  1. My 190 PS DSG has 2.2T tow capacity
  2. I agree ...... first time I opened my bonnet was when washer fluid light came on .......
  3. Fiollowing that logic do you also think same of company cars ? ... they arrive and are expeected to be fully at work staight away. Owner knows he is handing it back in 2yrs time, irrespective of how its driven no cost penalty.
  4. For my Edition it was a clear statement from Skoda that you could not fit a tow-bar to a 7 seat variant. Assume it was total loading on rear suspension .... had to be different design for 7 seats.
  5. All I can say is that I bought my Edition (new) and dealer advised as long as I ordered the 5 seat variant I could fit my own tow-bar. They even worked with Tow-bar installer and get it fitted before collection. The tow-bar was correctly coded in to CAN-Bus No extra cost.
  6. I have the 190PS ...... simply did not floor the throttle at all in first 1000 miles ..... and varied speed on motorway, nothing special stated. Think about all the hire cars at Hertz, Diollar, Avis etc. ...... they just get driven, no running-in. Running in came from much older design engines, white metal bearings etc. At one time you had to re-torqure head bolts after 2,000 miles and change the oils ...... no longer needed. Interesting asside - I had a new boat this that required extension running-in porogramme .... First 10 mins at 1500 rpm Up to first 2 Hrs minimum revs to keep boat on plane, and no more than 5min at any particular rpm Next 8hr operate at no more than 3/4 throttle during normal use, and full throttle for no more than 2 mins Next 10 Hrs you can operate at full throtlle at no more than 10 mins at a time This is a marinised 280 hp 4.3L Chevrolet engine.
  7. Not really, the GFV figure was set before I got the 5k off the price. I don’t think that is a bad deal. I wont be getting another Kodiaq ... as can’t get a 5 door that will tow 2.2T. I am considering buying, run it on for a few months then sell .. in parallel I’m going to buy a 10 -12yr old 4x4 just for towing, with intention of keeping for as long as I need to tow. Upgrade wife’s compact to a midsize and that will be main car.
  8. There is a 4WD button to left of the gear shift lever , switches to 4WD, diff lock, changes display to incline, etc.
  9. Never had any car where GFV is correct JEEP were bad and BMW were awful. My last car I just handed back - as used price was less than GFV .... they then tried to say car was below GFV, knocking £500 down as there was corossion on alloy wheels ..... I was lucky had an extra years warranty do told them to go change the alloys themselves - guess its normal that they try to pay you back less. What you think is fair wear & tear on 3 yr old car 35,000 mile car .... is irrevevant they expect car to be in almost perfect condition.
  10. I paid way under the Odds when I bought it. Had dealer ‘best price’. Then went to CarWow that got me almost £5k off car from the same dealer ! The valuation is from 2 different sites for ‘private sale prices’ As you specifically mentioned... guarateed price, I just put details into “We buy any car”. They give guarateed price of £21,565 Which is always going to be less than private sale.
  11. The car is Apr 2018 ... and currently 29,200 miles I specifically wanted Automatic as that then updates tow capacity to 2.2T The manual is too low rated of my needs. At the time Skoda said only 5 seat variants could have a tow bar (rear suspension configuration) suited me as I only want 5 seat. To be fair the DSG box is amazing, always in the right gear .... multiple modes via the central control. Also you can set up gearbox and other responses (such as steering firmness) ... and create your own custom mode. I tow a boat on weekends in the Summer, and the Automatic has been brilliant, select 4WD and it pulls up slipway effortlessly, as slow or as quick as you want, no wheel slip at all. Surprising that Skoda have now lost 2.2T by dropping the 190ps engine.
  12. My post was about whether to hand keys in or buy the car - no intention of getting a nother. Car valuation sites on line put in at £22,000 so looks like £4k of equity I can't get another as Edition not available any more, and neither is the 190 ps engine .... or a 5 seater than can tow 2.2T
  13. My Kodiaq finance scheme comes to an end in 3 months. There is a £16k bubble payment, or hand the keys in and walk away. Do they sell well 2nd hand ? ... in which case I could buy it and run on a few months before selling. it’s a 2018 Kodiaq Edition .... 5 seat with Tow bar. Has the DSG automatic box, and the higher power 190ps engine. Few extras such as auto tailgate opening & adaptive speed control.
  14. When I bought mine you could not have 7 seat + tow bar ... if you wanted a tow bar then it had to be 5 seater (which I have)
  15. On my Car #1 Individual keys do not remeber seperate seat settings #3 Yes - in settings #4 No #10 No #11 No #13 not legal in UK #15 only what you see #18 you could have engine chipped - but wave goodbye to warranty
  16. On my last car .. set the stations I wanted, main ones had logos... others were blank.. but within a day all had correct logo via station transmitted download. DAB radios can get Logos from within the digital data stream (xPAD) from individual stations, or as part of the EPG guide. So likelihood is AG do not fully support xPAD.
  17. Same here most are automatically applied... only 2 are blank, not bothered to add. On other cars it has been fully automatic.
  18. Only ever put 2 on ... it said good for 4 but I think 2 is enough weight.
  19. I just have a clip on tailgate rack.... rests on tailgate, and held in place by 4 straps that clip over the tailgate lip. It works, it’s much cheaper than any roof system.
  20. Not helpful to your issue but my tailgate can be opended form a lot further away that 2m ...... ofetn open from front door of house ... at least 5m away.
  21. OK ... then I have the 2L 190ps variant ... maybe not an issue on this version.
  22. I have a Kodiaq there was no requirement to alter cooling. I even have it in writing from dealer that fitting 3rd party Towbar does not invalidate the warranty as long as professionally fitted.
  23. Mine does not interfere with parking sensors, but auto tailgate opener (wave your foot). is unreliable, but it may have been just as bad without Towbar
