popped the wheel off and the brake dust shield fell off. It doesn't have any rust or anything and looks like it's been ripped off. I haven't hit anything like potholes or speed bumps. My question is, can a replacement be fitted by just taking the calliper and disc off or does the hub need to come off too. Is this common for these to fail like this? Thanks folks, John
