  1. If you're looking for bargain priced tyres for the Yeti, 205/55R16 size tyres are a much cheaper size than 17" tyres and also cheaper than the 215/60R16 size. 205/55R16 was fitted as standard to some Yeti models and is one of the recommended winter tyre sizes. 2. That's why I said this... "Although 205/70R15 is a non-standard size on the Yeti, many owners do fit non-standard tyre sizes in the UK." 15" wheels have never been approved by Skoda for fitment to a Kamiq. However, skoda-parts.com are listing 15" wheels to fit them. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/2q0601027t03c-steel-wheel-disc-skoda-38412.html
  3. That's why I posted the load index of all three tyre sizes. The 205/70R15 tyre actually slightly exceeds the load carrying capacity of the 215/60R16 and 225/50R17 sizes. In many difficult winter conditions the narrower 205/70 size would outperform the boy racer 225/50 size especially if fitted with good 3PMSF tyres. Even on the Skoda Kodiaq RS with 20" wheels, you will soon find the limit of the car's handling when undertaking the moose test...
  4. Skoda specified 16" and 17" wheels because of fashion, not safety. Cars like the Skoda Citigo with skinny 165/70R14 tyres have the lowest insurance premiums because low performance equals low risk.
  5. These three tyre sizes all have similar outside diameters and similar load indexes. They are all interchangeable. 205/70R15 (710kg load index at 3Bar/44psi) 215/60R16 (690kg load index at 3Bar/44psi) 225/50R17 (670kg load index at 3Bar/44psi) The Skoda Yeti often has 312mm diameter front discs which means that you need at least 16" rims to clear the front brake calipers. However, on the lower powered models 288mm diameter front discs are fitted. This means that 15" rims will clear the front brake calipers. 205/70R15 tyres are more comfortable, more mpg, and less decibels. 6. Asymmetric tyres are not directional. Once fitted correctly to the rim, asymmetric tyres can be fitted to the vehicle in any position...left or right, front or back.
  7. 7Jx16 ET45 5/112 57.1 is the standard rim size for the Yeti with 215/60R16 tyres ET45 means that the offset is 45mm. ET stands for Einpresstiefe which is a German word. In English, Einpresstiefe means offset. 5/112 means 5 bolt holes with a BCD (Bolt Circle Diameter) of 112mm. 57.1 means the centre bore is 57.1mm. As well as 7Jx16 ET45 rims, 6Jx16 ET50 steel rims were also available for winter tyres in size 205/55R16. http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/YET/year/2015/drive_standart/779/hg_ug/601/subcategory/601010/part_id/2543667/lang/e 7J rims are quite wide for a 215/60 tyre size. 6.5J is more normal for this tyre size. 8. This is the latest all-season tyre review. It was posted just two days ago on 27/9/20. Goodyear G3 came 1st out of 32 all-season tyres on test. Vredestein Quatrac came 2nd. The Vredestein Quatrac is new and replaces the Quatrac 5. https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2020-Auto-Bild-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm
  9. This link on national tyres is the Continental AllSeasonContact in size 185/55R15 86H. It's a good all-season tyre. Not the same as the TS860 which Continental classify as a winter tyre. Both tyres do well in tyre reviews. https://www.national.co.uk/tyres-search?width=185&profile=55&diameter=15&rating=H~&loadindex=&pattern=allseasoncontact However, Vredestein has just brought out a new all-season tyre called Quatrac. It replaces the Quatrac 5. Some sizes are being released now, other sizes won't be available until 2021. It came 2nd out of 32 all-season tyres in this month's autobild all-season tyre review. Goodyear G3 came in 1st place. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyres/vredestein-8714692358241-ap18555015hqt6a00 autobild September 2020 all-season tyre review https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2020-Auto-Bild-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm

  11. Continental PremiumContact 2 tyres are a summer tyre and have poor performance in the snow and ice. If you use them all year round, it might be better using winter tyres such as Continental TS860. Although the TS860 are winter tyres, they have been show in a tyre test to actually be a better all-season tyre than Continental's all-season tyre. Continental TS860 175/65R14 82T https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyres/continental-4019238741513-0353991 Continental TS860 185/55R15 82T https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyres/continental-4019238792812-0355124 As you can see from the above two links, the 175/65R14 82T is a much cheaper size than the 185/55R15 82T size. 175/65R14 is also a more comfortable size and has less drag, so more mpg. Alcar 6795 5Jx14 ET35 4/100 57.1 Steel Rims https://www.autodoc.co.uk/spares-search?keyword=6795&brandNo[0]=100470 175/65R14 fitted to 5Jx14 4/100 rims were one of the standard options on the Citigo, so no problems with insurance. Fitting new rims means that you won't have problems with slow air leaks. When rims get old, you can get corrosion on the bead seat, resulting in a slow air leak. This probably happens even more with alloy rims than steel rims. If you use a garage airline that has water in the air, you get water inside your tyre. This could be one of the reasons that corrosion builds up on the rim where the tyre bead sits.
  12. Rather than 235/45R20, you could fit 235/55R18 tyres with suitable 18" rims. It looks like the new steel rims from the VW ID.3 electric car would fit. Are you getting that car in NZ? These have a specification of something like 7.5Jx18 ET50 5/112 57.1 but do check first before making any purchase.
  13. If you list all your PR code numbers, someone might be able to help.
  14. That nut uses an M14x1.5 thread. That is the same thread that Fabia wheel bolts use. If you take a look at the wikipedia entry on ISO metric screw threads, you will see that the 1.5mm thread pitch is a fine thread for an M14 diameter. You will also see on the wikipedia entry, that M14 threads take a 21mm spanner if the nut or bolt with that thread is made to the ISO specification. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_metric_screw_thread wheel bolt M14X1,5X27 http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/FAB/year/2008/drive_standart/453/hg_ug/601/subcategory/601010/part_id/2543667/lang/e
  15. The MK3 Superb uses 215/60R16 tyres on 6.5Jx16 ET41 rims, whereas the MK2 Superb uses 205/55R16 tyres on either 6Jx16 ET50 rims or 7Jx16 ET45 rims. The outside diameter of a 215/60R16 tyre is about 5% bigger than the outside diameter of a 205/55R16 tyre. 205/55R16 is a much cheaper size than 215/60R16.

  18. 1K0511115BS is a lowered rear spring as it fitted to such cars as the Skoda Octavia MK2 Estate RS and the VW Golf MK6 Estate with sports suspension. 19. I thought it might be a Greenline as 1K0511115BS appear to be sports springs, and Greenline's tend to use sports springs to improve the drag coefficient by lowering the ride height. It might be worth checking the car's build codes to see what was fitted in the factory. If one of the car's build codes is PR-0YC then that means that the car was built with 1K0511115BS rear springs in the factory. http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/SUP/year/2014/drive_standart/768/hg_ug/511/subcategory/511010/part_id/2562471/lang/e

  22. If you are losing more than 1psi each month, then that tyre has a slow leak. This is usually caused by a corroded rim where the rim meets the tyre bead, so that air escapes at this point. Of course, a slow leak can also be caused by a foreign object such as a nail penetrating the tyre.
  23. Something doesn't quite ring true...
  24. Audi A3 alloys in size 7.5Jx17 have more offset than ET41.
  25. They look like Superb MK3 alloy rims. However, the tyres look like they have a smaller outside diameter than the 215/55R17 tyres that would normally be fitted to those rims on the Superb MK3. Take a look on ebay for a guide to prices of similar rims. You could search 6.5Jx17 ET41 as there are many different styles in this size including ones that are original equipment on the VW Passat B8. You might not find much for sale with your OEM part number as it doesn't appear to be a popular rim design.
