  1. I dont think so..its something that has developed rather than a characteristic of the car...you can feel it through the steering as well as hear it drumming through the cabin:)
  2. My VRS 170 started to develop what felt like the wheels were out of balance , and it predictably went away if you drive through it ( around 90-95 though)...what is different though is that the drumming and vibration appear to be noticeably worse under acceleration especially int he higher gears between 65 and 85..I have had 2 new tyres replaced and still the problem persists and I am beginning to suspect the drive shafts or the DMF...any suggestions?? before I take it to the dealer as I suspect they are going to be quite uninterested unless I can explain it better:(
  3. I have had mine for about a month and have done 1500 miles so far..best I had ona sigle trip was 48mpg in a straight run from Bournemouth to Portsmouth.. I reckon I am averaging about 39 to 40 mpg which considering I am 'running in' is slightly disappointing....although beats my last cars 20mpg by some margin:)
  4. I ordered my VRS tdi170 and it was delivered within 3 weeks.. helps if you choose one with limited or popular options:)
  5. Nah..silver...wife said I am too old for race blue..and anyway it seems like blue is the only colour anyone else is choosing..and I like to be a bit different..... Wont be ablt to do this weekend but I shall look at some future dates and see if I can come along:cool:
  6. Water ingress is a common problem across the VAG range..My daughters Seat Leon has been back 4 times and still no cure..When its in the front its often from the pollen filter being fitted incorrectly...worth having it checked to ensure the seal is properly located... Otherwise it could be the door itself ..the drain holes get blocked and then it fills with water until it runs in over the sill..certainly the case with Golfs and Leons so I expect Skoda has the same design (flaw:mad: )
  7. My dealer was at pains to point out the need to clear the DPF by driving regularly ata constant speed with higher revs.....havent had the DPF light on yet....( and like the excuse to drive it properly:cool: ) I have had the Glowplug relay fault though..AA reset it first time then when it came on again the dealer replaced the relay with a Bosch one and touch wood no further problems:thumbup:
  8. Yes Sparshatts were the supplying dealer..they replaced the relay with a Bosch one which is apparently the fix for the relay....it didnt take long once they agreed to have a look...
  9. Thanks Stu Interesting site with some good snippets ..... Is your Octavia Petrol?? So far all I have had is a problem with the glow plug relay which was replaced in about half an hour ( although the dealer was a bit awkward about looking at it without a proper appointment:thumbdwn: ) Car is almost run so it will be interesting to see how well it goes when you are trying:cool:
  10. I dont have one..but I always loved the old rally cars.. Somehwere about I have some good photos of them in action on the RAC rally in about 1984..Most were taken at Harewood House nr Harrogate... Wouldnt mind one as toy either:cool:
  11. Evening.....my name is Gerry and I am the proud owner of an Octavia vRS TDi170.. I have had the car for about 3 weeks now and so far I am very chuffed with it.. Hoping the forum will have some useful tips for upgrades in due course and god forbid anything goes wrong, but some trouble shooting advice... If the forum does drinks, then the bar is open:)
