  1. Dealer just rang and confirmed that the turbo accentuator had failed and has seized up the turbo. So turbo number three ! None in the country so have to wait until 5th March for the part to come in. So a week of the Touran hire car, Mrs isn’t pleased she doesn’t like it.
  2. Well what a day. EPC warning, so we ring Marshall’s and book in. Advised ok to use. Mrs goes to pop down Tesco and Engine light comes on too, looking at the entertainment system and the picture of the car shows an orange what looks like gear box. Obviously due to fault. Ring them back, NO a don’t drive and we will send Skoda Assist. They come out link up and it’s the Turbo again, leaked some oil as oil only half up the dipstick again. Only 7,200 miles over 18 months from new ! AA bloke was top notch, arranged for car to go to dealers and followed Mrs all the way there. When we got there he had a arranged hire car. Went to hire car and it was sat there waiting. Great service !
  3. Wow £380 to fit !!!! My lad has a 8 year old BMW 1 Series Coupe, he swapped out his grill for a black one, took ten - fifteen minutes to do it clipped out a dream and new one clipped back the same.
  4. Need to get out somewhere more scenic and take some decent shots.
  5. I expect they do as the black grill is on my Monte Carlo so it’s a part for sure.
  6. I know on our old Zafira it was. I put a 12v supply in the boot. There was a knock out circle, behind it a wire, just a case of connecting up, pushing socket in the hole and away you go. Can’t remember though if I had to put a fuse in the fuse box, that part escapes my memory.
  7. I believe a lot of cars now have the same wiring looms so the electrics for most things are there. Just the need for parts, sensors and connecting up to programme the car. Doesn’t sound much but as we know it ain’t cheap. Heated seats at nice though.
  8. Oh I see, never really been something I’ve been too worried about. Dual zone in the Pug 308cc, but never used it for cold air, if I needed cold air then the roof went down. Have dual in the Octavia, but that’s the wife’s car and I rarely go in that. Thanks for the explanation by the way, much better understanding now.
  9. I was saying to my son about the Monte Carlo we just bought not having Climate. But my son is much too wise, his comment was “Dad when did you ever have a different temperature on one side of the car to the other” ? Aahhhh he got me there !
  10. I didn’t get that come up ! Did think there was an issue earlier today, but switching the engine on and going to users and setting primary made it work.
  11. It’s a bit frustrating I know, you’d expect a little better.
  12. Do t know if this helps or has any part in getting it going. But, I logged on to the app indoors and went up to the part where it wanted to connect to the car. Don’t know, but could it be if the mobile is already synced to the car there being some sort of protocol that doesn’t like trying to log on to the app while the car is connected ? Don’t know, just an idea. Certainly the only thing I did differently after several sole in car attempts
  13. LOL ! Not a clue really ? Got my son to help ! He is 20 and I’d say very computer literate. Basically followed through the instructions, but it did take a couple of goes. Needed both keys, VIN, load of pushing of buttons, ignition on and patience.
  14. Managed to set up Primary User but it wasn’t easy and took a couple of attempts, certainly not a slick and smooth job.
  15. Mine was delivered today. Love it, great gearbox.
  16. I got in the habit from when I had my first car of checking these things, especially if we off over any distance. Most recently after our turbo fail we were off somewhere so I duly checked everything. That’s when I found the oil hadn’t been topped up after they fixed the leak they caused ! Nothing worse too than no wash fluid in the bottle.
  17. It’s the amount of black panelling I think against that flatter grey. There was an Evoke parked out side our house the other day in a similar colour with again loads of shiny black panels, looked nice for an Evoke.
  18. Stock photo but should look like this, stunning look and it’s only a base colour too.
  19. Not bad engines the 1.0. However we did have a turbo go which was replaced under warranty. That though is a a sad tale where the local dealers had to have it back twice as after being repaired it was leaking oil. Then they failed to top the oil up to the correct level ! I’d say in an Octavia Estate we feel it’s a little under power. The 1.0 is a popular engine though and well used over the V.A.G. Group.
  20. Had so many false alarms on the “drag” system, in particular when the weather turned cold or there was a quick temp dip. Not sure if it was connected in anyway. But at least you can reset it, our Peugeot had the ones that send a wireless message to the car. Expensive when the reach end of life.
  21. Ordered a Kamiq 1.5 DSG Monte Carlo Thursday, on lease and I stock, just 2-3 weeks and it will be sat in the drive next to the Octavia, can’t wait ! Meteor Grey which I think will look great with the black lettering on the back. This will be my first DSG too. We do like the Octavia which replaced the much loved Yeti, bit of a boat though.
  22. Mrs just came in and engine management light on our 2019 Octavia 1.0 has came on. Popped in the Carista and it reads five faults ? Are they linked to one fault ? P003A (Turbo Confirmed and pending) 262912 Central Electronics (Alarm) 9453073 Instrument Cluster (Fuel) 16434 Engine (Lambada) All in one go makes me think something has had a knock on effect as it’s the first we knew anything was wrong. The reasons in brackets are just a google so unsure if correct. Please could someone kindly confirm. Very much appreciated for anyone’s time and input.
