Electrical Faults on 19 plate
To clear up the dash cam thing, I've also left mine on for days in previous cars with no ill effect, but they are capable of draining an already depleted battery. If your dealer cannot diagnose the fault, personally I'd be looking to take it to another dealer (maybe not easy where you live), or find a good auto electrician who will hopefully get to the bottom of it and send the bill to your dealer. Hope you get it sorted and let us know what the problem was when you do. With regard to changing the battery, there were problems with Moll batteries in earlier cars that were swapped under warranty, so maybe that's what your dealer had in mind. Or maybe they're just lazy !

Kodiaq Roof Box
Both Roofbox, Amazon and Halfords confirm that the bars needed for the Kodiaq are Thule part No 9582. On the Thule website these are described as Medium. See here https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71-vuu6CdcS.pdf Beware the part of the Amazon site that lists all the sizes for that part number as each size comes up as the same price which is unlikely. And here, although I don't know what the two zeros signify on the end of the part number. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thule-WingBar-Edge-958200-Rails/dp/B00B9DATTO Also be aware that some prices you'll see for the 9582 bars does not include the fitting kit specific to your vehicle, that can be why there's a wide disparity between prices. The Roofbox price includes all the bits you'll need for your Kodiaq. That's the beauty of Roofbox, you just enter your vehicle details or reg No and it lists what you need. Check your cheapo Amazon prices include the fitting kit. I will be annoyed if you mention later that you wanted the black bars 🙄

Electrical Faults on 19 plate
I agree with this as I've had it myself. Apart from your 120 mile trip, tell us about your normal driving habits lately e.g. are you only using the car once a week for a 5 mile trip to the supermarket ? What electricals are you using in the car whilst driving ? If you've got air con, sat nav/radio etc etc on, then short trips aren't enough to replace the the juice you're possibly using. Even before lockdown my mileage was low and I'd get a warning that my battery was getting low. During lockdown it sometimes didn't have enough juice to start the car. Don't forget that even when the car is not being used, the battery is still being drained. Your car also has regenerative braking, so if you're a steady driver doing short trips, the battery will not get enough charge back into it. If your battery is already low when you park your car, then a dash cam left on can be enough break the camels back over a couple of days. Of course, you might simply have an electrical fault, but it's worth thinking about what I've described before trying to reject the car. Annoying though it is, I invested in a trickle charger and a jump start pack due to the above, both of which have proved their worth, both for my car and my wifes.

Rear parking sensor re-set
Yes, having now had my rear view camera fitted, I can attest to this as it's what my garage does. There was a fee of £25 + VAT for this. The owner of the garage I used had to jump through several hoops to get accreditation for this, so I guess that's why some garages don't have access to the full fat version.

Retro rear view camera fitting in West Somerset
I know this is being covered in another thread, but I thought I'd start a fresh thread about it for anyone who lives within striking distance of Weston Super Mare and wants a camera fitted. After asking my local dealer (Carrs) for a price to fit a proper rear view camera and not being surprised when they quoted £549, I shopped around the area to see if anyone else could do the job. I couldn't find anyone who'd done this job before, but there were a couple who were willing to have a go. After reading here about coding problems, I was dubious about an independent doing the job, so whilst awaiting quotes, I put in a phone call to my ex daughter in law, whose partner owns a tuning shop in WSM to see if they could recommend someone for the job. Dave, her partner and the owner said immediately that they could do it, although they'd never done this particular job before. Because of that, once again I was dubious, but the work was done yesterday and they did a cracking job. They ordered the parts peculiar to my car by using the VIN number and my car was picked up yesterday morning and returned last night. This is not normal service, but I'm en route from his home to his work. Everything works perfectly and I wouldn't know they'd been in my car. They said that panel removal was reasonably straightforward and coding was easy for them. The price to normal customers would be £378. Now I know they view me as extended family, but you have my word that I do not have a vested interest in the company and I would never endorse them if they hadn't done a great job for me. My fears about possible damage and an inability to code the camera were completely unfounded. I would certainly return to them if I needed any similar work done in the future. Here they are; https://mobileecotuning.com/

Rear parking sensor re-set
I know little about these things, but I'm having a Skoda rear parking camera fitted tomorrow which will need coding once installed. My garage (an independant) tell me that for £25 + VAT they can log into the VAG system to do this. Can your garage not do the same ? I should point out that my garage is a fully accredited Skoda coder with VAG Germany, maybe yours isn't ?

Lane Keep Assist - how do you use yours?
I feel quite certain that if ZacDaMan72 has a problem with the way I worded my question, then he's more than capable of voicing his own objections, so I'd suggest that the two of you above wind your necks in and mind your own business. Now that could rightly be described as harsh ! I believe you're not the keepers of the realm, or am I mistaken ?

Lane Keep Assist - how do you use yours?
Not really offended, although generally we do tend to be a little more reserved over here. Not a criticism, more an observation, but I've noticed both here and on the other channel that you're often brusque (read rude 😉) which could quite easily offend. Nice of you to apologise, unexpected but appreciated 😁😁.

Cost of extending warranty
Skoda won't let you extend the warranty until the car is almost 3 years old - I've just tried it last week and it spat me out. My dealer confirmed that this is the case. I guess it's because they want to know the current mileage and history before they'll issue a price.

Retrofitted a reverse camera
I know it's a very long shot, but does anyone know of anywhere further south (west) who can do what Chris Farthing does for similar money. I guess someone would have already mentioned it if there were, but there's no harm in asking is there 😃.

Boot measurements
The boot mat doing service in my Kodiaq was originally bought for my MK 11 Superb estate and also saw service in a Hyundai Santa Fe. Apart from each boot being slightly differently shaped, the mat fitted all 3 cars very well. So using that as a yardstick the boot floor measurement in both Superb and Kodiaq with the rear seats set right back is almost the same. A quick internet search shows the Kodiaq 5 seat as having 720/2005 litres and the Superb estate as having 633/1865, so the Kodiaq will hold more allegedly. I think useable space might come into play here. I've taken both cars to France full of my canoeing kit and all the other paraphernalia we take and it seems that I could get more contraband in the Superb than the Kodiaq on the return journey. 😀

Boot measurements
Cars are configured differently. Your Fabia might have a boot nearly as large as the Kodiaq, but it has nowhere near the space in the front and rear seats that the Kodiaq has. I suspect that with the rear seats folded, the Kodiaq beats the Fabia for space. Also, the measurement you were given is with the rear seats pushed all the way back. There will be more space when they're pushed forward. I have a nice trailer you can buy if you want more space 😉

Can I raise the boot floor?
My 5 seater came with no spare wheel, so I bought a space saver. To accommodate it, I removed the polystyrene cradle under the boot floor that held tyre inflation kit. I put the space saver in that space and then I made a raised boot floor using a sheet of chipboard I had in the garage and 6 lengths of 2" X 2" to make some legs high enough for the board to clear the spare wheel. I then placed the original carpeted board on top of the false floor and on top of that I have plastic boot mat. Obviously you don't need to buy a spare wheel, but the false floor was easy to make and cost me virtually nothing.

Should I buy one ?
Me neither, I've had a caravan which I didn't enjoy towing, but I also have a small trailer which is much easier. For info purposes only, my trailer is a Duuo trailer and the bed lifts off the chassis and the chassis is then wheeled into the bed. The whole thing then is tilted over onto 4 permanently fitted castors and can be wheeled anywhere that a a wheelie bin can fit and takes up a similar space to 2 wheelie bins. Not trying to persuade you one way or the other, just letting you know of possible options.

Should I buy one ?
The Vitara with a trailer might be another option.

Kodiaq Service query
Mmm, I'm too cynical to believe that. That's like Boris saying that the great British public have the common sense to social distance and wear masks 🙃. I like your comments about the getting the gauze cleaned though. Who amongst us would know about that if you hadn't mentioned it. The cynicism in me says that manufacturers don't care too much if their products don't last much past the guarantee period, as ultimately that means continued sales of both parts and cars.

Can embedded sim card be used to find vehicle after theft.
No, he answered a question, not the original question that I asked. john999boy did answer my question, but then raised another question that was relevant to my original and remains open.

Can embedded sim card be used to find vehicle after theft.
You are speculating, the question remains to be answered.

Can embedded sim card be used to find vehicle after theft.
That's the question then as I didn't renew Skoda Connect after the first year.

Can embedded sim card be used to find vehicle after theft.
Following a conversation today about tracking stolen cars, I wondered if the embedded sim car in our cars could be used to trace the location of the car ? Before some wag asks "who would steal a Skoda", don't forget that you all own one 😉.

Retrofitted a reverse camera
As you don't have a Kodiaq listed as a car you own, is it fair to assume that you've never fitted a cheap Chinese camera to a Kodiaq ?
