Fakra DAB Connectors

Featured Replies

I have been installing a re-worked Amundsen MIB2 unit to my car - an excellent job from @pab567 on the software and hardware hack  - I'm very pleased 😀😀😀.

However, in my rush to do so I have broken the DAB Fakra plug on the rear of the radio and damaged the male connector from the wiring harness. Does anyone know where I can source replacement parts? I've had a look on eBay and a general internet search but I'm struggling! Any advice would be appreciated!

Crikey @JohnnyType2 that was quick off the mark! Thanks, I'll forward the details to radio repairer who has the unit.

I can't wait to get the MIB2 up and running - I had it with all functions except DAB after destroying the connectors and I'm a big BBC Radio 6 fan (and sadly also Planet Rock) 😁

Nothing sad about planet rock best station on dab !

i did fit a genuine roof fin with GPS unit as well

hi mate thanks for that, but I’m actually only after the blue connector that is on the MIB unit itself, basically I’ve upgraded to the MIB 2.5 head unit and have only realised he. Fitting that the connector is missing

The gray is a blanking plug to protect the MOST (fibre optic) connector. It's used to connect to the amp and/or virtual cluster.

As for the fakra connectors:

- Yellow is USB.

- Pink is the screen.

- Blue is GPS.

- White double is FM/AM and second FM.

- Purple is GSM.

The quadlock has pins for everything else, including but not limited to:

- power

- ground

- CAN-bus

- microphone

- reversing camera

- aux in

- extra USB power

- speakers (where no amp is used)

can I use the gray (MOST) connector to connect a reverse camera? or better go with the quadlock version in the blue connector?

I've never seen a reverse camera with an optical MOST connection???

No... It's only for the amp and instrument cluster. I would be amazed if the software supported a camera over MOST.

Use the quadlock as per the factory fitted RVC.

Any recommended camera that works for this model?

Also, do I have to update anything in the software to activate it?
