front fog light replacent
ccosmin replied to Decocorky's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
White light does not work well in dense fog. Interestingly though, many manufacturers are using by default LED fog lights as standard - I am curious to see how well they work in actual fog, if the light is not yellowish. Indeed a white LED fog light works very well on back roads that need to be well lighten. -
Nice that they bring the functionality to IOS, but will take some time before a fully working app. Until then I recommend the Android version. WIll definitely buy the new version, when IOS will be working fully.

Two phones at the same time
ccosmin replied to damjanev's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
How is it different on the Columbus? Once connected via cable carplay or android auto you permanently have the one phone available via bluetooth. The second connection via bluetooth only is blocked - never heard of this particularity only for Columbus. You can have 2 phones connected and available via bluetooth, but no cable involved. Just set the applications on automatic updates, having no trouble with that Only take it out when need OBD11 -
Two phones at the same time
ccosmin replied to damjanev's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I have an android phone permanently connected to the bolero infotainment. This is to use Android Auto, much better than apple carplay. My iPhone is connected via bluetooth for phone calls and other bluetooth stuff. To achieve this configuration you need to permanently disable the bluetooth connection on the android phone. You need to root the phone and disable the hardware itself. If you simply turn off bluetooth, AA will force it open. Works like a charm in my car -
It about the skoda history. Cheap cars and you need to make compromises somewhere....

I've seen the live presentation, nice look. To bad i'm sick of the Skoda quality. It might be simply clever, but to much hard plastic, and noises inside the cabin, and this comes in a fully insulated O3.

Smart link or software update
ccosmin replied to Lovepreet's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The new AA version is simply perfect. I'm a long time iPhone user but for Apple Car play just sucks compared to AA. Now that AA opens Spotify and any navigation automatically ... I have a separate Android phone in the glove box just to AA experience -
I love my new Virtual Cockpit ..
ccosmin replied to Trust2k's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Cannot find these in the adaption menu with OBDeleven. Are they in any submenus? You can see if you have optical cable installed checking in 5F module - > Long Coding - > Byte 22 -> Dashboard Graphic Variant - Most or CAN. Most is for Optical Cable. -

ccosmin replied to Trust2k's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
You also need to have the optical cable to view the images and album art. Does Bolero + VC has optical cable? This is needed usually when Navigation is present. This is why Bolero did not had the option activated. -
Thank you. Are you able to provide the adaptations for modules 13 ACC, 19 Gatway and 5F.?
-
Hi, Is there anyone here with Predictive ACC on the Octavia and can share the coding for it. This is been retrofitted on a O3 VRS from 2015, but some parameters are wrong to enable the predictive part, and I would need coding for comparison. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Yes. Those. AA or Apple Car Play.

You have the option in the apple car play or android auto skoda oneapp. It start timer automatically when you accelerate. Should be pretty accurate. did it several times, nice option in the app.

Columbus Upgrade Problem
ccosmin replied to WayTooTall's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I am posting here, maybe others can confirm or infirm, but what I found, is that skoda blocked the older 5Q gateway from their servers, and no longer can retrofit AID, columbus, etc.. on those Octavia's. Only on the new 3Q gateway. This if confirmed by 3 different cars where online coding with Odis no longer worked. So if others have different info, please share, and be aware. It cost 3-4 hours of online coding (charged by the minute by Skoda) just to restore the cars to a 99% normal functionality. -

HBA Audi frameless mirror compatible with O3
ccosmin replied to ccosmin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I mean for the camera module itself. Mine is H10 with 0010 version for software. Must be a bug here, or in the gateway, at least for my car. Factory and dealer tried for a year to fix the dynamic calibration error with no results, so taking matters into my own hands If i try with a different camera then the one Skoda delivers (2 different ones already tested with with same hardware/software) hopping to work differently if they have different hardware and software version. If this is not the issue and it's something else, I will stop here :), but as I said at least end up with a better looking mirror -

ccosmin replied to ccosmin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Uff. Need then to search for a used one. Need to be sure it has the software. To much trouble if I need to activate it with Odis. -
