Buying a 'review' VRS
Hey all. I have put a deposit down on a nice VRS 230 estate, however when looking at online reviews I can see the actual car I am looking at is one used for various reviews. The mileage isn't too high but just wondering if this is generally a good or bad thing? Would something like this put you off buying a car?

Mk2 VRS Front lower middle of bumper sprayed black
Hi all, I remember sometime ago seeing pictures of MK2 VRS' where the owners had sprayed the lower middle part of the front bumper black (so it looks like it extends the grille) For some reason I cant find pictures anywhere so was wondering if anyone who has done this could share the pictures with me please? Regards

2.0 TDI VRS cooling issue
That temperature certainly seems hot. Have you had the thermostat replaced at all, does the temperature gauge read on the middle after driving for a short period?

Strange noise on releasing accelerator MK2 FL CEGA
Hey all, Started to get this strange noise when letting off the accelerator quite abruptly when doing low speeds. It's a 2011 Vrs FL diesel with 130k miles. Recent clutch, dual mass, cambelt kit. It doesn't happen if you rev when not in gear, or put the clutch down and rev whilst in gear and it seems to me to either be mount related or turbo. As it either does it when releasing boost or the engine/gearbox moves when letting off the accelerator. You can hear the noise on the video attached, it happens twice in the video. Sometime if the car is warm it doesn't make the noise at all VID-20240302-WA0003_1.mp4

Airbox screw thread
It's just the one screw and you can see the airbox is higher where that screw would usually hold it tight, from memory I think there are 8 other screws securing the airbox. It'll probably do no harm but if I can fix it fairly cheaply then I might aswel :)

Airbox screw thread
Hey all, I have a 2011 Octavis VRS CR 170 and have noticed when my car last went in for service the mechanic over tightened an airbox screw and it looks to have stripped the thread from the bottom of the airbox (as it tightens but doesnt stop as the other screws do, it just keeps on spinning) Other than purchasing a replacement lower part of the airbox (but i think it comes as a whole) has anyone had this happen and come up with a cheapish resolution (a new airbox is around £200 from skoda!) Many thanks :)
