  1. Hi all, I have sold the car and still have left a full set of rubber mats, these a genuine from Skoda. The mats were used but in a very good condition. Price is £55 plus whatever delivery cost. I am based near Glasgow if you are interested in these. Thanks for looking. Photos:
  2. I own a Karoq now for last 2 years, Edition model, 1.5 DSG. Some of the answers to your questions: I'm keen to get an automatic but have read some issues about DSG? It seems there are some issues for DSG in 1.5 TSI engines? Is that correct? Any (model) years to avoid? This is the biggest thing hate about DSG, from beginning (I bought it with 5.5k miles on the clock) it was cangarooing, I took it to dealer couple of times and they said its fine, I remapped it and it still does it. Sometime over speed bumps it got stacked in 1st gear and needs to be revved up to 3000rpm to go to 2nd. Hate the thing. Saying this - my wife never noticed or never mentioned any of these issues to me, so may be it is just me. Do 1.5 TSI DSG engines have an issue starting from cold (kangarooing)? Or is that just manual? DSG does it mostly and more evident when it is cold. Is Economy (ECO) mode available in SE model? Does ECO mode save much fuel? Again, I've read of a few ECO issues, are these correct or does ECO mode run fine in Karoq? No idea When I test drove Karoq I did notice it was firmer/bumpier compared to my Fabia that might be due to larger 18" wheels? If I bought an SEL model could the wheels be swapped to 17" (or smaller)? Does it actually make much difference to the drive? I am sure it will make the difference, even with 17" wheels. I put on it all season tyres, Pirelli, and they are much quieter and comfier than Bridgestone the car came with. Can 'Lane Assist' and engine auto 'Stop/Start' be turned off permanently (or do they reset each time)? Yes, but stop/start needs to be deactivated every time you start the car, not sure about "lane control/assist" which tbh I like and never switched it off. Can both models (SE/SEL) run normal unleaded petrol (not just premium)? I think I read this somewhere but must be mistaken? I think it can, ECU should adjust automatically. I did use very often E10 fuel and not had an issue in a last 30k miles. My plan is to use the official Skoda 'Used Cars' website as it offers a good selection. Is this considered expensive compared to other options? Possibly, but you will have a piece of mind as it will come with 2 years Skoda used warranty, which is not that great anyway What is the better factor to hunt for when buying a used Skoda (age vs mileage)? Like any car, depends on spec/service history Finally, is it worth trying to buy as many warranty years as possible? Or does it cost more than its worth? I didn't extend my warranty, may be other aftermarket warranties are better, need to read small print. My friend had issues with PDC and rear window heater and Skoda said it is not covered by wararanty. Very important - check air con IS working, I had to go back to dealer 6 times to fix it and I think it is still not fixed but not too cold outside to really try it. Another point, check for dampness in the passenger foot well, VW cars are famous for leaks, especially if car comes with sun-roof, also, I noticed the car is louder with sun roof compared to one without. Some owners had leak problems badly installed windscreens from factory, blocked drainage, I had a leak through rear door speaker - at least that what Skoda told me. Engines are not very economical, apart from 1.0ltr petrol, on mine I did 38.9mpg over 2 years and I mostly drive on A/B roads. However, down to London I easily achieved 45mpg, but I was trying hard to get that number. Don't go for 4x4, fuel consumption plummets even further, especially with 1.5 petrol, just get good all-season tyres if you need to. I hope it helps. Vlad
  3. I agree with you - depends who you are dealing with. I prefer to deal with Andy, he's been great so far. Other Service guy (he is new) was not so great. Everything I call them I ask to talk to Andy.
  4. I have similar issue with my Karoq, well, almost. I have no cold air coming out while using air con. Issue started last summer, by the time Skoda Glasgow looked at it, it was October and air-con service was done which I had to pay for about £90. This year when we had couple of warm days I started air con and again - no cold air! Back to Skoda Glasgow and they found a leak and 2 seals at each side of condenser needs to be changed at a cost of £300! Luckily, Skoda managed to get through warranty and I should not pay for it. I have a 2 year Additional warranty from Skoda when I bought the car from the dealer last June, so I am almost out of warranty. I hope it will fix the issue!
  5. Welcome to the forum another Karoq owner. Is it the manual you have or a DSG?
  6. Hi Fred, I used to own an e60 myself, before I moved to Lexus GS for almost 4 years and Skoda Karoq a couple years back. Superb 280 must be good, defo spacious and comfortable, not sure about sporty. Good luck and I hope you will like it, do keep us updated.
  7. Hey there! Welcome to forum Fred! Tell us more, why Skoda, why Superb, what you had before? I am not sure about all others but I am always curious what made people choose what they choose. Good luck with reading all (most) the threads on the forum! Vlad
  8. Let us k ow how it goes with Kodiaq, as you said it should be an interesting swap. I was really thinking about Superb but found it to be a loud car, it felt like a window was left slightly open on motorway and the car was 2024! Friend of mine moved from Superb to Kodiaq and said that Kodiaq is much quieter!
  9. I can't see that the engine goes into 2 cylinder mode while going over speed bumps, but, if it was, would it cause potentially problems with gearbox changing from 1st to 2nd? I am pretty sure I tried S mode before, and it does the same thing - holds on to 1st gear and revs high.
  10. Thanks for suggestions @MarkyG82 - No, my heel is attached to the floor and accelerator is not used, as the speed I am going over these bumps are very very slow which makes sense for gearbox to go into 1st gear, half way through the speed bump I slightly and gently apply the accelerator and the gearbox does not change to 2nd until engine revs to 2800-3200rpm. I will try to make a video of the car going over these massive speed bumps.
  11. I was watching Tyre Reviews on YouTube and the guy mentioned that Pirellis (all season) are the most comfortable out of the bunch he was testing and quietest. I checked later noise rating on a label, before I ordered them, read a few more reviews and just bought them. They are much more comfortable and quieter then original Bridgestone!
  12. Can it come up under private number plate - V15DMR? @Rooted many thanks for your help and time, really appreciate it.
  13. The engine and gearbox were remapped about a year ago. The main reason I went for a remap is to sort out a gearbox but is still didn't. The car is good but at the moment I can't say it is a keeper until I sort out the gearbox, if I can't I will trade the car in. It does annoy me big time. I am already looking for a new car, therefore the thread about iV and 2.0 petrol, but after test drive of iV I realised my Karoq is still a decent car.
  14. I don't know , number plates are SJ69MKN, it is end of September or early October registered. I asked dealership which is Skoda in Glasgow about issues with my gearbox and if all recalls were done, they said gearbox is fine and no recalls are needed to be sorted, I don't know uf they were sorted prior I bought the car or the car just didn't need it.
