I'll consider changing to a VRS when/if they decide to offer a diesel engine. My dad has a Octavia VRS and we test drove a petrol and diesel and found the diesel much more fun. I understand the tsi vrs was designed to offer diesel torque but i cant help but think they've dropped a clanger but not at least offering a diesel.

Fabia 1.6 CR TDI 90bhp appalling fuel consumption
benwiddowson replied to MikeHart's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
have you tried using a different brand of diesel, if say you've been filling up at morrisons, switch to shell or something for a few months to see if that helps. -
where will retro fit them ?

Winter is here how do you defrost ?
benwiddowson replied to benwiddowson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
only time of year i wish i was driving a ford with quickclear -
ive found hids-direct good in the past so hopefully they will be with me early next week and i can pop them in. I may still go down the hids route in the end as it was annoying they weren't an option on the fabia this time round. Hopefully those these mtechs will be good enough as there obviously far cheaper than a conversion.

TSI vRS likes Tesco Momentum99 fuel
benwiddowson replied to Terry Collins's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Im a fabia tsi driver and ive been using Tesco 99 for the last few months. Its great stuff improved the performance a little from this 1.2 but the biggest difference seems to be the mpg. -
Hi, Just thought id start a topic to find out what methods you guys use to defrost the car if you dont have access to a garage. I normally try and cover it but occasionally i cant. The climate control front heater seems to take ages.

I do keep toying with some xenons, need to decide soon which bulbs and get them ordered. I have played with Power2Nights and BlueVisions before on my twingo and they did show some improvment
-
i have just put them back in to have another play

can you take some snaps of the inside?

Hi FB, I found them great in the evening but during the day they look like there not on !

I believe Fatbloke (please correct me if im wrong) started a thread a while back about DRLS and LED's. We changed ours (i followed his advice) to a whiter bulb (ive since changed back). LED's apparently dont work in the drls on the fabia.

Hi as winter approaches as i do a fair bit of driving across country roads i want to upgrade the bulbs in the tsi to give me more light. I'm sure there are hundreds of threads about this but as the technology of bulbs moves on i wondered what bulbs are you guys using/planning to use? What size/type of bulb is it in the elegance tsi? The manual is about as clear as mud.

you'll love the tsi. Had mine since may and love every second in it. I see Seat are now offering the VAT free offer.

foggy drl and foglight
benwiddowson replied to benwiddowson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Yeh one more thing im tempted to try is i can see a bit of water in there so im going to try taking the light off and drying it with some tissue over the weekend. Failing that then i'll take your advice and go back to the dealers. I had a c2 vts that developed a similar fault a few years back, the light got so bad it ended up going green with algae growing inside it. -
Trying to choose a new car - this is my favourite
benwiddowson replied to pankergan's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I have the tsi85 and recently moved from the skoda fabia vrs (1.9tdi) and the performance isnt a million miles away. If you dont do a lot of miles id seriously save the money and go for the tsi 85 or 105. -
Hi guys im hoping someone can help me. My drivers side DRL and fog light seem to be misted up at the moment and even when the light has been on for a fair while its steamed up. Obviously this is happening more now the mornings/evening are colder. Can anyone suggest a way of clearing it short of taking it back to the dealer? Im guessing there is water in it somewhere? Thanks Ben

1.2 3 Cyl 70ps v 1.2 TSI 85
benwiddowson replied to Reinfield's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
i dont see why the turbo wouldnt be ok as long as its not ragged when its cold and the last few miles are taken steady if its been worked hard. -

Yeh the tsi is 9e and the 1.2 is 5e. Both are VED D. -
1.2 3 Cyl 70ps v 1.2 TSI 85
benwiddowson replied to Reinfield's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
i cant speak for the 3cyl but i had one of the first 85 tsi's to be delivered and love it. I came from a fabia vrs and the tsi still has more than enough poke to make me smile.Mpg is fine and the tax is fairly low. Go drive them both would be my advice.
