  1. I've managed to get them back in. It was much easier than the 1st time though. I home they don't come out again. Do TT mk1 / R32 bushes also fit. Are your powerflex bushes different to mine. Mine are part number PFF85-1202
  2. The knocking has returned. On the other side. The bushes were fully seated. the metal rings were frozen and driven in with a mallet. Then I pressed in the poly bush. Why would it come out. This is on the near side. Oppisite side to were I had problems. I've hit a few potholes on that side would that be enough. When fitting I used new nuts and bolts and did them up with suspension in normal position. Used a jack under the wishbone
  3. I pulled the wishbones out last night the bad side had the rubber separate from the metal ring. I was able to fully remove it with one finger. Only symptoms were a knocking at full lock. Was fine at speed😯. Luckily it didn't come apart while driving. I already have new ARB bushes from Skoda so will just use them for the moment.
  4. My Quinton hazell wishbones have been lost by Hermes so I've ordered powerflex bushes. I hope they come in time for my mot.
  5. How have the QH wishbones held up. I've just ordered a set as the rear bush on one side is looking quite sad. It's now squeaking over smaller bumbs. Im also going to do the ARB bushes at the same time
  6. £549 for both doesn't seem too bad. is that for a diesel. On the TSI a water pump is 180 just for the parts. On the newer TSI the waterpump is on the opposite side of the engine. I think I got quoted over £800 for both. I believe doing the water pump is simple labour wise compared to timing belt.
  7. the tensioner seemed ok. The auxiliary belt has to come off anyway so I got a new one. I think it was £20 from skoda.
  8. Every thing is now back together and working. Some bits are very arkward to reach. Took 5 days a bit longer than expected. But the actual belt swap was fairly simple once everything was out of the way. My old belt after 6 years and 53000 miles was in very good condition with no signs of wear. The interval of 5 years seems a bit soon. At least it's done now. Belt, tensioner and pully £147 from tps. Ea211 locking tools £50 on Amazon Laser 7279 pulley holding tools £90 amazon Also needed 21mm 12 point impact socket to remove the crank pulley. Could not get it loose with a breaker bar on jackstands. So I had to wait a day for that Probably better to get it done at the dealer but at least I've got the stuff for next time
  9. Putting a bit more pressure on the belt between the cams allowed the tool to be removed. Both timing tools can be reinserted after rotating the crank twice so engine is still timed ok. Now I just need to try and get the alternator and engine mount back in😢
  10. I have attempted doing my timing belt. All went well until I went to remove the canshaft locking tool. Any ideas?
  11. I have ordered a set of rear caliperss off of a TT quattro. The calipers are the same as the polo wrc. But I think i need carriers off of a 2wd car with 256 vented brakes like mk1 Leon cupra R or mk1 Octavia vrs. the TT carriers may fit with spacers. Haven't looked into how difficult finding the correct handbrake cable is yet
  12. yea its been fixed. it needs a washer bottle as it has a small crack so when filled over half way it slowly dripples out. im guessing bumper will need to come off to access it. the only think that concerns me it that on some roads the steering wheel it to the left when going straight. I hope its needs an alignment as I never got it done after fitting springs.
  13. Do you have vcds? Would you be able to check what your sensor voltage is when bright and dark. Its under central electrics advanced measured values. I wonder if my wiring has too high resistance. Does anyone know how this sensor works. Is it a photosensitive resistor. And the bcm calculates voltage drop over the sensor. Or is it more complex.
  14. Hi Have now got a new light sensor from the skoda dealer with pins 1 and 4. And have setup the coding using the guide wirer.sk But i have an error code in vcds 950280 - Light recognition sensor B13CA 29 [009] - Signal Implausible Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 200 Mileage: 85306 km Date: 2020.12.11 Time: 20:30:21 sensor voltage is stable at 0.6v when plugged in and does not change when dark or in daylight. Sensor voltage is 5v when unplugged. Lights are always on in auto position Has anyone got any ideas
  15. After getting the turbo mapped has anyone noticed low down power improved. Mine has very little low down power under 2k rpm compared to my old 1.4 140 Ibiza. I bought my old fabia back yesterday 😆
  16. I'm sad I crashed mine before getting the new turbo mapped
  17. Unfortunately I am leaving the fabia club. I'm now the proud owner of an ibiza fr 1.4 tsi act. If anyone wants a cat s Monte Carlo it's for sale lol https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/38590070 Did any one get anywhere with 4/6 pot calipers I'm quite interested
