  1. Is it just the Skoda version or are the e-UP! and Mii Electric canned also?
  2. @domhnall What are the headlights like? Having driven US made cars over there, I found their headlamps pathetic. I know Tesla use LEDs but is the beam any good? I've seen videos but the camera can make it look a lot different from reality. For instance, would you be happy driving from Skye to Inverness in the dark? (just trying for a road we both might know)
  3. I am sure that I watched a video recently where they found the hidden trip meter, although if memory serves it could only be displayed while charging. I think it was Bjorn Nyland (Teslabjorn on youTube) range test video, but don't quote me! Don't have time to find it right now.
  4. Real world insight from a car user, not a tech fan.

Agreed. This thread is supposed to be about the Skoda Enyaq, not the pros and cons of running an EV. There is at least half a dozen of those already!

I saw the TdF Enyaq leading the Tour on yesterday's stage. Looked really good, not other worldly or odd - just another decent car doing a job. Except no diesel fumes out the back for the racers to breathe.
  7. I'm not worried about the charging speed, although the standard 50Kw DC charging for the Enyaq is a bit disappointing. As most folks will charge at home, so full battery at the start of each day. For road trips, 200+ miles between charges (realistically 4 hours driving) will be enough to charge at my usual break times. Driving non-stop to the Alps is no something I do anymore, so charging is not such a big issue. For the Enyaq I would have to spec the optional 100/125Kw DC charging to allow the car to charge fully during a lunch stop. Note that Tesla / I-Pace / E-Tron / Kia / etc. already have that kind of charge speed, so making it optional on Enyaq seems a bad move by Skoda.
  8. Glad I didn't watch the launch event live, that was tedious! 😴 Autogefuel review was interesting. The car is bigger than I expected and the base price is not too bad, definitely one to look at in the future.

Mine seems to go about 6500 - 7500 on a tank of AdBlue. It uses more over the winter, probably because of lower exhaust temps.

That's what I buy, or the Greenchem equivalent for similar price. I let mine get down to below 500 miles range and easily fit a full 10ltr container in the tank.

I've never used a filling station AdBlue pump so cannot answer the question about shut-off I'm afraid. My Karoq is also my first with AdBlue and I've used 10ltr top-ups successfully 4 times now, so not fussed about looking for a pump. I was worried about spilling or the weight of the 10Ltr can, but to be honest it was easy to manage. I keep water and rags handy just in case of a spill, but so far no need in almost 40K miles. I find Amazon or Screwfix to be cheap for 10Ltr top-ups although occasionally Aldi has them. I think my next top up will last until the car goes back at the end of the lease now (needs AdBlue in 1500 miles, alarm just started)

Official reveal tonight, so hopefully we will know tomorrow.
  13. Quite agree. I do like Scotland though....
  14. We should all move to Scotland 😆
  15. I had seen this, but thought it was maybe a mistake. Seems odd that 3-phase is needed to get 7.2Kw. With such little difference between the 3-pin and wallbox, its really not worth the cost of a wallbox installation.
  16. A really positive review of the Citigo-e. However, right at the end he states that he's discovered that the Citigo-e/e-UP/Mii electric will only charge at 3.2Kw on a single phase wall box charger, not at 7.2Kw as advertised. To get 7.2Kw home charging, you will need 3-phase electricity. Can any of the the folks who actually run one of these cars confirm this?
  17. Those prices make the e-UP/Citigo-e/Mii seem very expensive.
  18. For the manufacturers I don't doubt it. For me reading a UK board about electric vehicles, based in the UK its important to me what I can buy in the UK. So Lucid, while of interest from a technology viewpoint, is pointless until they are actually selling cars I can buy. The Chevvy Bolt for instance appears to be a good vehicle, but is hardly spoken about in the UK because it cannot be bought here - and the Bolt is a real thing not vapourware.
  19. Shame they haven't got any on sale and no plans for UK sales. Too many electric car start-ups producing vapourware.
  20. European Model 3 and Model Y have CCS charging already. All new Model S and Model X come with a CCS adaptor to allow the use of non-Tesla chargers. Most older S and X can have the software and charge port upgraded to allow the use of the CCS adaptor, cost was about £400 IIRC. This has just been reduced this week it turns out... https://www.electrive.com/2020/08/10/tesla-reduced-european-ccs-conversion-prices/
  21. Well id4 and Enyaq might also fit the bill by then. A bit moot at the moment as Covid-19 has pushed my company to make me redundant, so no spendy until new job turns up.
  22. Mine does. Did you re-format your SD card or just delete stuff? I always reformat the card and it has always upgraded perfectly. Another possibility is that the de-compress had an error, might be worth re-running.

  24. My 2018 Karoq SE-L remembers the sensitivity level between starts. Set to 'LATE' and it still brakes sharply at blade of grass waving in the wind. 🙄
