  1. Agree with peeps who suggest pulling the lever to activate S mode. That works well when you want instant poke.
  2. I removed the intake airbox grate today. Does it make a difference? Hell yes, my car is couple o grams lighter now...
  3. Does your C5 have a dpf? 5miles daily is a bit short and I'd be wary of clogging up the dpf. Maybe a petrol version can be considered since mileage wise, you don't seem to do a lot so running costs difference won't be significant.
  4. Actually this is it. That's where my stalk stays. To activate I push it up then back down.
  5. Wipers should be auto. Any setting away from off is default auto. Only thing I find is the system poll (detection) interval is long so if windscreen is wet when you start the car, it doesn't wipe until sometime after. I normally have to push the stalk for it to start activating then it behaves automatically. Different from my previous car which just works. Never had to touch anything.
  6. All 280s have MPI and flaps. Some 272s have flaps. Mine even have mud flaps!
  7. If you do low mileage, might be worthwhile looking at petrol versions too.
  8. Replaced cabin filter, I think this is the first time it has been replaced in its 20k mile life. Manky... Replaced air filter, cleaned up some foreign objects blocking the turning vanes in the intake. Probably gained 5hp now... Lol

Yes it will get cut eventually. But in the short term say 3 years where most business leases are, they will sell. Longer term 5-10years even without gov. incentives, car makers will have to sell majority of their vehicles as PHEVs and BEVs simply to balance their co2 forcing consumers between them. In a decade, I'd think BEVs will be the norm for new cars, at least where there are regulations forcing the sales of them.

PHEVs have their purpose. 1: manufacturers are incentivised to sell them as it lowers average co2 massively. 2: current government tax incentives are decent 3: it suits people who can use the electric range daily but don't want to faff about on their longer ones 4: there might be people who have chargers at work but live in a place with no home charging so can still make use of #2 and #3.

I think you'll find that the CCS fast charge network in Europe is pretty good right now and will beat Tesla (if not already, it will be). If you wait a year or so, there will be a huge choice of BEVs to choose from.
  12. The fabric sportline Seats are brilliant. Wouldn't worry about bobbling as they are designed to be in contact as a seat! However be aware that the headrest means you can't get a tablet holder round the front seats easily if that is something you'd like for the kids, dog etc..

But you won't get Tesla quality which is very low, dodgy as hell. I reckon if VAG is required to meet it's co2 target by selling more BEVs/PHEVs there will be deals on the Enyaq. Maybe even pre-reg ones. Overall I like that VAG is keeping the ethos of making the Skoda model as the spacious one. If everything works out as expected, VAG might be up there with total units of BEVs sold in within a year or so.
  14. Seen that ad. Iirc it has Canton too. Check who are the owners , first could be Skoda registered. See if Honda dealer tells you why it was traded in. Maybe the guy wanted a type r? Also like above, check if stolen etc.

Not sure why anyone is debating if BEVs are for them and especially if not. EU mandates mean mild hybrids, phevs and BEVs will be the only choices outside of performance oriented cars. BEVs suit a certain type of buyers that can take advantage of the tax breaks and charging routine that works for them. I am a fan of BEVs (I'll take a free taycan) and it's annoying to see EVangelists go on about how and how BEVs are better but it's also annoying to see the opposite giving all the reasons they won't buy a BEV. End of the day, get something that suits you. Make no mistake, VAG will sell significant amounts of BEVs this year and year on year after that. Edit: I wanted to say I am a fan of BEVs but they are too expensive (for the range/spec) to me as I like to buy used. Maybe in 5 years or so there will be a good amount around and I might be driving one.
  16. Mine has been 'disconnected' by my 3.5yo son, the rear air vents. He did one first and I told him off. He said he won't do it again but hey ho just checked and the other is gone too lol. Can't be arsed to fix and I imagine it could be a common problem.
