Inspection service
Interesting then why Skoda provide option to reset oil service light. (Not Inspection light)

Inspection service
My car is 2017 There is no service plan, I do have purchased warranty. It has done 39,000 miles. Interesting your view on oil change, they allow owners to reset the ‘oil service light’

Inspection service
My Kodiaq had the ‘Oil Service’ notification. I changed the oil & filter, and reset the ‘Oil Service’ light (by holding SET button) That went out, but now says ‘service inspection’ Does this mean Annual Service due ? Anybody know if dealer will do this without changing oil & filter, as only done today.

There are other views : " while diesel fuel contains slightly more carbon (2.68kg CO₂/litre) than petrol (2.31kg CO₂/litre), overall CO₂ emissions of a diesel car tend to be lower. In use, on average, this equates to around 200g CO₂/km for petrol and 120g CO₂/km for diesel." https://theconversation.com/fact-check-are-diesel-cars-really-more-polluting-than-petrol-cars-76241

Add on engine tuning
The Tech blurb says ......"The switching operation between the two cam lobes is controlled by the ECU which takes account of engine oil pressure, engine temperature, vehicle speed, engine speed and throttle position. Using these inputs, the ECU is programmed to switch from the low lift to the high lift cam lobes when certain conditions are met. At the switch point a solenoid is actuated that allows oil pressure from a spool valve to operate a locking pin which binds the high RPM rocker arm to the low RPM ones."

That was design excellence of Honda VTEC. variable valve timing engine.

Add on engine tuning
Yes the OP is about tuning boxes. You can get more power by changing timing & duration of fuel injection, which was the point I was trying to make …. Was previously done by changing the cam.

Add on engine tuning
You can get more power out - prior to ECU, it used to be common to change to a stage 2 cam for example .... opened inlet vale more and for longer. Did produce more power by the allow more fuel/air mix into chamber ..... with injection & ECU you can have far more precise control, but it still needs more fuel

Add on engine tuning
My warranty finished last year .... now have a purchased warranty. It does say can be plugged in and unplugged without trace - so that would get round the warranty issue. As mentioned accept the power increase is easy enough, but the increase in the economy does not normally follow - be good if someone here has fitted and we get feedback.

Add on engine tuning
Anybody used the add on tuning boxes on a Kodiaq. CRTD4 TRIPLE CHANNEL WITH RPM DIESEL TUNING BOX CHIP SKODA KODIAQ 2.0 TDI https://tdi-tuning.com/en-gb/car/skoda/kodiaq/20-tdi-187-bhp-190-ps-140-kw-400-nm-295-lbft/crtd4-triple-channel-with-rpm-diesel-tuning-box-chip Promises increase of 60hp. And 20% increase in fuel economy. Always thought if it was that simple then manufacturers would fit as standard …. You can always get more power and torque by pushing in more fuel, but that would not give hp increase.

Headlight washer
All that holds cover on to the assembly are 2 very thin plastic hooks .... as you say easy to make them much more substantial ... 'follows ... 'Bare minimum required' design approach. If it were a Mercedes it would be much better engineered .... but at a cost.

Flkap was hit when a towing strap snapped ...... big rufty tufty Kodiaq got stuck in sand, 4WD did NOT kick it and it could not come out in 2WD I had a Fiat Panda tow me out ! First nylon strap broke and flick back hit the flap and killed it. Haldex unit did not do its thing and engage rear wheel drive

The issue is you cant buy the jet ..... you have to buy the whole telescoping assembly .. (annoyingly) Simple job to unclip jets and swap over. They really should sell the jets as a spare, especially as it provides nige point for the flap

Headlight washer
I bought a new cover plate, and paint kit. Sprayed it up. Bought the washer unit (unhappily). With a small screwdriver I unclipped the jet assembly off end (held on by ridges) Pulled the telescoping tube forward, then removed the damaged jet assembly, swapped this out for broken one on the car and clipped on new cover plate … couple of minutes job at most. no adjustment as it is a floating type fitting.

Headlight washer
Don't see superglue being any help, unless you remove the headlamp washer and glue the cover plate permanently into position. The cover flap needs to be able to rotate on its hinge (where is attached to head of washer jet) Glue rigid ... won't seat back on nicely (at least my thoughts The cover flap is hheld back under tension .. and as it can rotate on hinge it self locates for good fit. I do think its ridciulaous that the simple plastic end pices ... of washer (which had jets and hinge pin) is not available as a part ..... the whole large telescoping piston assenbly is not needed ... just the clip on tip.

Updating Map f/ware
Yes .. accept that, but it is still wrong about format of those cards ... you cannot use 64GB card with FAT32 (at least as designed and formatting from W10) As a software installtion guide it is poorply written and contains factual errors.

Updating Map f/ware
I have no knowledge of whether NTFS will work or not. My post referred to the fact the instructions state to use FAT32 which you can’t. (Due to file size) I used exFAT which is a more optimised file structure for Memory sticks … it’s almost a reduced instruction version of NTFS. exFAT worked fine …. If you have used NTFS and it worked then good success for you.

Updating Map f/ware
No ... exFAT is one file format and and NTFS is another I am refering to exFAT which is a file sytems specifially optimized for Memory Sticks While NTFS is widely used on HDD on memory sticks exFAT is more widepsead. If you want the details ... https://www.howtogeek.com/73178/what-file-system-should-i-use-for-my-usb-drive/

Headlight washer
Bought the expensive piece of plastic .. painted it, went to fit…. And found plastic clip on the extending washer arms was broken. as this is a removable jet … wanted new jet …. No you have to buy the whole assembly …. Expensive waste. Having bought new assembly I just swapped over the removable jet, then clipped on the new plastic trim.

Rear Brakes
Yep ... I measured the thread .. M12 and then bought M12 tool .... -wrong - they have the M14 head. Even M14 does not measure as M14 .... its 13.5. Be a lot better if they just used Hex head bolts.

Rear Brakes
Note these are M14 not M12
