  1. Hi all, I got a new Kodiaq Sportline on the 31st July and then went on holiday the week after. While I was away my father-in-law moved the car and nudged the lights on which then flattened the battery. He called the AA who put some charge back into it. The only adverse affect noticed from this was that there is now an 'airbag error' shown on the dashboard but nothing called out on the info screen in the vehicle section. I had read that the airbag functionality needs a decent charge on the battery but the light has now been there for about a week after it has been driven 50-60 miles. Any thoughts on remedying this? In the first place it would be good to try and reset the light and see if it then reappears. Other than that I guess it is a case of heading down to the dealer to get them to check it under warranty?
  2. You can get cables which plug into the OBD2 socket in your car. They supploy power continuously and automatically power down when it gets close to running your battery down. I have one in my current Kodiaq and it has worked well and protected the battery.
  3. Thanks, that does make sense. It is through a Skoda dealer on a PCH deal so I guess it is more about allocation for the supplying company instead of just the building of similar cars being wildly different.
  4. Thanks both. So as an example the Feb 2022 brochure for the UK Kodiaq (https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Skoda-Kodiaq-2022-UK.pdf) has the Virtual Cockpit as a paid option on the Sportline but the June 2023 brochure has it on the SE L Executive and above (see first post in this thread). That is the sort of change of spec I was talking about.
  5. Quick question, so the brochure was published in April but took effect from the 1st June. Do the adjusted specs mentioned in the new brochure only start appearing for cars built after the 1st June only or cars being delivered from the 1st June onwards? Or could these news specs have started hitting the market anytime after April? *scratches head*
  6. I'm a bit surprised about some of these order times. I ordered at 2.0TSI Sportline DSG in Feb and it has already been built and at Emden for the trip over for delivery before the end of the month. It was a custom build with some options. Why is there such a range of delivery times?
  7. I have the 2.0 TSI and have just switched to a DSG from a manual Octavia. I would never have considered it previously but was bored with constant gear changes when driving about town. It is nice to be able to just cruise smoothly without having to worry about it. Modern DSGs are so much less laggy than old ones. The suggestion is that fuel economy with a double clutch DSG is now very similar to a manual gear boxes too.
  8. The spare wheel is a judgement call as you lose a chunk of the underfloor boot space which I have already found useful since owning the car. I had an Octavia before this and the higher floor level of the boot does make it feel like there is less boot space height-wise than in the Octavia. The one thing I would totally reccommend getting is the High Beam Assist. Not expensive to add but is a really nice feature when driving on dark nights. It is surprisingly good at knowing when to dip the full beam lights and when not to. I had that on the Octavia and was surprised that it wasn't on the SEL Kodiaq. One of a few reasons why I pushed up to the Edition trim level which now no longer exists.
  9. Hi Fairgame Sorry, missed this last week. I ended up using the guide in the link below which uses the 5 EURO functionality in the POIbase program. Follow the instructions and you should be well away. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=164455
  10. Adding a couple of quick photos taken while away last week. Loving the car so far. Such a well rounded package. Petrol Blue is a great colour. It looks quite different in different lights.
  11. RRG Skoda in Rochdale have supplied our last 2 Skodas and have been good.
  12. New Kodiaq owner reporting for duty! On Monday I took delivery of a shiny new Kodiaq Edition 2.0 TSI in beautiful Petrol Blue (although I do still miss the Race Blue I had on the Octavia I have just got rid of. I love that colour but wanted a change this time). No extras to speak of as it was one of the very last 2.0 TSI Editions to enter the country a few weeks ago I believe. Stock will be running pretty low at the dealerships, especially as I don't think they made/sold many of them with the bigger engine. I gave the car a proper wash today and had to open the rear doors to be able to reach the middle of that high level roof. That is a first for me! I'm away next week and will aim to get a nice photo to accompany this intro. I'm looking forward to getting the car out onto the twisty roads of Northumberland.
  13. Thanks... Definitely worth knowing. I only added the POIs yesterday and I haven’t ventured out near speed cameras since. So you feel you are too close to be able to take any action?
  14. All sorted now, thanks. Went with PocketGPSworld and POIbase.
  15. That is a valid point but this seems to be the master guide for Columbus sat navs across the forums I believe. Thanks for having me, good to be here!
  16. Hi all, I have just switched from a 2017 Octavia with an Amundsen MIB2 to a shiny new Kodiaq with the Columbus. I have read through the thread but there seems to be a range of different conversations and overlaps going on! Unless I am wrong there seems to be 2 different sources of Speed Camera databases for use with POIs. Some people seem to be using the SCDB ones and others seem to be using the PocketGPSWorld ones. Which is the best/easiest? I'm happy to pay for the speed camera updates themselves and POI Base or some other software for Windows to process them. I just want to be able to have confidence in the DB and be able to update as often as I want. Cheers!
  17. The MY21 Kodiaq brochure now mentions in tiny writing that the Edition and Scout are only available 'from stock' so presumably no new ones being made in those trims.
  18. So that is the VRS prototype? Doesn't look much different at all under the disruptive stickers, but I guess that is what they want it to look like!
  19. I wouldn't be at all surprised. I'm all up for the new and shiny bits but it doesn't fit with my timescales for a new lease. It could well be like mentioned above that the dealers are the last to know in most cases.
  20. Okay, let me tell you my story on this topic... my Octavia lease is coming to an end in Sept so about a month ago I managed to get to dealer for a socially distanced to start things moving on ordering a 190PS 2.0TSI Kodiaq Edition with a few factory options added. However the prices were bananas and availability near enough not existent. After requesting quotes from a few places I found out what is going on. One of the dealerships told me that Skoda were discontinuing the 2.0 TSI engined Edition and just keeping it available to order in the Sportline, SE L and L&K. Seemingly the issue is that there were too many permutations of engine and trim and Skoda wanted to simplify the line-up. Hence the reason why prices were all over the shop and half of the companies weren't able to supply it at all. So for me this meant that I was unable (as of 3-4 weeks ago) unable to order the 2.0TSI in Edition trim with a few options from the factory. I called around a few different places looking for deals and ended up going with a 2.0TSI Edition in the colour I wanted that had already been built and was sat at the port in Germany awaiting a boat. It was one the dealer had pre-ordered to sell on their forecourt. So I ended up deciding I wasn't that bothered about the few options I wanted and managed to get a decent deal (SE L trim price) for this Edition. I am due to receive it from the dealer in the next 2 weeks (rather than the next 4-5 months). I was assured that nobody knew of an upcoming facelift or when and what that might involve. Hope this helps shed some light on what is going on.
  21. It is a bit of a trawl as the same product is on the site hundreds of times with different despatch locations. I managed to get some for $6.97 delivered by the end of the month despatched from Spain. The next best price on ebay in the UK was £18. That guy must be doing well for himself!
  22. Just ordered some of those under seat air vents. Didn't know they existed until I read this thread. I thought those vent spaces were surprisingly ugly and very visible when I test drove a Kodiaq a few weeks ago. I ordered with shipping from Spain so should be here in 2 weeks or so.
  23. I just got a cheap £30 Old Shark cam from Amazon with a 32gb SD card. Decent quality and has worked fine for the last year. It is mounted to the left of the rear view mirror and i just push the cable into the headliner trim, down the pillar under the glovebox, behind the trim of the gearbox tunnel and into the power point with a USB adapter. I am happy enough for the camera to record all the time. The USB adapter I got has a volt meter so I can make sure it isn't running the car battery down. I only unplug it when away from home for long holidays when it might run the battery down.
  24. I have heard recommendations of using a coffee filter paper as they are lint free. I haven't tried it yet though.
