Scout Mk3: what should I look out for when buying
I changed the other sensor and it's worked. All fine now! No issues. I'd say if anyone encounters the same problem this is definitely worth a try and it only takes about 30 - 40 minutes and costs less then £30

VRS Tdi Oil Capacity
Am about to do my first oil change. (Normally done at a mate's garage). I have a 2015 Octavia Scout TDi Mk III Type 5E (2lt - 110kw - 148ph). I had noted down that it required 4.5 litres. However I see 4.6 Lt is mentioned in the thread above. Just wondered if anyone had a definitive answer as to the correct amount of engine oil required. (I use Quantum Long Life 3/ HU720z Mann filter). Many thanks

Scout Mk3: what should I look out for when buying
Thanks for this, just on the off-chance, have you ever encountered an ABS Wheel Sensor issue? I have had a problem illustrated in this youtube video. I followed the same course of action as they guy who made the video but so far the problem has not been resolved. I'm due to take it to a mechanic later on in the week though so perhaps I'll find out that it's a more serious problem than just the sensor.

Scout Mk3: what should I look out for when buying
Good tip. Just found a couple in my area. Going to call them about an ABS wheel sensor (how to test with a multimeter) and gauge how good they are by their response! Thanks again - appreciated.

Scout Mk3: what should I look out for when buying
thank you for this - yes. I wish now that I had insisted they flushed the entire system properly rather than accepting what they told me and paying them for a job half done/badly done. I'm on the look out for a mechanic who's prepared to do the job - as well as take the money for doing it!

Scout Mk3: what should I look out for when buying
I have a Octavia Scout MkIII 2015 and what Paulski mentions happened with my Skoda. The mechanics tried to flush out the system and replace the coolant but informed me they could do so completely and it was still a bit gritty. They assured me the heating would work which it did. However the heater fan is now about 40% less powerful (not sure why) and the heating is not nearly as high as it used to be. Sometimes I can hear strange whooshing draining noised when I stop the car.... something is still not quite right even though I spent ££££ !!

Collant System - Skoda Octavia Scout
Quite a while back the heating in my Skoda Scout 2015 started to play up. First one side could only blow out slightly warm, then it could only blow cold. After a while the other side did the same. My garage seemed to have a lot of trouble draining/ flushing the system and said the coolant had "sort of gritty" stuff in it. The problem continued and the garage then replaced the heater matrix which they thought might be clogged. The pump(s) seemed to be working okay as did the thermostat. Although the heating worked after this, it wasn't great and the blower seemed to lack the power it had prior to going in to the garage. Over the last six months or more, on a few occasions, I've heard through the dash a strange noise. Having been driving the car and turned the engine off, a gushing sound/ liquid draining sound which goes on for quite a while. I wondered if anyone had any suggestions - surely this must be an airlock? Note the garage told me they couldn't completely flush the system but weren't clear why. Costs had mounted already so I hoped the problem had been solved. Last week the alert appeared on the dash, I added some coolant and it was fine. Now wondering if I don't take it to a specialist or Skoda garage to get the wholes system properly flushed through & a new blower motor installed too.

Final Manufacture Date - Skoda Octavia Scout?
I've just spent 25 minutes on the phone to Skoda UK trying to find out the last manufacture date of the Skoda Octavia Scout. They couldn't tell me but eventually created a "query" to be sent to the Skoda Brand Support team so they could, in turn, contact (in Germany) the Product Team. Apparently I will get an email in 48 hours. You'd think this basic information would be available to the Customer Support team - but it seems not! I'm interested to know if anyone has this information i.e. the date that the last Skoda Octavia Scout was rolled off the line for the UK market.....

Octavia Scout 2015 Oil and Filter change
Thank you again, that's great. Yep I have MARK III - 110 KW. Type: 5E ACCRMBX1 varient. You couldn't recommend an air filter could you? I'm sure probably all pretty standard. Also...., I spent over a grand £ last year trying to get my heating sorted out with my local garage. They got it working but doesn't heat up nearly as quickly or get as hot as it did before the problem. It also came back from the garage very weak! I.e. you have to turn it right up for it to blow properly. Have you heard that this might be a fault with the Octy?

Skoda Octavia low coolant warning and large repair bill
thanks - I thought I'd read the entire thread so just went back but can't find the link you mention. Sorry I still find the site tricky to navigate! (As I read the posts again the coolant warning light coming on was mentioned a few times. I've just realised that this is the case with my Skoda. It came on about 7 months ago. Topped it up, all seemed fine. Then it came on about a month ago. Topped it up, 2 weeks later heating isn't working.... I guess what I want to try and do is rule out something more simple like a fuze or air lock. Just before the heating went I plugged in a trailer electrics - that a bulb blew and the heating stopped working. Is that a co-incidence?

Skoda Octavia low coolant warning and large repair bill
How did you get on with this in the end....? I've got a 2015 Mk 3 Skoda Octavia Scout. The heating seemed to stop working about a fortnight ago but intermittently has blown out warmish air. I'm trying to work out the best process so I don't get stung with a huge bill for replacing the matrix. Any idea where I should start? I could start by checking for air locks but am not sure if it's a self bleeding system. Next I could flush the coolant and replace maybe? I could also replace the reservoir (which might have the silica bag in it.... finally I guess I have to take it to a garage and undoubtly part with serious cash to get the heater matrix replaced!

Saints92 - did you ever solve your problem with the heating? I seem to have the same problem with my Octavia Scout. I used a trailer last week, plugged in the electrics, (I think but can't be absolutely sure) the heating stopped working properly after this. Could a fuze be a problem?- Fuzes
I have a Skoda Octavia 3 Scout 2Lt (2015). The other day I hooked up to a trailer and plugged in the electrics. I noticed the day after than a front bulb had blow and the heating wasn't working. Could this be related or is it a complete co-incidents? If it is blown fuzes is there a fuze panel anywhere? Could the heating be a fuze? It's not cold, its just very luke warm. Any advice gratefully received.- Can someone recommend front shocks for a 2015 Skoda Octavia Scout Mk III Type 5E
great - thanks again for help- Can someone recommend front shocks for a 2015 Skoda Octavia Scout Mk III Type 5E

thank you - I don't need to upgrade, a mechanic mate is going to replace them for me and I want make sure I replace with a decent brand. The turning to my house is sharp and extremely steep and it goes up and down about 6 times every day!- Can someone recommend front shocks for a 2015 Skoda Octavia Scout Mk III Type 5E
I'm about to replace the front shocks on my Octavia Scout, can someone recommend a brand to use and what to avoid. Any useful information would be very gratefully received.- Brake Pads
Funnily enough - that's exactly what the guy who installed my towbar has suggested and has even offered to come down to do for no charge. Just in case anyone needs a towbar, this guy Mark and his son are really decent guys who do a fantastic job and then go out of their way to follow up & make sure you're happy. He's called Towbar Man (South) and is based in Alton. Thanks again. - Blowing Luke warm air
