  1. Hi Folks, Does anyone know what format my music needs to be on the USB to produce real 5.1 Surround sound on the MK 4 iV with Canton sound system. I have tried the original wav files which are 5.1 Dolby encoded but they only play in 2 channel. I've tried converting them to FLAC, Opus and Ogg all to no avail yet they play OK on my Denon amp. Thanks. John
  2. Hi, Just had an email from the stealership to say there is a new 93P2 campaign. It's something to do about the charging clip. Does anyone else have any further information please. Thanks. John
  3. Hi folks, Is the Octavia iV vRS supposed to have a lap counter and is so where can I find it. If not can it be enabled with VCDS. Thanks, John
  4. I've just been told that campaign 27J6 gateway control unit service has started. This is to replace the battery monitoring control unit and software update. Car going in on the 21st April. John
  5. I feel your pain. I did exactly the same thing to keep it below 40K and was hit with the extra VED. I under specced my car by giving up DCC and my preferred colour. Skoda or dealer didn't care.
  6. Hi Gaz, Sorry I don't have any specifics on the actual % rise but I ordered my Octavia iV VRS in May 2021 and specced it so that it was £38995 and therefore <£40000 so I didn't have to pay the extra premium on the VED. Car was meant to be here in Sept but delayed till mid October due to the chip shortage. When I picked it up they registered it with value of just under £42000 taking me into the premium band for VED. I complained to Skoda UK, Skoda Finance, The Stealership and none would accept responsibility. It was basically that's what the car is worth now, although I paid less it's worth more so there. I'm now over £1600 out of pocket if I keep it for the full term. I think looking back they were hoping I would say no keep it and then they could resell it at a bigger profit given the lack of new cars at the time. John
  7. Hi, My MK4 iV has been in for the past 2 days and they said that according to TPI 2065556/1 software version 1896 is being worked on but not ready for release yet. I'm currently on 1804. This big new software is supposed to fix everything. John
  8. Hi, It's a switched supply. John
  9. To be honest, I haven't actually downloaded any footage yet. It's obviously not as good as a dedicated camera on the rear window but you can see the cars behind you on the wee preview. I'll upload a test video for you soon. John
  10. Hi James, Sorry to hear about you being rear ended. Hope no one was hurt. I took a few pictures today, sorry but the light is overcast today but you should get the just. You can see them here. John
  11. Hi James, Sorry I never got a chance and actually ended up making a custom cable and then wrapping it with the hdmi extension cable from my Nextbase 622GW. I have the Nextbase rear view camera module and extension (not the one that sticks to the back window) that is stuck to the front screen. Both the USB and HDMI cables are wrapped in the black OEM fabric tape that is hidden behind the mirror. I'll take a wee pic or two tomorrow when it's daylight to show you what I mean. It does the job just nicely and more importantly was non destructive and removable. John
  12. Does the iV hybrid have the GPF? John
  13. Hi, I had the same issues with the new app and resolved it by going into the permissions for the app and granting it everything it wanted. The outer shell was probably a cat or something lol John
  14. Here are all the versions I have on my Octavia iV VRS which I picked up on 29th October. All my software versions Link is to my Google photos as there are multiple pictures. Any further info from you guy's would be great. John
  15. I found the image here on a different Octavia site so it's not my picture so credit to the person who posted it originally. Looking at this and it look's like there may be bigger issues here. I have 1804. John
  16. Hi, As promised here are the pics of my light settings screens after I bought the extra colours from the store. They may or may not be the same as the standard light settings. If anyone see's any differences can you please point them out. Thanks. John
  17. Hi folks, Wondering if someone with an iV running 1804 could confirm something for me. Had my VRS for 3 weeks now and been playing with the different drive modes. The other night I left work with a fully charged battery and set the drive mode to Hybrid Sport. I unticked the Auto option to manually reserve as much charge as possible. Car was set to ACC and I drove home on a mixture of 30 and 60 roads. The car automatically slowing down behind the car in front. I was lucky enough not to come to complete stop until almost at home. The lights were red and car in front stopped as did I. When lights changed to green car in front moved and I didn't. I had hands on the steering wheel and didn't move so pressed down on the accelerator and still nothing. I tried to manually change it from Sport to Drive, nothing wouldn't change. Tried to change to Neutral, nope wouldn't change. Even tried to turn off the car by pressing the ignition button and still nothing. In the end I had to open and close the drivers door before it would let me switch on the car and allow me to select Drive all while the cars behind me are honking there horns. I know the drive mode I had it in was extreme but still it shouldn't have locked up like this surely. Has anyone ever experienced this. Sorry for the long post but thought you might like to know exactly what I did. John
  18. Hi, I do have road sign detection and HUD. There is a few times when driving to work the dash displays 40 detected and the speed changes to 40 with ACC on. It shows the text MPH however the road sign icon shows 60. When I go a little bit further where its a national speed limit again ACC changes to 60 but icon shows 100. Weird part is, leaving the National speed limit area it says 40 ahead and slows down, when I enter the 40 area speed stays the same but icon shows 60. A little bit further approaching Flixton it says 30 ahead, starts to slow down but then when I enter the 30 it shows 80 and speeds up instantly causing me to brake as the cash cows sit on this road. Going in to the stealership on the 29th to hopefully have 1810 update do will let you know. Really wish the software was fixed as I bloody well love my iV VRS. John
  19. I bought it like a muppet and can't see any differences other than my wallet being lighter. I bought it on the same day I got the car so to be honest I should have taken some before and after pictures of each screen. I'll take some pictures later today and then you can compare with what you have. My car is an iV VRS so I'm not sure if that has any additional options or not. Will update you later today. John
  20. Hi Folks, Does anyone know if the sound system in the Octavia iV VRS with Canton upgrade supports gapless playback. I've tried loads of different formats from FLAC, AAC to Opus all on USB C flash drive connected directly to car and there is always a small gap in between tracks which is annoying for some albums which are designed to play non stop like Jean-Michel Jarre or the War of the Worlds for example. The help file or manual doesn't mention anything or even Canton for that matter. Thanks, John
  21. Hi, I picked up my Octavia iV VRS at the end of October and it came with the following. They claim there is no newer software yet I have the KPH issue with the road signs being shown in KPH and if using ACC I've had the car jump to 80 in a 30 by itself. Luckily I've been quick enough to brake before I got a speeding ticket. Why can't they just admit that there are issues and fix them. John
  22. Winter pack (Heated front seats) Rear camera with LED rear lights and dynamic indicators Driver fatigue sensor Blind spot detection Travel Assist Heads Up Display Park Assist CANTON sound system Gave up DCC, Racing Blue paint (wasn't free at time of order) and a few other wee toys that I could have had since they registered it over £40K anyway. John
  23. Hi, It was on the confirmation of registration paperwork that the stealership gave me..
  24. Doesn't look like it. Docs say Duty paid £0.00. First Registration Fee £55, Extra weeks No, Tax class 59 - Alt Fuel Car total OTR £39,993 on my final invoice. Like you said, if I had been told this would happen then I would have added all the extra's and bitten the bullet. It's just the shock of it and the fact they can do this and not warn you. John
  25. Hi folks, Finally got my new Octavia iV VRS on Friday and love the car however..... When I was speccing the car I specifically kept it below the £40 threshold so not to pay the extra £300+ VED fine each year for the next 5 years. I deliberately left off things like DCC, racing blue paint etc... Going through the paperwork on Friday night I see Skoda have registered it at £40,470 which pushes me into the higher VED. I am so angry that I was never told this and the dealer say's it's up to DVLA what price band the car is. Is this true, can anything be done to resolve this. In short I will be paying over £1,000 extra which I never budgeted for or wanted. The dealer say's nothing to do with them and not interested. John
