Must still be in that meeting..... Does anyone know what options there are going forward? Ie, if we continue to wait, can we demand they either give us our car back fixed or another of a similar spec? Or, would we have to accept a return of our money, even though it is now worth more than we bought it for? Just curious to know what options are in front of us if they can't fix it (which is looking more likely for many of us).

I'll believe it when I see it..... (or hear it, I guess).

I've emailed Kate a few times and have NEVER received a reply. Likewise, I haven't heard from Kate Laws in over 2 months. To say their customer service at this 'highest level' is bordering upon the rediculousness of TalkTalk levels is an understatement.

Noone has ever broached the question of offering me an alternative car. However, I already have a superb so I'd likely only accept a similarly specced Karoq or Kodiak. Which I can't see them offering. However, is there a point where even they admit that enough is enough? Has anyone got back in touch with honest John etc to let them know that those who contacted them still don't have their cars back after what, nearly 6 months?

Well, update from me. They managed to source me a diesel Passat. However, it is a vastly inferior trim to my Octavia. No ACC etc. I am getting to the end of my pateience waiting now. I think i'll give them another month then demand a full refund and go elsewhere. I believe I've gave them more than enough time.

Hi Folks, Has anyone else had an issue getting a proper alternative loan car? I've had a diesel Octavia estate since this whole thing started (apart from one time when it broke too). Now, it has been sold and they are looking to replace it. However, my local Skoda dealer is unable to provide me with a diesel. So they outsourced it to Europcar. Who are also unable to provide a diesel. In fact, they currently only have a Fiat 500 ?! But, I drive 500 miles a week. my local garage has tried to say that the different in mileage between a diesel and a petrol is minimal. I know this is ridiculous because it that was the case, I'd likely have just bought a petrol at the beginning. But where do i stand? A petrol is going to cost my significantly more in fuel. Its also not comparable to my car which they've had since 3 weeks after I bought it! MY local dealer is bearing the brunt of my complaints (as Kate hasn't been in touch in over 6 weeks). But he has pretty much said that there's nothing they can do if neither he nor eurocar can offer a diesel. And that he needs the car back as its sold. So there's nothing that can be done on their end. I'm not happy with this for obvious reasons. But where do I stand?

No idea. I haven't been contacted by Kate in over 6 weeks. And at no point have I been told I'm a tester or even if I'd like to be a tester.

So, my story drags on. Update today from local Skoda garage which has my car. Looks like I'm not getting mine back anytime soon. And now they are trying to find me another car as they could only offer me a petrol courtesy. Which I refused as I drive 500 mile's a week. unless they were paying for fuel. "Good Afternoon Mark. Just to let you know the second replacement dash panel has arrived, we have fitted it but the secondary issue is still present. We have fed back to SKODA on this and we are awaiting on further instruction. I have updated Kate at Customer Services of the situation. Unfortunately the Sales Department have agreed the sale of the Octavia you are currently using as a replacement car. I have a Karoq DSG here to replace it with. I need to organise a time to do that, can you advise when would suit you? Kind Regards"

I haven't had an update from Kate or Skoda UK in over a month.

The latest response I received after querying the continued delay (note that akoda uk stopped updating me with their generic response about 4 weeks ago): "Apologies for the delay. We are still addressing the recorded fault that seemed to be introduced when the new dash panel was fitted. The original issue is resolved, the new ‘fault’ is only an electronic artifact within the self-test system of the car, it does not appear to be actively affecting anything but we need it to be clear to be sure everything is working correctly. Our guidance has been to source a further replacement panel as we have been unsuccessful with clearing it with software or coding. At the moment we are waiting on that further part arriving. I will let you know as soon as it is here. Regards"

I haven't heard back from them. Other than when I rang last week and was told that the head unit fixed the problems HOWEVER, it raised another error (they didn't specify what it was) and were waiting to hear back from Skoda UK. That was a week ago. nothing since.

Excellent. Well, if I'm unable to change the units between kmph and mph it's staying with them. Manager told me he'd ring me today. Guess we will see.

Got generic email again this morning: "Following on from my last contact with you, the resolution is currently under testing and we are waiting for communication back from the factory. Please let me assure you that we are treating your concerns with the upmost importance and it is for that reason it is taking slightly longer for me to come back to you than I anticipated. I can confirm we are working to ensure our investigations are completed within a timely manner and I will once again update you further in 1 week. Thank you for your continued patience. Kind regards" So, which one is it? They have a fix which they are installing today and hoping to hand back tomorrow (which the garage manager said yesterday)? OR, they still testing it and not working on it with no date in sight ( as per usual this past 6 months). Someone is providing incorrect information....

Recoded - Not recorded Oops. Call me an idiot, but I don't see how only changing a display unit (rather than the hardware that runs said displays, software and computing) will solve this problem.... so call me skeptical at best.

So, the manager at the garage has just called because he had to pick up my second key (seems they have to be recorded after this update) and he said that they are only replacing the actual head display unit. Nothing else.

You'd have thought they'd put in whatever unit is in the newest models of the octavias and known to be working?
-
KPH/MPH
I had thought they'd put the latest one in as that would be what's coming off the production line.

So I got a call from my garage today that has my car. They say they have been instructed to fit a whole new console unit. Which they will be doing tomorrow and then they will be giving me my car back. Is this good news? Finally? What is a console unit lol. Is it the full computer system basically?

I havent heard from Skoda about my courtesy car since they gave it to me months ago.... Also, haven't heard from Kate Laws in 2 weeks now. Zero updates. Zero progress. **** poor. I emailed her and never got a reply either. Again, **** poor. For someone who is meant to be high up in customer relations, this says a lot about the company right now.

I also replied tommine last week as well and have yet to get a reply. Starting to get fed up. Wasting money in tax and insurance as well.

I haven't had my generic weekly update this week.....

I had the same generic email now too. It's becoming a bit of a joke between the wife and I as we expect the email each and every Thursday. Given the lack of progress, I can safely say I won't buy a Skoda again. Which is such a shame after having (and still using) my great Superb MK3. It's obvious that Skoda is going downhill again after doing so well in recent years to make their brand status more inviting for consumers. When I got this car, I raised a list of faults in writing to the Skoda garage I bought it from and demanded they be fixed. I believe that because I raised the issue in the first 30 days (and have the email and replies as proof) of buying it (all done remotely and online, so better buyer protection), (and because Skoda is still working on it) I likely have the right to return it at any time if they are unable to fix it (which it seems they can't).

Got my weekly 'non update' update email yodaym saying the same thing it says every other week . No update from factory. Working on it. Matter taken seriously. Hope it will be soon. Apologies. Will contact me again next Thursday. Likely with the same email. Extremely poor from Skoda. I know I have likely been put off getting another Skoda in the future. The QA is obviously nonexistent. But for now, I'm happy to pile the miles into the hire car I've been provided. 4500 miles and counting.

I've stopped getting phone call updates now, and instead have got the same generic email two weeks in a row. "Following on from my last contact with you, we are currently awaiting communication from the factory. Please let me assure you that we are treating your concerns with the upmost importance and it is for that reason it is taking slightly longer for me to come back to you than I anticipated. I can confirm we are working to ensure our investigations are completed within a timely manner and I will once again update you further in 1 week.. Thank you for your patience. Kind regards" Seems the update is nowhere near in sight. I've also done 4000 miles on the courtesy car.

She confirmed it with me when I psoted a few weeks ago. I wont be accepting my car back if it isn't fixed and it would still not meet UK Laws.
