  1. can you try taking teh handle off so you can undo the wire connecting to the mechanism?
  2. this is very similar to my door as you can see the grey foamy thingy on the left, that rips off and i can take the mechansim out.
  3. actually how about just taking the speaker out? the hole looks big enough for the mechansim to come out of there.
  4. another way is to take the panel off, have you got a rivot gun?
  5. i made a thread while ago and someone suggested using a voltage meter to check the wirings from the door to inside of the car. if its not he wirings then its the micro switch.
  6. oh, on mine, there is a foam for soundproofing and if i rip that off then the mechanism comes out from that hole.
  7. i have this problem also, the locking mechanism is quite easy to take off. if its anything like my fabia, there are 2 bolts on the outside of the door which you have to undo then the mechanism comes straight out.

  11. ok so if i do it from the below, i would be able get to it straight away without anything blocking the way? am i right? that is the thing, no fault lights at all, i would have thought it would pop up but nothing, yet i am having the symptoms of a dodgy knock sensor.
  12. thank you wino i have made a thread already the symptoms i am getting is very similar to my previous car which is sluggish on start up and pinging/knocking noise.

  18. hi guys, hope everyone is ok this problem started few days ago and hoping someone can tell me what it is. i was setting off from work the other day and someone mentioned that they heard few knocking noise and when i set off after stopping at a traffic light, it felt sluggish. i had this similar problem when i had my astra and it was the knocking sensor. is that right?

  21. hi guys i have been having to top up my brake fluid, at a guess once every couple months. could anyone tell me what i should check please? there are no puddles where i park if that helps. many thanks guys
