Me again. Based on the previous postings and in the interest of engine longevity, I have decided to change the oil every 6000 ish miles. I am going to use 5/40 oil and a genuine filter. My question is, I have 5litres of oil in stock already- Fuchs Titan gt xtl. It has 502 vw approval. I am presuming that this will be ok to use. What we saying?

Turn the radio up Nathan. I've been there myself with the rattle phobia, albeit in my younger days. You find yourself chasing one rattle after another. It becomes obsessive.

Thanks Offski, I want to keep my car so 502 looks like the way to go. Are the 508/509 oils ok , or will they suffer the same issues?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but why do you say Long life oil can mean short life engine?

I find the pana roof one of the best features on my monte. It makes the interior feel light and airy. plus you can always close the sun blinds.

What is the easiest way to remove the center cap from my Monte alloys? I am going to apply Bilt Hamber autowheels to clean them and the instructions warn to avoid any plastic trim. Ta Andy

Didn't work on my P8 lite. No worries, i'm not that fussed about it anyhow. The phone connects ok via bluetooth and I can use the mapping by hanging the phone from a dashboard mount. Worth a try though.

Had to look on youtube to find out how to access the developer tools option, but sorted now. Not yet tried it on the car. If this works you have sorted out a problem that many tech geeks have failed to do. Harry you may be about to become a Tech guru.

I can heartily recommend Angelwax vision glass cleaner and even more so, Angelwax H2go sealer. Far easier to apply than Rain x and more efficient at repelling the rain. IMHO of course.

Think I will give the WS a shot. I always re apply the wax after a decon.

I find the de-misting of the Fabia quite poor, not enough to make me get rid of it but far inferior to my wife's Fiesta. Once the car is warm it seems ok and I have not had the problems to the extent that some of the members of this thread have experienced. I once owned an Audi 80 that had horrendous misting problems. I trace it to a recirc flap that was stuck closed. When you switch the recirc button on/off you should notice a change in the tone of the blower.

I think it's a QG1 or QG2 code. I'm sure it tells you in the manual.

According to the sticker in the boot it has variable service intervals. The oil was changed at 3500mls. I am assuming I can use the fixed service oil or the long life. Is this correct?

Looks like it's going to be Tardis, although I have to admit I am tempted to use white spirit simply for the convenience/cost. Cheers guys,
