No wonder 89% would buy the Michelin CrossClimate+ tyres again compared to a rather low 68% for the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 tyres.

It would be interesting to see comparative results for the two winners (ie. Continental PremiumContact 6 and Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance 2) in both sizes 195/65R15 and 205/55R16.

Load & speed ratings
91W can be replaced with 94W, 91Y or 94Y. You might do this if 91W isn't available in the tyre brand and model that you want. For example, Vredestein Quatrac Pro isn't available in 91W but is available in 94V and 94Y. So you would choose 94Y in this case. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyres/vredestein-8714692347313-ap22545017yqpra02 https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=2BYOMFmnyrbJ4GxL.110.1836312619&sowigan=GAN&Breite=225&Quer=45&Felge=17&kategorie=6&Marke=Vredestein&Herst=Vredestein&m_s=3&sort_by=brand&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&Label=E-B-71-2&details=Ordern&typ=R-400850 https://www.vredestein.co.uk/car-suv-van/tyre-finder/tyres/product/1/225/45/17/1656-quatrac-pro H speed rating is for speeds up to 210km/h (130mph) V speed rating is for speeds up to 240km/h (150mph) W speed rating is for speeds up to 270km/h (168mph) Y speed rating is for speeds up to 300km/h (186mph)

Spare wheel size
What is the full specification of the steel rim? What is the full specification of the tyre? A quick look on the Companies House website, shows that the limited company behind this ebay listing is a company from Glasgow and run by a clueless 21 year old. It's outrageous that this sort of behaviour is even legal in the UK. They are putting peoples lives at risk. That seller has hundreds of listings claiming the same space saver wheel fits all Skoda Yeti cars, all Skoda Octavia cars from 2005, and all Skoda Superb cars from 2002. No doubt, if you look at the seller's other listings on ebay you would find that he also claims that this very same space saver spare wheel would fit just about every VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda car ever made. Put simply, these types of sellers are conmen. You are not getting a spare wheel that is correct for your car.

Spare wheel size
Many of the spare wheels sold on ebay to fit the Yeti, would be dangerous if actually used on the car. The only thing that makes many of them "suitable" for the Yeti is that they are capable of being physically bolted on, ie. they have a 5/112 BCD and 57.1mm hub centre bore. The outside diameters of the tyres on most of them are much less than the Yeti's standard 215/60R16 and 225/50R17 tyre sizes. Most ebay sellers appear to keep the exact specifications of what they are selling a secret...and probably for good reason. They are selling to uninformed buyers. No mention is made of who makes the rims. They certainly aren't genuine Skoda OEM equipment...and who makes the jack? Is it even made to the same specification as the original Skoda jack? Some of these spare tyres could be many years old. Rubber deteriorates with age. Alcar 9257 Steel Rim 7Jx16 ET45 5/112 57.1 https://www.oponeo.co.uk/steel-wheel/alcar-kfz-9257#21246586 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750851 For a spare tyre, maybe ask someone who is about to throw away their old tyres that they are replacing. I usually just throw my old tyres away when they are still legal and have plenty of tread remaining.

Towing with a Superb estate 150 TDI
The 85% figure that is often quoted will be to take into account the worst drivers who would maybe brake too late, take corners too quickly, etc. A 1,400kg car towing a 1,800kg caravan will mean that you have to drive more smoothly take than a 1,400kg car towing a 1,200kg caravan. Give it a go, and if you find the tail wagging the dog you know that you need a bigger towing vehicle.

Towing with a Superb estate 150 TDI
The 2.0 TDI 150PS engine has 340Nm of torque. If it didn't have enough torque, it wouldn't be rated to pull 2,200kg.

18" Steel Rims
There are some fans of steel rims. Over on the Skoda Octavia MK3 forum, one of our Belgian friends likes the idea of fitting these 7.5Jx18 ET50 5/112 57.1 steel rims with 225/40R18 tyres to his car. There is generally a lack of steel rims over 16", so 18" steel rims that could fit some Skoda models is of interest to some.

Rear Springs for Towing
The OEM part number for the rear springs on both the hatchback and estate version of the Skoda Superb MK3 2.0TDI 150PS appears to be 3Q0511115AK. Two questions: Can anyone confirm the specification of the VW ID.3 18" steel rims? What is the OEM part number?

Correct disks for a 1.6d estate 2014
It looks like the OEM part number for the 276mm discs with code PR-1ZF is 5Q0615301A Here's a listing for Bosch and Brembo discs matching that part number on autodoc.co.uk https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/5q0615301a?search=OEN+5Q0615301A&supplier[1]=65&supplier[2]=30

Looking to improve grip & handling of 2.0 TSI 220 PS
Maybe try Michelin CrossClimate or Vredestein Quatrac Pro in size 225/40R18. These are all-season tyres with the 3PMSF symbol, so should help with grip when the tarmac is in poor condition. You may be able to use the 18" steel rims from the new VW ID.3 electric car. The specification appears to be 7.5Jx18 ET50 5/112 57.1 but I don't have this confirmed.

Towing with a Superb estate 150 TDI
One thing you have on your side with the Superb, is that it has a lower centre of gravity than an SUV such as the Kodiaq. The Superb would also be less affected by strong crosswinds than SUVs and big vans. Some big vans (such as Renault Master) and some pickups (Nissan Navara) can officially tow 3,500kg. The Superb also has a long wheelbase and a wide front and rear track, which helps stability. If you are towing a big caravan with the Superb, don't drive like this:

18" Steel Rims
It looks like the VW ID.3 18" steel rims might fit the Skoda Kodiaq. Here's the information on wheel-size.com for the VW ID.3 Volkswagen ID.3 2020 Wheel fitment guide Please, note: highlighted items are for OEM wheels Tire Rim Bolt pattern EV 201hp 215/55R18 7.5Jx18 5x112 215/50R19 7.5Jx19 ET50 5x112 215/45R20 7.5Jx20 5x112 If it turns out to be 7.5Jx18 ET50 5/112 57.1 then a 235/55R18 tyre such as: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 235/55 R18 100H https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=Vmqwxb9tdiqUWnKh.110.156093208&sowigan=So&Breite=235&Quer=55&Felge=18&kategorie=6&Marke=Goodyear&Herst=Goodyear&m_s=3&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&Label=A-A-71-2&details=Ordern&typ=R-419220 should be ideal for the warmer summer months. The 215/65R17 tyres do look a bit skinny. Maybe save that size for the winter.
