Kamiq delivery dates
Had a call about my wife’s Kamiq order. Ordered in December and …………………. Not a clue about a build date !

Kamiq delivery dates
Well the Yeti was absolutely brilliant and the Other car a Kamiq Monte Carlo is too. You get a duff one every so often, but I believe there were issues with the turbo units across the V.A.G. Group.

Kamiq delivery dates
We just want the Octavia gone. It’s on its third turbo with 12,000 on the clock on a three year lease. Lost confidence in it a while ago.

Kamiq delivery dates
This is a replacement for the lease for my wife’s Octavia, at least they have said they will extend the lease if needed. The only thing she isn’t best pleased on is window winders in the back LOL. I did say but you won’t be in the back ! It’s across the industry, my mate is a MG dealer and they have apparently 100’s waiting chips.

Kamiq delivery dates
We ordered Dec and delivery was given as July, that’s if we are lucky I recon.

quick questions, entry/exit and engine size
They did sa6 it was a slightly bigger revised turbo on the last replacement. However on the first replacement it was leaking oil after we got it back. Then on checking the oil it wasn’t topped up my the dealer. Their excuse was that they don’t when they change a turbo ? It was resolved in the end.

I have the 1.5 DSG and it’s a great engine returning around 50 MPG. We have a 1.0 on order for my wife, even though the out going Octavia has the 1.0 which is on its third turbo. That’s a 19 plate with 10,000 miles !

Kamiq Monte Carlo 1.5TSI DSg
That white looks great too I will keep an eye out. My wife didn’t like it when it came, it was all totally my choice as it’s my car, it’s grown on her LOL !

Foggy Full LED Headlights
A common thing with LED lights, my mates BMW lights fog up too. When you think about it with Halogen bulbs the het produced clears by moisture, LED’s don’t get that warm.

Kamiq Monte Carlo 1.5TSI DSg
Had mine a year now and love it. The DSG gear box is fantastic and fuel consumption is excellent. Love the Colour and had loads of complements on how great it looks. My wife liked it so much she has an SEL on order, but delivery is July at the earliest we believe.

Lane assist.
I get this too. But I have noticed it’s within a boundary for a school ? Not signed anywhere as 20, but then 20 is hard to get to as it’s usually narrow with parked cars.

Lane assist.
Totally understand, the trouble is it doesn’t see what you see, it sticks to a strict line. It’s a safety feature and has a use, just seems a bit over the top at times. Here in North Devon, it’s almost impossible with cyclists, road work signs, pot holes, people parked adjacent to solid white lines, the list goes on. So a brief indication settles it for me.

Lane assist.
This has been really good information for me, just a flick of the indicators.

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
Mine seems to be best around 42-44 mph, that consistently gives around 52 mpg, with easing off the accelerator and just applying to keep up speed. This is generally on an A road with mostly 40 mph limits, it goes to 60 for a stretch and down to 30 too. The 60 stretch you rarely get up to that due to traffic.

kamiq 1.5 tsi dsg monte carlo 2021
Had my 1.5DSG Monte Carlo for nearly three months now. Lovely car ! I only do a 18 mile round trip to work each day and it’s all on a small A road with one 60 MPH some 30 and 40 mph and I am getting 49 MPG and only on regular unleaded. DSG gearbox is fantastic. Only thing I’d say negative would be about getting use to take off was a bit lumpy at first LOL ! Hill hold/assist is just perfect. Oh another negative, is it’s sometimes a little sensitive on hand gesture, unless it’s me pressing something, I end up with Radio One Extra, not really my thing ! Whole family like Monty has he is known. We have Meteor Grey and everyone loves the colour, Mrs wasn’t too sure but she’s even coming around to it, looks great with all the black accents.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
Love mine. Nice interior, nice space inside and that dash, never had a virtual dash. Ride wise well it has 18” wheels you can expect a little harshness, but they look good.

Octavia Fault codes
Had a reply from Skoda today regarding the second turbo fail. I’m just getting the feeling I’m not being taken seriously and they are fobbing me off ? Why would you have an exposed part that could cause a failure ?
-
Octavia Fault codes
Spoken to Skoda U.K. and they will speak to dealers. Fella we spoke too said that it needs to be looked at as to why turbos are failing. Seemed very sympathetic, listened and understood.

Octavia Fault codes
Exactly how we feel. You get to the stage where you start wondering is it us, but this is my wife’s car, she drives very steady and never rags a car.
-
Octavia Fault codes
Yeah it was. Just seem to feel I’m being fobbed off. Not keen on the oil being half way on the dipstick like it was.

Octavia Fault codes
Thank you PetrolDave. To me it makes sense but sad to say the dealer didn’t see it that way and the service department stated they never touch the oil. But the whole reason I checked it and found it low was because, on the last turbo change it was the same half way up. So putting two and two together I think it’s safe to assume a turbo change losses half way on the dipstick, which on topping up is just under 1/2 litre. But I’m no mechanic, so put my trust in them.

Octavia Fault codes
Had the Octavia back a few days now. BUT, just checked the oil level and it was down to half ! Rang up Dealers and the dealers recon they do not touch the oil when replacing a turbo, is that true ? Bearing in mind it was serviced last July with around 5,000 on the clock and has only cover around 2,500 miles since that last service. Seems excessive to me. while story is :- Had a brand new Skoda Octavia Estate delivered July 2019. February 2020 engine light comes on, peeing out oil, take it to the dealers and the turbo had ceased so a new turbo under warranty. Few days after a regular oil check and it’s down to half way. Call to dealers and closed due to lockdown, got it ourselves and they refunded it. Then it’s first service July 2020, that was on around 4,500 miles on the clock. Couple of weeks ago 2021, engine light comes on 7,200 miles on the clock. Back to dealers, and another turbo fail so replaced again under warranty. Same thing again after only being back five days oil half way on the dipstick, total miles 7390 ! Dealers are saying that they don’t change or top up oil on a turbo change ? Is that right ?

Primary user wont activate
No she wouldn’t, good idea though. No the spare sits at home, been using since and everything pops up no trouble, can only imagine it was a temporary blip. Thanks for taking the time and thought to reply.

Primary user wont activate
Had problems with this yesterday. Turned engine on set off and for the whole of a half hour journey to pick the wife up from work it was trying to log in Primary user. Whilst waiting for her I switched off the engine and left it, ten minutes or so, started engine when she got in and it was ok. Pain in the neck !

Lane assist frequent faults
The lane assist certainly takes a little getting use to. We have it on the Octavia and also on my new Kamiq. Is there various sensitivity settings ? I don’t drive the Octavia much and can’t recall it being as touchy as in the Kamiq. It is a good steady reminder if you do run over a line, BUT here in North Devon with narrow roads and all them pot holes we all have to slalom around ????
