I specced DCC on the sportline plus combi I've ordered based on what I'd read and the (pretty short) test drive in an L&K that had it fitted as standard. Having read more it seems that opinion is divided between people who say standard sports suspension is better than DCC (in any mode including sport). Main reason for speccing is to keep the family more comfortable (and less travel sick) on long journeys whilst having the ability to make it a bit more exciting when I'm driving on my own. Not too late to change the spec but keen for some opinions from both sides of the DCC fence!

Good to know! How's your 272 to drive? Only test drive a 220 as no 272/280 at the time. What options did you go for?

Ordered a 272 Sportline Plus this week and told 12 weeks till delivery. Let the countdown begin.

Been watching it like a hawk on a daily basis. Relieved they have finally changed over and the order book has opened!

I've been waiting to place an order for the 272 (which replaces the 280) for months - I'm told the order book opens next week but they've been saying that for a while so take with a pinch of salt. Also told to expect a price rise any day now. It's a bit of a shambles to be honest and nobody seems to be able to give a really accurate account of what's going on. If it wasn't such a great car I'd have definitely gone elsewhere by now.

Cheers for the opinions! Still can't place an order in the UK...and from what I'm told the prices are due to go up next week, so that may put the Estate beyond the £40k threshold for tax. Wish Skoda would get their act together.

Anyone regret picking one over the other? I'm torn between both. Boot space on the hathback is vast (bigger than many mid-size SUVs including Q5 so wondering whether it's worth going for the Estate given how infrequently I expect a full boot load of stuff.

Can you not just disable it with a button on the centre console?

Hope you don't get nudged over...or at least if you do the dealer knocks some off the OTR price to compensate. I'm ready to order a Sportline Plus Estate I specced up right up to within a few quid of the 40k mark. Any increase and I'm going to have to go for the hatchback instead!

Cheers for this. I was told the other day the pricing for the 272 had now been confirmed but that it hadn't made its way onto the UK configurator. Do you know how much these prices represent an increase on previous? And any reason the price should go up at all?!

Whole thing is a mess when it comes to new orders, nobody has a clue what's happening. I've spoken to three different dealers and got three different answers. Still being quoted 2 weeks before any new orders are being taken, but honestly nobody knows. Like you, I'm getting to the point of wondering whether it's really worth it for the 5-6 month wait.

@eddgee how annoying...hope they get it fixed for you ASAP. Still 2 weeks before they are taking orders on the 272. I'm absolutely convinced it's going to jump up in price too.

Got a fantastic deal on a new Superb via Coast2Coast. The dealer it linked me to seems like a legit Skoda dealer, but another dealer warned me off using them as said that to get to that price there had to be something dodgy going on. Is that just scare tactics? Anyone used Coast2Coast successfully?

Having been told 3 weeks ago no orders accepted on the superb 272 for 3 weeks, I've just been told the wait is 3 weeks. Groundhog day!

What's the best way to apply the info in the very useful inital post but using the DSG? Manually change gears for first 600(!) miles or will just keeping it in 'normal' mode and using D over S stop the acceleration redlining? Also after how long do you recommend before enabling sport mode?

I'm a bit confused about the new digital dashboards. No mention of it on officail site or car configurator, but on Coast2Coast they have 10.25" screen as an option for £450. Obviously not going to spec if it is going to be standard but if it really is an optional extra is it worth it? Sat Nav in the dash rather than infotainment would be quite useful.

Love the Meteor Grey...really suits the Sportline. Think that's the colour I'm going to go for.

Have sat in both seat types at the dealership and struggling to make my mind up. The Sportsline seats have the sport style 'grips' on the side which make them good if you're tearing around corners but not sure how comfortable they'd be on longer journeys. L&K seats feel more comfortable but I prefer the look of the Sportsline ones. Looking for some opinions from people who've had the car a while and tested either seat long term.

Out of interest what made you go for the L&K over the Sportline and which of the options have been most useful since you've had it?

Have to say L&K feels like you get a lot more for your money than a Sportline...seriously considering it. Surely now that cars are starting to be shipped they will start taking orders again, VW as a whole have lost so much money from the delays I can't imagine they'd delay it a second longer than they have to.

Any word on whether the list price has changed as a result of WLTP? Saw something about the 1.5 engine going up in price by almost £2k and keen not to spec over 40k for tax.

So looks like 3 weeks till the first new 280 272 Superbs touch down in the UK? I'll believe it when I see it!
