Tyre change options… ?
With Burton on Trent probably the worst roads for potholes in the country I put 4 Michelin Primacy 225/55R17 on 7J Tiguan alloys and put them on my Karoq sportline beginning of February and they are very quiet and very comfortable

Wheel spacers
It was a steep learning curve for me and certainly done my head in as well 😀

Wheel spacers
Thats a good point Carliston. Done some more research and although one said vaguely it could affect wheel bearings it was more to do with wheels coming outward and rubbing on wheel arches or inward and rubbing brakes or suspension. Think what i will do now is put new tyres on the Audi rims and see how they go. If there is no adverse effects i am quids in by not having to buy another set of rims needlessly 👍

Wheel spacers
I read that you can go over or under offset by 3 or 4 so if the Audi rims i put on had an offset of 33mm and they should be 45mm thats 12 mm difference
-
Wheel spacers
Yes, the 12mm difference in the ET number is 3 times over the max for the Karoq, shame as they looked good and easily handled the terrible pot holes that i have in my town. Just have to get another set and make sure i get it right next time ☺️ Would i be right in thinking there are only the 18,s or 19,s as standard wheel options for my model Karoq ?, Thanks for the help.

Wheel spacers
It might just be me being thick but i am amazed at how complicated things have gotten. Back in the day it was only a choice between cross ply or radial 😀 , even then it was an easy choice depending on how much you had in your wallet 😀

Wheel spacers
Are the flanges all different as well ?

Wheel spacers
Yes they were from the Q3 so the bloke said. I cant get the OEM numbers now as its too dark but i can try looking tomorrow if you want ?

Wheel spacers
"For example, the rims might be 6.5Jx17 ET33"... I dont know what they measure "J" wise. The17,s along with the tyres they came with ( winter Pirelli scorpions 215/60/17 ) were put on my car a couple of weeks ago. The tyres make a noise like the hum of an electric generator, but i put this down to the winter tyres with only 3 or 4 mm of tread. It was only a couple of days ago researching for a set of new tyres that i came across the ET numbers and looked into it further. The 17,s ET33 seems quite a big gap from the original ET45 but thats the limit of my knowledge " I think you will find that your 19" rims are 8Jx19 ET45 if they are original Skoda Karoq rims." ............ yes they were

Wheel spacers
I have mucked up a bit and need a bit of advice. I wanted to get rid of my R19 wheels for a smaller size so when I was offered some R17 Audi alloys really cheap i checked the bore size and studs were the same and bought them. I sold my original "R19,s with the intention of putting the extra money towards 4 new tyres for the 17"rims, but here is the thing, The number for my originals is ET47, the Audi ET is 33 so is it best to buy some spacers or cut my losses and get some more alloys ? Never knew about offset or ET numbers until now

Headlight condinsation - anyone else getting it?
So, if LED bulbs hardly create any heat why do manufactures feel the need to add ventilation holes in a headlight as surely this is causing the condensation problem .

My SDI is unstable at any rpm
It worked for me, and also a friend of mine who spent £1000 on replacing sensors and all sorts on a V W T5 only to find out it was a clogged EGR valve. If it dont cure your problem it will still need cleaning out eventually anyway
-
My SDI is unstable at any rpm
When my Roomster started running rough i disconnected the rubber hose and with a torch and a mirror i could see it was all full of tar. Took it off, cleaned it out and everything was fine after that. Might be worth waiting for someone with a bit more knowledge to come along and give you a second opinion

Have you ever cleaned the EGR valve out?

paddle shift
Slightly off topic but how do you select reverse on the paddles ?

- Dampness in the Passenger Footwell
I had a Seat Ateca that was always misting up on the passenger front window, i cant remember now if i felt the carpet to see if it was wet or not but i did have a look at my pollen filter and it was wet through so i assume water was getting in through the bulkhead air intake somehow . Isn't this dampness / misting up thin a common problem across the whole of the V W motor group ?- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
Found a very comprehensive Rim & Tyre size calculator https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
Bugga, just when i had made my mind up i,me back to square One again 😀.- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
I have 225/45/R19 on at the moment and if i put the 215/65/R17 on it calculates to : Reading at 30mph will be 28.89 and at 60 will be 57.79mph which is not too bad. Better a bit under than over i think- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
A big thank you to everyone thats taken the time to post. I find it very humbling how you have all just chipped in to help me out with all your knowledge and good advice 👍- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
I have limited tyre/wheel knowledge but with them rims and the 215/65/r17 Kodiaq tyres it seems the sensible way to go to me, unless anyone knows different .- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
Reading into your post Fux about comfort over aesthetics, the 18,s must tick all your boxes or you would stay on the 17s,- Sportline. Has anyone swapped their 19" wheels to 18"s or 17"s
I am having a bit of a job getting hold of a set of secondhand 17 rims. I have even looked for steel rims on mytyres but they only do 16,s which i think would probably look too small. Buying new is a bit out of my price ££££ range what with the cost of 4 tyres as well - Dampness in the Passenger Footwell
