  1. I have just bought a Mesto Foamer 1.5 liters pressure sprayer. It's a good alternative if you don't have a pressure washer with a foam gun/cannon/lance, but of course it is not as good at all - and it is not meant to be either.

I like it. For a product of this size it's not bad.

I have made a short presentation and review of the Mesto Foamer on Youtube (HD):

    .

One advice - don't fill it as much with water as I did because there is not enough room for compressed air, even though I only filled it to the Max-mark. You can see it's spraying a lot better at the end of the video.

I am using about 75 ml. Poorboy's World Slick and Suds for about 1.5 liters of water, but I am sure, I havn't found the best soap/water mix yet.

Check it out if you like :) .

  2. If this helps anyone, I have just cured a persistent rattle/sizzle from the passengers door.

It was the window switch housing slightly loose.

My cure was to put a piece of black insulating tape at the front lip of the switch housing.

Not a very pretty fix, but I may wedge a piece of tape under the lip, which will be invisible.

    Tony

Could you verify and stop the rattle coming from the door without removing the door card?

I also have a rattle coming from the back of the car (estate). I hear it almost everytime I drive on a rough road, and I THINK I have narrowed it down to eminating from the boot lid. The front passenger seat also creaks a lot. Sound familiar to anyone?

  3. Pictures of my wheel as it looks with regular treatments with Poorboy's Leather Stuff (which also has UV blockers):

    IMG_0633-M_zps868b2a4a.jpg

It feels soft, good and not slippery or greazy at all - not even right after the application/treatment. But it is obvious, that it is well protected - which is good.

(IF you spot the unusual bit on those pictures.... check out this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/271207-chrome-trim-on-the-steering-wheel/ )

  4. 1: Remove any large/hard particles with your vacuum cleaner taking care not to touch the plastic itself. You can also use an air blower for lenses* (like I do) - or a can of compressed air.

2: Mist a good, clean microfibre cloth with any glass cleaner that you use on your windscreen - and then gently wipe the plastic.

A good microfibre cloth will not scratch! But if there is a small hard particle under a cloth, the plastic will get scratched no matter what you do or what you use. Keep that in mind.

*Air blower for lenses - the one I use:

  5. I ordered these chrome bits: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-CITIGO-CHROME-SIDE-DOOR-INDICATOR-SURROUND-TRIM-COVERS-SET-STEEL-/200867317717?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ec4a007d5

My 15.000km oil change is coming in early september - I have asked them to remove the Skoda and citigo texts on the hatch (the green of the citigo is not my thing).

So, a little chrome on and a little off :)

Hope that ebay chrome doesn't look too tacky...

I love chrome on a car :) . Be sure to post pictures when you get it installed!

I tried to start a thread about chrome trims some time ago: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/279911-the-show-me-your-chrome-trims-thread/

  6. Buy a bottle of Poorboy's Leather Stuff and use it in a spray bottle diluted with water if you want a matte finish (I use 1:9), or use it undiluted if you want a shiny finish. It cleans very well and adds a good protection - and it makes your car smell like new again :) . Besides, a little goes a very long way. Spray it on and buff with a good MF cloth. It's very easy to work with.

  7. I have just ordered a Mesto Foamer: http://www.amazon.de/MESTO-3132-FOAMER-Schaumsprüher-Liter/dp/B00E7I6WKI/ref=sr_1_2?s=garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1375982481&sr=1-2&keywords=Mesto+foamer http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/new-products-mesto-1-5-l-foamer-pressure-sprayer.html

It should actually be rather good: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=311166

A pressure washer with a foam gun would be better of course, but for the time being I don't have that option.

I am looking forward to trying it out :) .
