  1. Autoebid is a reverse auction web-site. They list their minimum prices on both a pre-reg and 1st registration basis. You can opt for the lowest price or bid an even lower price. Various dealers and brokers then compete for the sale. You can also stipulate your time limit for bids to be made and they all tend to come in, I suppose not surprisingly, in the last couple of days. If the minimum price previously quoted or the price you have requested is not matched then you do not have to accept the bid and you pay nothing. However, if there is a saving of more than
  2. I've been following these boards with great interest. Back in April I placed an order for a 2.0 FSI Elegance through autoebid. Because I wanted to add ESP, Lights assistant, curtain air bags and multifunction steering wheel (with maxidot) it was a factory order. Well a Skoda main dealer came in at the lowest price and a fantastic one it was too. I've been told today that the car will arrive at the dealership Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I'm going on holiday on Thursday so can't collect the car until I return. Still it will extend my holiday as the dealer is some distance from my home in Essex. So after a week in the sun I can look forward to a nice long drive an overnight stay and a nice long drive back to familiarise my self with my new car!! Here's hoping everything is OK with it!

My vote goes to Acer. We have two at home and they have both been good machines. Just watch the spec when ordering. I got both ours from Technoworld through the web.
  4. Hi There I've just ordered an Octavia for the first time. I'm going for a 2.0 litre FSI model. It's going to be a factory order as I want some extra goodies put on. I've got a really good price by using a reverse auction web-site. The only snag is the deal is from a Skoda dealer in Cornwall and I live in Essex! Oh well it will be a nice short trip away and an opportunity to start getting the car run in on the way back. At this stage I haven't been given any idea of timescale. Does anybody out there know how long factory orders are taking? The only other thing I am going to have to do is to find the best way to sell my existing VW Passat Highline.
  5. Hi there. My existing car is a VW Passat and is coming up to 3 years old so I am looking to change. The new Passat is too big for my garage space and is a lot of money. Looking around what is available, having considered a Jetta, the Octavia matched all my requirements. Unfortunately I have had a bad experience with my nearest Dealer who couldn't get the arrangements for an extended test drive sorted out properly. Do I look for another dealer or do go for the Mazda 6?
