  1. Obviously not when you are coasting but there is also that eco mode when it runs on two cylinders. That impresses me.
  2. DSG gearbox, my first auto and it’s fantastic especially on the twisty hills of North Devon.
  3. The speed limit icon that comes up on the virtual dash is quite good and accurate I find. But a couple of times it has read 110 m.p.h. Didn’t go for it !
  4. My Kamiq Lease ends next year, I’m thinking not replacing with another lease and buying a Yeti. Plenty of good low mile ones out there.
  5. Nothing springs to mind expect it’s not a Yeti ! I like my Kamiq MC, I appreciate on with the new etc but such a shame it was discontinued.
  6. I will have another look many thanks.
  7. Yeah I can see where you select the different styles of readout, both on the menu on the screen and on the steering wheel. But when I scroll to change the centres of the display the only consumption is from refuelling. Of course it scrolls to altitude, acceleration etc etc but there doesn’t appear to be a way of changing it to “since start”, although it use to be on that. Thank you though.
  8. Please help stop me going mad !!!! I have googled this but can’t find an answer. On the Virtual Display I use to have Since Start for the consumption. Some how due to my error I changed it when I didn’t want to and it reads Since refuel. How the heck do you change it back to since start ? I have scrolled the menus and nothing has worked. Picture below of the view I use with the consumption on the left. Thanks in advance for looking and any help, very much appreciated.
  9. Ordered December delivery today !!! SE model electric rear windows NO winders !
  10. I know Vauxhall Astra ! It was a horrible nasty car.
  11. This reminds me of years ago we had a Brand new Vauxhall Astra SXI. Our nipper was due and the Mrs waters broke. Not wanting the seats to get messed up I made her sit on a bin bag !
  12. Years ago we bought a Yaris and a tailored fit after market liner the type with high edges making tray like. That’s been in an A3 Sportback, Pug 308, Yeti and now a Kamiq, not a perfect fit but certainly good enough.
  13. I have a Monte Carlo and these fixing points for a net running the back of the rear seats. Also have them to the rear door on each side.
  14. My Monte Carlo was an actual in stock when I ordered it last January and was delivered in February. My wife ordered hers last Dec and still no confirmed build date just an DSG SE with no extras. Last we heard was a purposed end of August. Salesman is pretty good on updates and gives the odd courtesy call, not his fault but considering cancelling.
  15. I had this in the week. I switched the engine off waited then restarted nd it was back to normal. Also had the sound go on the Radio. Holding down the power switch until the screen went blank, releasing waiting then switching back on solved that one.
  16. Contact again from the dealers, build date put back another month to end of August. I recon it’s not going to be until December 22 a year after ordering. My wife has ordered this and she doesn’t stand for any messing around. The outgoing Octavia has a service plan. The woman who booked it in for a service said the MOT was not included, so ok thought my wife we will pay. So when the salesman rang she mentioned it saying IF they had delivered the car we wouldn’t have to pay for the MOT as we wouldn’t have it. He said he would see about that. Rang back and now the MOT IS included. He even offered to drive her to work and pick her up to collect it after. Must say the salesman is a nice bloke I’ve dealt with him too, but 8 months and no real build date and just an estimate of another month !!!! Not great for fourth Skoda.
  17. Indeed when cars were heavier and had rear drum rather than all round discs with proportionate brakes front to rear. Also there’s that energy that’s recycled during braking, only a small amount I believe which if I remember the brochure helps reduce alternator use, ( if I do remember correctly).
  18. Going down hill I generally take my foot off the accelerator. There’s a particular bit on my everyday route. It goes from 40 down to 30 with a very slight downhill. Taking my foot off I can coast around half a mile down to a set of traffic lights. If the lights go my way I trim the speed to the lights slightly and then a sharper down hill and slight acceleration on an uphill bit. Getting good economy is sometimes knowing your route. Never selected a higher gear going downhill. Of course nipping it over to manual and 7th you need to remember you may need to switch down or pop back to auto.
  19. Like you I’ve the auto so a pull back pops it in to sport, and of course it switches it’s self to Eco mode apart from that it’s just point and go no messing with modes. It doesn’t like it sometimes when I pop to manual and go up to 7th. I then get a message saying switch to auto for economy. If I do that the MPG goes down !
  20. I do like the Panoramic roof, quite nice to slide it back. Not so keen at night, no idea why, and my daughter hates it open at anytime, makes her feel sick.
  21. I rarely pop mine in sports mode, only use it if I’m overtaking and want a bit more go. The air on though I never spare on, if I let a window down I get messages on the dash to close it to reduce drag.
  22. I do a daily 8 mile trip. The road has a 60 stretch, and the rest is either 30 or 40. I have the 1.5 DSG and regularly get over 50 to the gallon. I am very light footed though and anything downhill I take my foot off the pedal. I even managed 56 MPG a couple of weeks ago. It stays in auto most of the time but I have found popping over and up in to 7th increases the mpg when the normal auto wouldn’t do it, (no I never strain the engine). I also switch off stop start from time to time. I find the car park at work with its ten speed humps drops the mpg down with all the stop start.
  23. Must be a known fault if they are doing this without question. I’m thoughtful of mine leaking having read a few reports. I know not to use a power wash on the roof. After reading this I did go out and check my boot and no leaks.
  24. Ordered in December now giving estimated week 29 build date makes it around the end of July !!!!! And, it’s only a standard build.
  25. That’s the way I do it with my Kamiq DSG. The only thing I haven’t quite got a hold of is a little harsh pull away. We did have an A3 and that had an electronic handbrake, it was a right pain in the rear. We added Hill Hold but I either it wasn’t activated or we were missing something. Starting on a steep incline easily resulted in rolling back.
