  1. M340i would have many of the features I look for, specially the engine. I wasted some time setting up an M340i on bmw website and I got up to 85k €. I fold. Totally agree. Modifying a car is a waste of money for the most, but for me it's turning money into pleasure of driving. For sure I don't expect to get any of this costs back. I'm also interested in the halex controller...
  2. so you're coming to my conclusion too, albeit for slightly different reasons. I would change for an Alpina B5 and you for an RS4, everything else would be accepting a compromise. I think we should look on the bright side and be happy to have a good car to drive...and we can even improve it
  3. I will look forward to your impressions!
  4. I think that this Superb is a beautiful car with a great and underestimated engine, that has really nothing to envy to A6 or 5 series or E class. But for a petrolhead like me what it really lacks compared to those beautiful and expensive cars is a 6cyl engine. I'll be honest, if I could afford it I would go for an AMG E class, Alpina B5 or the new 550i. But 100k+ for a car is something I can't spend, and here in Italy I would have to pay about 4.000 €/yr as extra tax just for car's hp. So if I would think about 1) stick with it and maybe improve it or 2) switch to something sportier, personally i would stick with it. Otherwise i'd have to compromise if switching to something else. My best compromise could be low mileage 540i G30, that is not exactly sportier than a Superb. I could get a good sound with the right exhaust. Performance with a stage2 setup would be worst than my stage3 Superb. Stage3 for a 6 cyl BMW would cost too much so it would be out of the list. G20 340i could be a good choice too, but I would miss my roomy Superb. Switching to an other 2.0 tsi would be not a great improvement, of course IMHO. The only advice i'll give to you is that if you can afford a M340i, C43amg or an RS4: go for it!! Of course a Golf8 R would be a great improvement too for a track day, but it depends on what you're searching for.
  5. Hey @newbie69, I'd just like to point out that the guy who made the video did most of the work with one hand while filming with the other. Seriously, however, I admire your courage to throw yourself into feats like this. If you succeed, the result will be even more rewarding!
  6. 20 hp out of 360 makes very little difference... those 20 hp you would have them only at high revs. The big difference is the 463 Nm of torque, as you have already noticed with the sport mode in third gear and foot down. in any case I suggest you to use petrol with at least 98 octane, if it is not available near you you can always add an additive. you will surely have better performance.
  7. I'd love to have both the time and the ability to understand what you wrote to activate the sport menu, anyway thanks for sharing!
  8. As @KeteCantek said there are differences between 220 and 280 versions. But the real gamechanger is 4x4, Superb is too long and heavy for 220+ hp on FWD, so there is no question: get a 280!
  9. right now I could buy a kw dcc kit for € 2,300 (or maybe something less), or a B6 damp + eibach pro kit for around € 1,480. it means about 35% difference. Not bad! This ones should fit:
  10. Thank you, this ends up in the mod list right next to the KW DCC. The price certainly plays in favor of Bilstein, for now. Maybe KWs prices will drop before next "modding season"!
  11. I don't know if this can help you, but it sounds the same as my 140hp Octavia2 after stage1 remap. Before stage1 it was even hard to hear the turbo whistle.
  12. Hey, what about brakes!? @skodamax if you want more sound I would give you the same advice too, go for a resonator delete, for now. Apart from the sound you want, I think that a stage 1 map is the best value for money you go for, like @newbie69 told in his power mod list. Beyond stage 1 you will spend more and more but power gains will be far lower than what you get with a stage1 map.
  13. I am much more disappointed with the lack of the MPI rather than the exhaust valve. But I don't think you have that either @boydeee @Nick_H ...or am I wrong!?!? 🧐
  14. It should be on the list...but for the front! Every MQB chassis bbk will (should) fit on Superb, so there are several kits to choose from. But these are only for the front. Vagbremtechnic has a rear bbk, but it's made for oem calipers (like this one). Not all MY19 have flaps, my MY19 has not, built 02/19. Only the early 272s have flaps, the ones built till 10-11/18.
  15. big brake kit, till now i've only seen kits for replacing discs whit bigger ones but made for oem calipers. this one seem to be a 4 pot caliper..
  16. this is exactly what i meant with loud/louder but thinking about a catless downpipe. And the one in the video is even catted! And I'm not for all these crackles and dsg farts... But hey cool that there are other Skoda Superb petrolheads around the world! (And cool rear bbk in the video thumbnail)
  17. The nice thing about this exhaust is that the tailpipes looks like OEM ones. Very cool! But, with a catless downpipe and no center resonator I think that exhaust flaps will only allow you to choose between the loud mode or the louder mode... Why DSG cooler? I think that your DQ381 will support easily a stage 2 setup like this with a simple remap. But let me know if there is some other reason, if so it could interest me...
  18. i can have waze running on the columbus (or google maps) and see the inbuilt maps in the vc. BUT if I add a destination on waze or whatever i'm running on columbus, i'll no longer see maps in the vc.
  19. good choice! having changed the intercooler as well, I guess you have other plans for the future, right? With this setup you just need a sport dp and you should get about 400hp...
  20. this is a very big gain. did you also change any hardware? Is your 272 a MY19 or MY20?
  21. Wise choice ventilated seats. I also use them in winter!
  22. Good job @Bigeater, you will need it for when you go further with your project. Do you have any pics of the new resonator installed? The sound will change even more once you'll fit a new downpipe...
  23. Something that is beyond my abilities...! Thank you
