  1. RTMG use the smaller 1.4 turbo for their hybrid. I've still got my original 1.2 turbo. I'd be interested in having it upgraded if the cost is reasonable. JBS don't do a stand alone turbo exchange (their package includes fitting and a map) and I don't have the turbo RTMG use for theirs. So I'm a bit in no man's land. Although I still have boost fluctuation at full throttle max boost from 4k onwards the effect of how that feels has massively been reduced by fitting lighter wheels. I wasn't sure if there would be any effect and had thought it might have made it worse as the heavier spinning wheels dampening the effect of the corresponding power fluctuations with the inertia. The light wheels have also transformed the car for the better in general. I didn't think my previous wheels were especially heavy but definitely recommend going lightweight
  2. Check the 3 drivetrain mounts, engine side, gearbox side and dogbone. Could be worn or not reinstalled correctly
  3. I don't believe it will fit the fabia mate
  4. @FabiaGonzalesboost drops at high rpm because of the rate the engine is naturally drawing in air and the boost the turbo can give on top of that diminishes. It's the turbo running out of puff and ideally you'd want that to happen at the top of your rev range so it can also be effective at lower rpm. You get the same restriction but the result isn't the same, the wind is taken out of the sails with my 1.2 trying to keep the bigger turbo boosting whereas the 1.2 with the hybrid doesn't get that. I'm still surprised that I reach peak bhp sooner and torque comes in similar before mine drops off. I'm looking forward to my exhaust and getting on a rr again. Not looking for higher numbers but filling out the back end of the curve
  5. I'm running 1.4 bar, my turbo doesn't go over that. It holds that boost until the 4500 ish mark and then the fluctuation is it dipping and coming back up to 1.4. It's stops being noticeable as the revs pass 5500 as boost starts to drop naturally anyway due to the engine speed.
  6. That's awesome, did they tweak it anymore since the graph you posted the other day? With what they've done with yours we know there's no other boost limits and the MAP sensor is good for it. I'm still going to see how mine behaves after my exhaust is done before I start planning trips to JBS. I'm hoping the exhaust will elongate my curve into the upper rev range and it was that stalling the turbo causing my niggle. I'm guessing your bill was pretty sizable and for me it probably won't be worth it, especially if the turbo-back widens my powerband. Did you say that atm your intake and exhaust are completely stock?
  7. @FabiaGonzales You picked your car up today didn't you? Any updates? How does it drive etc?
  8. Which part of the actuator won't fit, the mounting point or arm onto the wastegate? Do you have both actuators?
  9. Be great to see how you get on when you up the tune, that is a nice and flat torque curve and nice power curve
  10. New downpipe is not required for the turbo swap but the stock exhaust does present as a limiting factor, especially the cat. I got fed up of trying to find an off the shelf option (Friedrich Motorsport) is the only one that actually lists the Fabia. Other Ea211 options may either fit, fit but need reworking or not fit at all so I'm booked for a custom job. Going to be cheaper than the Friedrich and it'll be fitted for me and my tastes.
  11. I've started an Instagram page for my car to track my work. Nothing new turbo for me, hoping to get a turbo-back exhaust system with sports cat ASAP but working on other bits. Feel free to give it a follow, I'm no photographer though and my car is almost always dirty. TurboFabNJ https://instagram.com/turbofabnj?igshid=mxrgjn0s4xy6
  12. Nice! I saw you had the standard 1.4 turbo on your car before. I'd put that actuator on it. Be interested to see how you get on
  13. Great to hear yours is making a come back. I think after mapping there is improvement low down compared to stock but its completely overshadowed by the increase in power once the turbo comes in. Of course it's got some lag as its only a small engine running a turbo for a larger one. There's always a compromise to be had when pushing more power from smaller displacement, you can't have it all unfortunately. A hybrid turbo would help but they are mega expensive and I don't think the lag is that bad
  14. I think 3 bar will be more than sufficient, it's just finding one that will fit and work with the ECU. At the moment I want to finish my suspension work and brakes as I've already got or ordered those bits and in the new year I want to get the exhaust done. Then I will be looking at this again. I've also been thinking about an LSD and clutch pack upgrade. What a money pit!
  15. @FabiaGonzalesany update on your build?
  16. So your dyno figures are actually very good for the standard turbo with a remap, maybe its just being pushed too far. Does your downpipe have a decat? At what point did the problems start? If its an option, I'd swap the turbos back, just to rule that out. Don't worry about the English, its better than a lot of English people and It's much better than what my attempt at your native language would be
  17. Is it possible to put your old turbo back on, when did you start getting the problems? At the top of this post is a list of turbos, is it possible you've got the larger one that has that extra sensor and that's causing issues. I'm no expert at reading these graphs but I can't see anywhere on it that indicates a problem you might have on the road. What gear was used for the dyno run? There are so many part numbers used for the turbos its really difficult to get the right one. Have you got pictures of the one you fitted? Are you getting and lights come on or fault codes?
  18. Hi Dumi3, your figures look down on power compared to what I'd expect of a car with the larger 1.4 turbo. It's possible you've put on the turbo from the lower output 1.4 which is the same as the standard one. I'm not 100% familiar with the polo, I assume because you're posting here that yours is the model most similar to the mk3 fabia, turbo behind the engine and turbo has an electric actuator
  19. I know, this was meant to be a cheap run-around/commuter car. I'm really enjoying myself though, it'll be perfect soon. Then I'll need a project car
  20. This one maybe https://www.ebay.com/itm/264104854781 That's my day sorted then, Reading all about these.
  21. @TheFozzy that is something worthy of further investigation. I was pondering about the possibility of an aftermarket boost controller. My previous modded cars have been N/A so most of this turbo stuff is new to me. That one you've put the link in for is the wrong application though. Finding one that fits might be a problem, I don't know
  22. I guess that makes sense, like the actuator needs mapping manually because the adjustments the ecu is trying to make are based on different hardware, not very different but enough to make it clumsy. Like automacally going to pick up your pint but your forearm is half an inch longer than you think it is. Picking it up, drinking and putting it down is not going to be smooth at all
  23. I don't get why it can't hold steady boost when 1.2 mapped can, a 1.4 swap can. We're not asking much more of it. If the actuator is so ham-fisted I don't see a hybrid making that any better. The only thing is what JBS may learn in development of it and a map alongside it.
