I have also contacted honest john (and my dealer) with the followiung list of issues: · When selecting your user account, you get the 'Please be patient' message which doesn't disappear and stops you from using the touch screen at all. This means you can’t access anything such as climate control, sat-nav etc. This is intermittent. Changing user accounts quite often does it. After an hour, the screen had still frozen and was unresponsive for the entire journey, despite rebooting. · Airbag warning – this light has came on a few times. · MPH/KPH Issue - When using the built-in Sat Nav, I am unable to change KPH to MPH. This means when using the virtual cockpit for sat nav (which is one of its primary selling factors) speed is displayed in KPH and not in imperial values. This is pretty dangerous in terms of checking your speed. · MPH/KPH Issue - The speedometer refuses to let you change from MPH to KPH. Again, I will be using this car in Europe going forward after lockdown (we do trips to France for example), and not being able to change this is hazardous. The MPH/KPH are not compliant with UK regulations: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1986/1078/regulation/35/made - so this would need to be fixed. · The car (when you successfully select your user account) doesn't always remember your car settings. So, when I get into the car, select my user, it then doesn't actually load my settings correctly which I have previously selected. Such as lane assist, heads up display settings, etc. So, I need to spend time before I drive away picking my settings again. This is poor as my Superb remembers everything. · Sometimes the car doesn't remember the seat/mirror positions correctly and they need to be readjusted. · Sometimes it just fails to open your user account. You will select it, but it will fail to load continuously, meaning all settings need to be readjusted so you can get on with your journey. · The motion gestures sometimes work/ sometimes don't. · Sluggish DSG gear changing. When in the lower gears, sometimes it randomly revs very high on second and third gear for no reason. There is no correlation between a cold/warm engine. · The voice assistant is a PITA. I think her name is Laura? But it randomly turns itself on during journeys despite me never having uttered its name command.

Yea, please share a photo for your software and hardware revision etc. It's all in the same screen. I don't think this is a software issue.

To add to my problems, an airbag error has popped up today.

You did see, 1668. I mistyped, sorry. But I will double check tomorrow. I wonder if the rest of us will get the 1788 update. It may fix the issues.

Yea, I have heard of the 1788, but my car shows no updates available and I have factory reset it to now avail. The biggest and most annoying issue for me is how (when logging into your user account when getting in the car and putting your pin in) that it can take ages to actually load. On a good day, it takes 5 minutes. On a bad day it just doesn't load, continually shows the spinning circle telling me to be patient and prevents me from doing anything o. The infotainment unit. That particular bug is unacceptable for me.

Well, I'm bringing it in to the garage and asking for a full reinstall of the infotainment system software (or whatever way they do it in a car compared to a computer) to see if that fixes the issues. If it doesn't, then I'm unsure what I'll do. It's not something I can just live with as when it goes, most of the cars systems are unusable, due to the nature of nearly everything having been replaced by the touchscreen unfortunately.

That's what I mean. My superb remembers all of this. The Octavia remembers none and resets all.

Is this the same individual mode where you choose which modes you're any for steering, lights, acc speed etc? My car also doesn't remember that. In my superb, I always use individual mode. And when I get in the car with my key, it automatically uses individual mode as default (unless I change it). Whereas my new Octavia doesn't. It resets that too. Or is this different?

That's a shame. Doesn't do this in my Superb. It remembers my settings.

Well, I sent the below message to my dealer today after having the car two weeks. It will be interesting to see what can be done. But overall, the benefits do not currently outweigh the cons. I much prefer my other car which is a 66 plate Superb MK3 l&k. "Today, the screen was stuck on the 'Please be patient...' message for an entire journey for 40 minutes. My wife even pulled over, got out of the car and turned it off, and then went in again to no avail. During this time, nothing could be used such as air conditioning, etc as it wouldn't let you select anything on the screen. And as this is a car where the majority of functions are controlled via the screen, it is not acceptable and very unsafe if driving. I will try and attach a video/picture of this issue. To be honest, I have loads of cup already as I went through s tonne trying to get one to fit in my superb MK3. So I really don't want to buy anymore. I would like something that slots in to make it bigger. There are things for sale on Amazon etc but I don't know if they fit. Just wondering if anyone has tried one.

I hate the cup holder. It's too small for any hot drinks cup I can find. Has anyone found an insert etc to make it bigger and useable?

It would seem that a lot of these things will be possible when vcds works. As the majority use existing hardware and it's just deactivated software stopping it from working .

Hmm. Well I have traffic jam assist. I am unsure what 'adaptive lane assist' actually is, predictive cruise control looks the same as adaptive cruise control, but I don't have traffic sign recognition.

What is travel assist exactly?

All I can see is my traveling speed and lane assist. I wouldn't pay extra for it to be honest. I don't feel it is worth it.

I have an SEL first edition and the heads up display doesn't display speed limits for me here in the UK.

Yup, to confirm, I have an SEL first ed. Wireless android auto does not work. You have to use a cable.

I thought this would be the case. It is going to come down to: 2 new summer tyres or 4 new all-weather tyres..... Unfortunately I did not rotate the tyres so that the tread would be equal. But lockdown didn't help as I was still going 500 miles per week and wasn't able to leave it in anywhere....

Hi FOlks, 2 of my tyres are worn down and need replaced. They are Avon ZV7's. I am looking at possibly getting some like Nokian Weatherproofs (or similar) and I think all season tyres may suit the country roads I use in Scotland a little better. However, I currently only need 2 tyres. The other 2 have a load of wear left. If I only replace 2, and then not replace the other 2 with all season tyres until they are needed, will this be an issue? I would really much rather not have to buy 4 new tyres..... Also, what tyres do people reccommend now for the Superb? BOth Summer and All Season? There are a tonne of options. Thanky ou,.
