  1. Try disabling AA notifications, turning your phone on and off and then re-enabling them. Very occasionally my phone does some weird merde and a re-boot fixes it. Nothing ventured yadda yadda
  2. Send yourself one when parked up
  3. Create a group with you and (temporarily) somebody else in it. Call it "Me" or something similar. Then delete the other person. You can then send messages to the Group but only you will receive it/them I do it to keep a record of stuff I want to deal with later

I have wireless AA as does my wife on her Karoq

Not experienced it myself However, unless you are in the first year of ownership from new or subscribe to Skoda Connect you won't be getting live traffic. Would personally recommend Android Auto (or the other one) as it will be a real time as you can get with Google Maps or Waze
  6. Maybe HIS was always meant to but just suddenly started doing what it should rather than what it, in his opinion/understanding it shouldn't. It's all very well someone saying "My car has started doing X" but if several people say "It is meant to do X" where does that leave things? I'd say that helping the OP get a handle on what issue his car is experiencing might actually be quite "helpful".
  7. As has been said a few times, Auto Hold is NOT the Parking Brake. It might be the same components doing the holding/braking but the functions are different.
  8. As others have said, my understanding is that the Parking Brake is automatically applied when you switch off the engine/ignition. ie It's actually meant to do what you have said happens in your car. Auto Hold is completely different and you can disable that using the button in the central console when you start the engine. Whether you can permanently disable it in Settings you'd have to check but why you would want to I don't know as I think it is a very useful safety and convenience feature.
  9. I saw it on one occasion previously and the hatch was wide open. I was only trying to roll back a few feet to create a gap to the car behind me to unload stuff. Camera wouldn't work with it open. I saw it again recently and it was because it thought the rear hatch was not closed. I got out and opened/closed it again and it was fine after that. Maybe dirt on a hatch lock sensor or something. Might be worth looking at the catch and checking whether anything has got caught in the recess
  10. Try creating a profile in Users then change the Privacy setting as described above. That might make it remember each time the car ignition is turned on No idea if it will solve it but I'd certainly consider giving it a go
  11. It was fitted by Citygate and as I said never missed a beat. Make of that what you will
  12. I have only had the Karoq for 11 days When setting the favourites on the wireless I picked the DAB versions of the stations I like to listen to. Reception has been (or had, see below) rock solid and crystal clear. Turned on the rear screen heater a couple of days ago and it was like listening to MC Norman Collier 🤘 Turned it off. Clear as a bell again
  13. Indeed Ian You'll notice that I've deleted the post you quoted as I thought it was actually more relevant to the separate [https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/519918-12v-socket-and-dashcam-power-feed-issue/] thread on dashcams. I've re-posted my comment there but obviously not entirely irrelevant to this topic considering the various posts we've had. TBH, it was quite satisfying getting to the bottom of it and making it work as I wanted it to. 👍
  14. Every day is indeed a school day I thought my Nextbase 222X had Parking Mode but I could only find a setting for the G Sensor in Settings. After some more searching and fettling I discovered earlier today that you need to press the Menu button twice to access a separate set of feature settings. One of which is, you've guessed it, Parking Mode. Enabled it. Turned off ignition. Waited 5 minutes (the period it states in the manual that it will go on to Standby if no movement detected) Bingo!!! Don't need the IfTTT work round now but handy to know I have that as a back up if required. I also don't need to buy and fit a hard-wiring kit. Double bonus
  15. Thanks I know it is a fairly straightforward task as I have done it before in my wife's car. The difficulty I have is that it is only 3 weeks after keyhole surgery on my knee so can't risk further injury kneeling down on the floor to install a kit on my Karoq. At some point I expect I'll do it but I have a working solution for the time being. 👍
  16. Not sure if this is helpful but here goes anyway I bought the Seat Arona I recently traded in for the Karoq from the sale overall Dealership. Different branches had different franchises. They retro-fitted a rear view camera to the Arona and it was fully integrated with the Infotainment system. Considering the overlap both makes have with the VW Group I'd have thought Skoda could do it if Seat could manage it. And fwiw, I got quotes from a few local ICE (Entertainment, not Combustion) specialists and the Dealer came out the cheapest. Never missed a beat in the 3 years or so I had it.
  17. I checked my 222X and while it has the 'Nudge' feature should some eejit hit it in a car park or whatever it does not unfortunately go on to Standby if no movement is detected after parking up. It sounds like it should but so far it disnae. I'll keep on its case. However, I haven't ruled out hard wiring at some point but for the time being at least the solution I described above with the IfTTT app and an in your face 🔊 notification works a treat. 😁
  18. Thank you very much. I'll have a look later 👍
  19. How can you be sure it isn't Samsung's problem? Anyway. I've tried to offer some suggestions so I've leave you to communicate with Skoda
  20. Have you tried returning the car to Factory Settings and starting again? It is possible, however remote, that something got corrupted during the initial set up of the Infotainment system. Maybe a long shot and a waste of time but any port in a storm. I have deliberately resisted suggesting doing the same for the handset as that can be a real PITA. You may of course be happy to try it but, for me anyway, that's a serious last resort for any phone issues.
  21. Right, here's one for you Hope this makes sense and maybe helps some of you. I discovered that the 12v sockets in the centre console of Skoda vehicles with Auto Stop/Start are permanently live. Both of them!!! Now I can envisage scenarios where people might find this useful. However, using it to power my case a Nextbase 222X dashcam which then can't auto power down when the ignition is turned off is not one of them. "Oh, that's unfortunate" was duly uttered. Or words to that effect anyway. 😆 I considered fitting a separate hard-wired power feed to the fuse box but based on the Nadia Comaneci-esque contortions I managed to pull off I could not see a suitable place to attach the black/negative wire. There may be one. I just didn't manage to spot one. That ruled out that solution. So, what next I asked myself ...... Well, I considered leaving a reminder note in the vehicle but if I wasn't reacting to the powered up screen of the 222X and pulling the plug from the 12v socket then a (conspicuous) fluorescent card or summat was hardly going to cut the mustard as a successful Plan B. Plan C however may just do the trick. If you've got this far pin back your lug 'oles and bear with me. I downloaded the IFTTT (If This Then That) app on to my phone. There's a premium version but the free one lets you create 2 Applets. I guess that's to whet users' appetites before deciding the premium version was a mush have. I only need one so there was a foc/nil/nada + right there. I then created a simple 2 step action based on my phone disconnecting from a Bluetooth device (my Karoq) and then the App sends a dedicated sound notification quite distinct from the default for all other apps. I tested it a couple of times and around 10 secs after turning the ignition off the app specific notification sounded. Result. Thanks for reading if you're still awake 😁
  22. Can the two devices successfully pair with other things even if not (yet) with each other?
  23. BIB Indeed. I used it for the first time today and it was great. I had been sitting in the car doing something. It wasn't freezing but cold enough outside for the screen to mist up quite badly inside from my breath. Switched the screen on and within a few seconds it had gone. Regrets? None whatsoever

Okay doke But as someone else said, the Travel Assist ££££ could be better spent elsewhere. IMO anyway.
