Just cancelled
Can't remember how the issue of Lane Assist came up in a recent conversation with a friend. He has it on his car it absolutely pees him off. I think I'd be turning it off and would not be overly keen in having to do it at the start of every journey if that was the default.

Wireless Android Auto issue
That sounds like a good plan. Off for a look for one of those. In my case it would be a USB-C (car) to Mini USB (dashcam) Cheers

Absolutely agree with your last sentence. π

Wireless Android Auto issue
I hard wired it in my wife's Fiesta and the Seat Arona that the Karoq has replaced. I will probably end up doing it at some point. Maybe the only thing preventing me just cracking on is I had keyhole surgery on my knee recently and a bit wary of kneeling on it to get at the fuse board. Visiting a mate with a car scissor lift in January so may take the opportunity to get it up on that π

Wireless Android Auto issue
A cable is permanently plugged into one of the two USB sockets so available if I need to charge it. On a related note I discovered that the USB ports are only live when the ignition is on but the 12v socket next to them is permanently live. That's a bit of a nuisance tbh as my dashcam is plugged into that. Might need to get a hard wired set up with a piggy back fuse holder.

Wireless Android Auto issue
1) Yes 2) No Absolutely. But if I'm only going for a short journey and my phone is fully/well charged I wouldn't bother plugging in the cable. Most of my journeys (to customers premises) are fairly short and the phone has a decent sized battery and holds its charge quite well. FWIW, I have a Brodit phone holder so can bung the handset in that and plug it in if I need a battery top up or to stop it draining too much

Wireless Android Auto issue
Here's one for you When I went to pick my car up last Friday the salesman paired my phone with a cable. I was going to go with doing via Bluetooth but he insisted "it was better". Didn't pursue it as I thought "Whatever" π Anyway..... I have wireless Android Auto in my 2022 SE L and it has not missed a beat. Whether it was due to pairing with the cable or because I had asked for any map and Infotainment system updates to be I don't know. Maybe both. Who knows

Heated Front Screen
You clearly did or you wouldn't have asked the question It isn't just a physical screen as if it was Autoglass rocking up at your house to replace one. It had to be supplied, fitted, wired (somebody else) and configured in the Infotainment screen (another somebody else). I also explained the bigger picture as to why in the grand (pun intended) scheme of things it could be argued relatively cheap. You clearly would have baulked at it but we all have different views and priorities.

Heated Front Screen
It is one of things you don't know you need (ok, really want) until you've had one. All in, the screen and 3 lots of labour, it was just over Β£1,000. Adding the Winter Pack Plus to the Configurator to get it fitted in the factory would be Β£425. That also gets you heated rear seats but this something I would never anticipate using. I console myself with the fact that the Β£1,000 is a relatively small proportion of the depreciation I didn't have to endure as it was a used car. Paid over Β£7,000 less than a new one with the features mine now has. Don't know if I'm justifying the cost to you but it is working for me π Anyway ....... Have spent the couple of days since I picked it up familiarising myself with it. Over the moon so far so a happy camper

Heated Front Screen
Update on π Collected the car today avec heated screen There is no dedicated button on the central console as there would have been if fitted on the production line. You press the Menu button and one to toggle the heated screen on/off appears on the Infotainment screen. So, if anyone wishes they had included it as part of the Winter Pack Plus if buying new or had bought a used vehicle with it you can do it retrospectively. One thing to bear in mind should you ever go down this route. If you need a damage repair don't simply quote the VIN or Reg No as you'll only get a replacement for the screen it left the factory with.

Satnav destinations
It would if you used Android Auto rather than the in-built navigation. Appreciate that isn't what you asked but you can navigate to a Contact. If you prefer to use the in-built system then add him (and any others) as Favourites as @Lee has suggested.

Adroid auto! Stop to searching
Try getting the car and phone to separately 'forget' the other device On your phone go to Settings, Apps, Android Auto and Clear Storage Got no idea if that will work but if you have a corrupted pairing it might work when you try to link them next time.

Wireless Android Auto issue
I like the thought of wireless AA but being able to top up any battery charge nicked by connection with the car (wired or otherwise) for navigation etc means plugging it in. Unless of course you've somehow wangled wireless charging too of course I always fit Brodit holders and one is going in my imminent Karoq SE L. Hopefully collecting it next week.

Heated Front Screen
Hi folks I registered on Briskoda ages ago when considering a Kamiq but ended up going down a different route. However, I am about to change vehicle again and am in the process of acquiring a 2022 Karoq SEL It came out of the factory with heated front seats, steering wheel and wing mirrors. My wife and I wanted a heated screen as our other vehicle already has that and it is great. Having read the earlier posts in this thread I know that heated front windscreens can be added on the production line as part of the Winter Pack PLUS and that would also have added heated outer rear seats. But get this ..... The Dealer we are buying the Karoq from has told me that heated front screens can be retro fitted. It's apparently done by a firm close to one of their other branches so they tell me. It's not cheap and certainly more than the cost of the Winter Pack Plus option when configuring from new. Don't judge but we have agreed to pay it. βΊοΈ It is such a great feature so thought sod it. Anyway. It is a task that apparently requires three 'people' to install it and that probably influences the cost of getting one in this way. One to fit the screen One to wire it up. (I assume to the central console where the On/Off button goes and the fuse board.) One to program the Infotainment system as it can be turned on via the screen. Not naming the Dealer as this is apparently as much a voyage of discovery for them as me as they have not actually had it done on another vehicle yet. #guineapig If it actually happens it'll be done this week and I'll collect it next week I'll edit the post as appropriate but thought some of you may be interested Cheers
