  1. Hi think you could be absolutely right I've just been on the Skoda update portal and seen the same only 15gb download when its normally about 26gb, why would they put the download there if it doesn't work. now thinking of getting a TOM TOM.
  2. I have been trying to get the 2025 map update for my Skoda, from the Skoda update portal. Have managed to download the zipped file but when extracting it to an SD Card it only reaches 10% then get error and unable to complete wondering if anyone else is have the same problems, for the Columbus infotainment system.
  3. Many thanks, it's just that I have read so much about these memory savers I did want to give myself any problems, never had to use them on my previous cars. thanks again I won't use one and will just register the new battery once I've changed it.
  4. Many thanks for that very well explained.
  5. Thanks all that's a great help, gone are the days when you could just disconnect it and replace.. now coding battery to car needs to be done. won't bother with the memory saver now.. Thanks all
  6. I have moved it to the Superb mk3 section.. Thanks
  7. Looking at changing my battery and realize that i need to use a memory saver is it ok to plug into the OBD port and put 12v to it ? or would it be safer to connect to the positive & Negative cables under the bonnet ? If anyone has done this any advise would be appreciated. I do know a new battery has to be coded to the car and can do this with my Vaws 3.0 reader.
  8. Thanks if this could be moved posted in the wrong section.
  9. It supplies current to the car while you disconnect the battery saves you loosing settings in the cars computer such as radio settings.. you can view them on Amazon. Just not sure if its safe to supply 12volts into the OBD Port

  11. That's good advice thanks, think a lot on here have been getting confused with the EPB and the piston, I have the superb MK3 L&K 2018 and i was unsure if the piston on the rear brakes were to be pushed or screwed in because looking at the piston face with the two cut out bits i was thinking screwed in, but you have made it clear to be pushed in. Thanks for the advice.
  12. Thats handy to know nicknorman , Plan on doing my back pads and recently got the Vaws 3.0 to release the parking brake anyone else use the Vaws 3.0

  14. Still no Skoda map update for 2024 on the Skoda web portal, the one they did have has been taken off.
  15. downloaded on PC- windows 11 ... and had done a full format of SD Card, all unpacked to the card but once putting in the car it only done the update to 82%. then got error message and reverted back to to 23/24 map
  16. oh well, Downloaded the update ok, and un-packed it to a 64gb sd Card.. Then put it into the car to update found the card ok and got to 82% then failed with an error 🙁 I've never had any problems like this before.
  17. Hope Skoda get this new map update sorted otherwise its not worth the time and effort downloading something that don't work.
  18. I'm having exactly the same problems getting error messages when un -zipping. I never had any problems before.
  19. Just a quick update I have managed to change my front Disc's and pads with no issues, thanks for all the advice you all gave me. Would be nice to change back pads but it will probably be issues releasing the electric brake.
  20. Thanks for the advice everyone I'm going to attempt to change the front pads and discs next week and will let you know how it goes. I now have the push back tool and thinking of getting Pagid Brake Discs and Pads. Do you recommend any different? Don't think I would be brave enough to change the back pads due to the electric hand brake.
  21. Thanks again everyone don't think I'll have any problems now, good advice from you all.
  22. Thanks for the advice great help.
  23. Hi, I am thinking of changing my front pads on my superb MK3, could anyone tell me if I need a tool that screws and pushes the pistons back in, or do they just push back. Thanks for any advice.
