Kamiq Towbar or not to Towbar
This is the sort of thing that bothers me as I'm sure that it's physically possible to fit a tow bar to a Kamiq, but I need to know the reasons why Skoda say don't do it. e.g. is it unsafe, does it need extra cooling, will it bugger up the electrics if it's not coded etc etc. I suspect there's more than one fitter out there who'd say " yeh, I'll do that for you mate" without exploring the possible complications and we, as the general public have no idea what can and shouldn't be done, so we believe the fitter because he says it's okay and he should know - right ? Because of what Skoda advise, is there actually an aftermarket tow bar out there that is made for the Kamiq ? Can I ask which company fitted your tow bar ?

Kamiq Towbar or not to Towbar
I have now spoken to Skoda customer services, who in turn spoke briefly to the technical dept. Apart from wanting a tow bar myself, I'd really like to get to the bottom of why Skoda advise not fitting a tow bar without factory prep. The brief chat with technical revealed no reason for this, so the customer services person is going to raise it as an issue and try to get to the bottom of it further up the food chain. I will post again if I get an answer.

Kamiq Towbar or not to Towbar
THALL, did you get this sorted ? I collect my Kamiq on Friday and will want a towbar, so I spoke via phone to my local tow bar dealer/fitter who told me that he believes that there are ongoing discussions regarding the viability of fitting aftermarket tow bars. I wonder what the problem is with the Kamiq as I had an aftermarket tow bar fitted to my current Kodiaq which didn't have tow bar preparation and wasn't coded to the car and it works fine.

SatNav keeps disconnecting
Maybe too late to the party but, I currently have a Kodiaq with a Columbus system. About 5 weeks after buying the car 3 years ago I was driving in France and a similar thing happened to me about 6 times in 2 days. I took it into the dealer on my return and they checked for loose connections (didn't find any) and rebooted the system, since which I've had no recurrence. Rebooting the system is easy and if you don't know how, just keep your finger on the on/off icon until you hear a bleep, the switch the system on again. You could also try reverting to factory settings, again, easy to do. Not saying these things will work for you, but they're easy, so worth a try. I'm buying a Kamiq next week, so I hope I don't get the same problems.

Kamiq Spare Wheel Set
Whoops sorry, you are correct. That's annoying info as I'll now have to try and sell the wheel and buy new for the Kamiq .
-
Kamiq Spare Wheel Set
The hole in the centre of the space saver is approx 57cm, so I assume it will fit on the Kamiq ? I also assume that maybe I had the wrong size wheel for the Kodiaq .
-
Kamiq Spare Wheel Set
An answer I can understand - thankyou. Will I have to offer the spare wheel up to the Kamiq when I get it, or does it help if I say the wheel was one I bought for my current Kodiaq with 19" wheels ?

Kamiq Spare Wheel Set
Leading on from the OP from which I gleaned very little, I'm in the process of buying an SE L Kamiq with 215/45 R18 tyres. I have in my possession a space saver which I had in my current car, which is 145/85/R18. Will this fit the Kamiq and if so, will it be legal and also, will it fit in the boot well ??

Car Mats
E Bay is always good place to start and for some items, the Skoda shop prices aren't too bad for genuine articles. See here https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/search?type=product&q=kodiaq+floor+mats Shame you're not closer as I'm selling my 18 plate SE L this month and the front rubber mats won't fit the new car.

What Is Missing ??
That's good to know, thankyou, because although I'm selling the Kodiaq I'm staying with Skoda, so I'll be staying with Briskoda.
-
What Is Missing ??
Gosh that's clever, how did you do that ? Reassuring to know that there's probably nothing missing, but the square hole on the top left, plus the slot below it where the wheel nut key is look like they should be filled with something. It also looks like there should be a screwdriver in the centre too, but I'm buxxered if I can find anything else where it's been stored in the attic.

What Is Missing ??
Please ignore this thread, I cannot add the image as file is too big.

What Is Missing ??
Took this tray out when bought the car and replaced it with a spare wheel. I'm now replacing it because I'm selling the car, but there's some bits missing by the looks of things and I don't know what they are. Can anyone tell me what's missing please ? Not sure if I've added the image correctly till I press submit.

Relay Attack - mitigating the risk
It would be tempting, but I'd try to refrain. We're all different and you seem well aware of the possibilities, I just hate the thought of some oik stealing what I/we've worked hard to attain. I was interested to find out if the immobiliser is present and if/how it works. Knowing that it's present in your fob tells me that it's also present in my wifes, although she doesn't have full Kessy, only keyless start. I don't take my Faraday bag out with me, even for me that's a step too far.

Relay Attack - mitigating the risk
Without all of the facts to hand, I'm going to speculate here. A new key fob has a motion sensor that takes 5/10/15 to immobilise the fob ? You arrive home at night, park on the drive, go into your house and lay your fob down and in the minutes that the fob takes to immobilise, the two thieves that were parked across the street run up your drive with their remote signal reader and have it away with your car. Don't think a scenario such as this can't happen, thieves are brazen and are willing to take chances. Secondly, you park in a busy car park. lock the car and walk away. I assume that because the fob is in your pocket and is constantly in motion it won't be disabled. Now I don't know if this is possible, but a couple of bays down from where you parked, there's the same two thieves who nicked your last car from your driveway. They get out of their car, one points his signal reader at you and your fob and the other one goes to your car and opens the door and starts the car. Maybe this can't be done or is very unlikely, but having been the victim of car theft, I know how fast a professional thief can take your car. With these possible scenarios in mind, our keys go into a Faraday bay in the house and I always disable Kessy both at home and when in public places. As rightly stated in the OP, if a thief wants what you've got badly enough, they'll have it, but I see it as my job to make it as difficult as possible for them.

Relay Attack - mitigating the risk
Zac da man of this parish reckons that VAG began fitting motion sensor quite a while ago when I asked a similar question, however, I don't know if they've filtered through to Skoda yet. My question was in relation to a 10 month old Golf we've recently bought for my wife and I've tried several times to find out from VW dealers, VW chat helpline and Honest John whether the Golf fob has motion sensors. I could not find anyone that could give me a straight answer or to phone me back with one, so in the end I gave up and bought her a Faraday the same as I use for my Kodiaq. It's no trouble to use when I go into the house and when leaving the car unattended away from home, I make sure I disable Kessy before I walk away from the car.

Virtual cockpit?
I have analogue and I'm happy with it, but if you like to constantly change things, then a digital might suit you. Personally I feel that the more there is to fiddle with, the more distracted you get from the primary thing you should be concentrating on i.e. driving. Having said that we recently set out to change my wifes car, with her stating that she wanted a manual gearbox and none of those infernal electrickery gadgets I have in my Kodiaq. We came home with a MK8 VW Golf with DSG, digital dash and a bloody great computer next to it that runs everything and she's loving it !! A little confusing at first after coming from a 10 year old Suzuki Swift, but the more she uses it, the more she likes it. My point being, even if you think you don't need or want a virtual dash, you'll probably end up liking it. My hope is that they're reliable and last a decently long time.

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
The topic was simple, it's the solution that's hard. What are you thinking of doing now ?
-
Keyless Entry Security
Yes I was aware of this facility and I do use it on my Kodiaq. Trouble is, it appears not to work every time I use it, so I keep my fob in a Faraday bag to be on the safe side.

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
Having said what I did above, I see that Thule have 3 rear mounted racks they they say can be fitted to the Kodiaq, so if I was the OP I'd take this up with Roofbox and ask why they don't supply them. The car listed on the Thule site is a 5 seater, so maybe the carrier isn't recommended for the 7 seater due to the extra weight of the rearmost seats. I've found them very friendly and helpful on the phone.

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
Whilst I've no doubt that some will say they've fitted rear mounted bike carriers with no issues, in the same way that there's people who'll say they've pulled an 1800kg caravan with a Ford Fiesta, that doesn't make it right or safe. In my experience with Roofbox.co.uk they will not knowingly sell anything that's deemed unsafe or contravenes the parameters set out by the manufacturer, so I would certainly believe what they say on their website.

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
Yes you're right, I'd forgotten I'd read that quite recently. Your options are reducing: Change one bike for a fold up one and put it in the boot, leave a person at home, fit a tow bar and get a trailer, swap the Kodiaq for a van, or find another hobby - rollerbooting ?

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
Correct

Bike rack(s) for 5 bikes for Skoda Kodiaq
I would prefer to have 4 bikes on the roof for more even weight distribution, but it will depend on what weight the bikes are. The roof has a weight limit and so will the roof bars you'll have to buy to carry the bikes. There's always a chance that two roof bars, 4 bike carriers and four bikes could exceed that limit, depending mainly on bike weights. You don't state where you're based, but I'm assuming abroad so the following link might not be helpful, but at least it will let you see what's available for carrying bikes. https://www.roofbox.co.uk/bike-carriers/

Travel assist steering wheel sensor faulty
Has your friend not had a software update yet ? My wife picked up a 10 month old MK 8 Golf last week and that had already had 3 software updates last year. Bit early for her to know if everything is working as it should be.
