  1. Thanks for getting back to me - sorry to hear about your health & employer issues, fingers crossed for you.
  2. @TheWanderer- how did you get on with the hatch boot mat, did the Mk3 fit the Mk4?
  3. Thanks @100andthirty. Putting the dog cage on the roof bars would be an excellent way to free up space in the boot! I don't think the RSPCA will buy into the idea
  4. I'm looking for some advice for my friend's Dad who has just bought a 17 plate MkIII Superb Estate (I am an Octy owner). He is looking for recommendations for a dog cage/crate and roof bars - can anyone advise?
  5. Thanks @StickyMicky I'll check out your suggestions 👌
  6. Maybe a weird question, but here goes.. I am going to be selling (on eBay) an interior seat set for an Octavia Mk3 and I need to find a pallet courier. Can anyone recommend a pallet courier that they have used? I need to work out a general cost to send from Fife to anywhere in the UK (albeit I realise there are restrictions / increased cost for some ares like the Scottish Highlands) so I can list it. Any advice (related to the question - this has happened before!) would be greatly appreciated 😀
  7. I'd suggest you check that the blue connector at the back of the headunit (in the glovebox) is connected. You'll need two removal keys (eBay, cheap as chips) to remove the headunit. If it is connected and you don't want the pain of dealing with a Skoda dealer you can buy a cheap GPS receiver that can be plugged into the headunit and the receiver hidden in the dash (behind the radio screen).
  8. Thanks @SashaGrace. I am retrofitting a highline reverse camera. My car has a quadlock (T-harness) extension and the numbers printed on it seem to be wrong, this has caused hours of confusion yesterday! Block E (on your diagram) shows the CAN High & Low (pins 6 &12) on the left of the block which concurs with the Golf Mk7 pinout diagram, my harness had the numbers printed on the right! I will also need to go back and check the video connection wires (Block B) are in the correct pins. Incidentally do you / anyone know if the the FBAS IN+ and OUT- pins are used for anything else - the extension harness I have has wires in all pins (as is normal for a replacement harness) and I have had to remove the wires in these pins - I am assuming these are not connected to anything but just extra wires in the harness? I hope this makes sense!
  9. Does anyone have a pin out diagram for the Amundsen head unit? Having been on Erwin, the only thing I can find is a pin out diagram for an e-Golf Mk7. I am trying to confirm the pin outs for the area in red rectangle in the diagram below - I assume the numbering will be the same for the Octy?
  10. I agree completely; I only ever washed my alloys with the same shanpoo (Bilt Hamber) that I washed my car with - nothing corrosive. It seems to be a very poor standard of centre cap. The ones I've purchased from eBay are nearly identical to the OEM ones (minor difference in the detail of the wing tips on the emblem, and not noticable without getting down to look at them), it will be interesting to see how they fair in comparison.
  11. Good advice, thanks @GreenMachine1.6
  12. I changed my wheels just over a year ago and fitted new original Skoda centre caps. I'm very disappointed with them as the edges have blistered already. Rather than fork out for OEM centre caps I've gone for some from AliExpress and also a backup set from eBay. Photos of the OEMs removed, excuse the holes, I find it easier to drill with an 8mm bit and pull them out with the drill (or an Allan key after drilling). Please note: the caps look considerably worse than the photo shows!
  13. The switch can be popped out using a trim tool. There's a single electrical connector underneath. Are you sure it's the switch and not a wire rattling? I upgraded my mirrors to folding puddle lights and I didn't properly secure the wire to the mirror connector (on the passenger side) before reassembling. It nearly drove me bananas. Taking the door card off is easy enough with the correct tools - there's a guide on here somewhere.
  14. Excellent, above and beyond! Thank you 😀
  15. Thanks @wg100 & @SashaGrace for your advice. I'm now not so sure I want to go for the highline - the main attraction was that it was pre-calibrated (according to the eBay link posted earlier in the thread) and also the wash jet function. I have a camera (well two actually, I thought the cut-out/handle for my car (a 15 plate) would be the same as Sasha's, but it's the larger cut-out/ handle) from AliExpress and may go down the lowline route (and no washer).
  16. I'm looking into the retrofit of the highline camera - I'm pleased to see the info here, thanks. One question, probably a stupid one (?), the camera has a wash pipe - does this connect to the rear wiper hose? I've reviewed the install instructions for the RVC but there is no mention of the wash pipe?
  17. There's red stitching ones on AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33020228704.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000013.1.7536312eTl8lbf&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.14977.161855.0&scm_id=1007.14977.161855.0&scm-url=1007.14977.161855.0&pvid=4a668096-a59a-47bf-aee4-73438d0e4535&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller,scm-url:1007.14977.161855.0,pvid:4a668096-a59a-47bf-aee4-73438d0e4535,tpp_buckets:668%230%23163581%237_668%23808%235965%23563_668%23888%233325%237 I'm not altogether convinced on them though and it would take away from the crazy Dad routine of barking at the children for putting their mucky feet on the seat backs 🤣
  18. @Vilho I'm not altogether sure. I suspect the backseat may be the same, but the door cards will differ? It may be worth reviewing an online parts catalogue to see if there are different part numbers for wagon / hatchback. I had a quick check of the Body Work manual, Section 72 - Seat Frames, however there is no mention of difference in the installation/removal of the rear bench.
  19. @matthew richards this is the guide you need. Note, there is now an Octavia harness available so you don't need to modify the Golf Mk7 wiring connectors that I had to. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/464025-vrs-heated-leather-seat-retrofit/?tab=comments#comment-5208464
  20. I have a full vRS seat set (including handbrake gaitor with both auto and manual gearsticks/gaitors) in black with silver thread. It came from my 2015 vRS and is in excllent condition - I swapped out for a leather interior last year. I've haven't got round to putting it on eBay - this thread reminded me! If anyone is interested then PM me. Even better if you want to pick up rather than ship (it fits on a standard pallet), I'm based in Fife.
  21. I used the following two links to do this on my car, based on Sasha's work - this should save a lot of reading time:
